I like the Darkplates 2.0 as the top aligns with the top of the console and the two fan vents allows for more airflow when you remove the grills.
The plates do make it look better but there's not much difference in temperature control. It just makes it easier for dust to settle on the fan without a dust cover.

You also have to remember the darkplates have a dusk cover you can clean. Which would make the system overall stay cleaner

Each has their own opinions. For me I just want my console to run as good as possible. SInce these help it run cooler I want to get some myself. Plus the black will go better next to my Series X

@@shockafter7 that’s probably because it doesn’t really need a stand when it’s horizontal..? I use my stand in horizontal cause I have a cat and it works just fine. It’s not like it’s gonna tip over
@@ripmybrain9959 I have a cat too, and I often take my console from my office space to the lounge and back and every time i pick it up, it comes undone. and im visually impaired so i have to get my spouse to constantly line the hooks up on the squares. and i notice it wobbles when i unplug everything to bring it to the lounge. i wish they had rubber feet on the case like every single other previous model.
I recently got mine as well, just in the white. These faceplates DEFINITELY make the PS5 look like a whole other console and I like it. Way better than the popped collar or binder look of the original. I can definitely see dbrand making multiple color ways in the future.

I got the 2.0 darkplates and I think they do look better to have the more sleek curved look. Plus putting my hand around the playstation it does actually feel cooler even on the back
You say there's a performance increase but didn't show any actual measurements or tests like actual tech channels do. All the *actual tests* I've seen show a difference of a few degrees with these plates and stock plates, and no noticeable performance increase.
I just got my Classic White Plates 2.0. I sorta wish I got the center skin with the patterns, but just opted in for the Matte Black skin. I'm happy with the combo as it gives it an OEM look. I decided to place an additional pre-order for Black Plates w/ the Pattern Skin, so hoping it ships by the end of this month (March).

Crazy exactly what I plan on doing to my ps5
I was hesitant to using 3rd party covers for the PS5, but lately I keep getting the heat warning message. Nothing's changed other than the games I'm playing are more graphically intense. I went ahead and ordered the Darkplates 2.0 after seeing reviews like this.
dbrand has identical quality to the official ps5 faceplates and they look better imo

Is there any issue with dust with the Dark plates 2.0? I heard that the original plates are made to make sure the ps5 gets proper ventilation is this true and does the dark plates 2.0 effect Ventilation in a negative way?
Sonny claimed no ventilation created a vacuum but their are tests on UA-cam that say otherwise especially when you throw a hot internal SSD .

The dark plates also have filters over the vents that can be removed and cleaned, just got a PS5 going do all this SSD upgrade

I ordered a set off amazon just to see how they compared. They didn't the plastic felt way cheaper and the mold wasn't nearly as clean. You get what you pay for I guess.
I purchased an aftermarket version of these plates on Amazon. Rounded edges with the fan cut outs. Had them for a year now and came up up with two things: 1. I didn't notice any extra or excessive dust within the PS5 and mine didn't come with the dust covers. 2. The new plates kept my PS5 6 degrees cooler (122 vs 128.1).
... Actually three things... 3. I like the aftermarket look better than the original.

@@lucasmoore8558 cabinets are not really great places to put electronics, believe it or not. But you should be fine if it's not jammed against the cabinet walls and has space to breathe. Be sure to use the stand that came with the PS5 so it doesn't lay flat.
