It had the option to turn off the fan. But I think you'll lose some lighting output. This is 2 years old but my forza 500 came with a different mount. A mafer type clamp.
It might've broke because you had the strap on the mounting piece, the mounting piece works best when you slide the top of the control box (that has the sliding indicators) into the slot properly
I have a Forza 500 and used it maybe a Dozen times in the last 8 months only in studio and yesterday I got an over heating warning and realized my fan is not working.. Have you had any of the fans die on you?
Haha, hey man. I know but it works either way.. but the mount broke during tighting it didn't have the box on it. Also nanlite have said its a common complaint for them!

It broke before I put it on. I was just tighting to the cstand. It's apparently a common problem.

No not at all, mine still works great. Id recomend you get in contact with nanlite about it they are very good on their repairs.
Hi, I've heard that Nanlite fresnel doesn't fit with Aputure 300d II. Could you confirm that?
that is correct. aputure use a different design. they are bringing out a new fresnel soon.
