Tudor Miller I would find which communities are near you and just approach them via email in the first instance. Where abouts are you based? It’s much easier in big cities where there are lots of Shuls
Hey my father's side is Jewish, I'm second generation german American Jewish/Catholic family I was raised catholic but I never chose either religion can anyone help me on that
For anyone thinking they may feel isolated as a convert to Judaism: it’s actually a mitzvot for Jews to welcome converts, so it’s even a law to accept them! Lots of love to anyone converting❤️
Lali Cicek no not at all! I am a convert and the Midrash says that when Hashem gave Abraham many descendants, some of the souls were lost and the converts are the lost souls coming back to Judaism. Furthermore, it’s a belief that when the Messianic age comes, everyone will come to worship G’d in the ways Jews do, so everyone who isn’t a Jew will convert. Converts are treated as complete equals and I have never been treated as less of a Jew :))

Kellie Smith Yes for real. Anybody and everybody can call into Rabbi Tovia Singer’s weekly Sunday morning show on the TeNaK Talk UA-cam channel that airs live every Sunday morning throughout the year (except if a major Jewish Holiday falls on a particular Sunday then there is no show on that particular Sunday) and get their questions about Judaism answered by him live on air.
My husband converted from 1989-1990 while we we were dating. Yes, it took a year because our rabbi wanted him to live a full life in the footsteps of a Jewish person during holidays, celebrations and even shiva. He attended synagogue once a week, learned some Hebrew and read many books. He and the Rabbi learned together about a wide variety of topics almost weekly. David continued past this year in his learning and went on to learn chanting of the Torah. We participate and enjoy Jewish life as a family and individuals. I would suggest not speeding through conversion and taking the year.

To be honest I’m 19 I’ve been studying Judaism and jewish culture/ history since I was about 12 ha I know I wish to convert but I constantly question myself if I’m being genuine. I love jewish culture/community ❤
This is great! There is a lack of genuine content online for people who want to convert to Judaism ✡️. I can’t believe you actually met Anita Dianant! She is one of my favorite authors ❤️. Can’t wait for your book to come out!!
Thank you so much! We spoke over the phone unfortunately not in person but she truly wowed me! I am very grateful to have been able to interview her for my book.
try to shabat and holidays it's the most import in Judaism, the government give to the haredim make the conversion process they make it harder and reform Jewish changed our tradition into mockery, I am Jewish from israil many of us support to do the conversion process easier, you can also see that Jewish wear normal clothes my family are not yadish and most of the people in israil are not haredim and yadish,we follow our family tradition the but if some one want to live in israil as Jewish he need to do the haredim conversion price

"How to Convert to Judaism", now this has to be your best video topics yet! Either though I am not Jewish( I am Catholic as a matter of fact), I find it interesting how people go through the process of converting to different religions like Judaism. One of my best friends, who is really great, was born and raised Jewish( has a Ashkenazi Jewish background) and then converted to Catholicism later on in life. By watching your content, I believe many people, including myself, can gain so much of a clear understanding about Judaism even if there not Jewish since you explain things so beautifully and clearly. So excited to see the rest of your videos on the Jewish conversion series. I personally did not regret at all subscribing to your channel, it is one of the best and most intelligent decisions I made as someone who is on UA-cam! Thank you!
orland0110 I am also Catholic, but I agree with everything you said! It’s interesting to see different processes and you explain things so well- I have two cousins who are Jewish (my aunt- Mom’s sister- converted after she stopped going to church as a teenager and then she wanted to marry a Jewish man, who ended up becoming my uncle and the dad of my two cousins) and barely understand what they’re doing, so it’s been neat to learn from The Jewish Mommy Life.

Shalom! I am in the conversion process right now and your videos have been so helpful to me! Your channel is so unique and provides such a real experience and outlook on living a Jewish life! I am so excited about this series, just as I am for all of your videos! Thank you so much for all you do!
90% of the people in israil support to make the process easier but the people that control now conversion thing are haredim small groups of people that wear only specific cloth and can make the process harder to you they not represent the Judaism and my ancient culture ,reforms Jewish transform our tradition into mockery ,those 2 groups can confuse you, if you want to be Jewish you most do all our holiyday tradition and shabt, and don't eat things that Jewish don't eat

I'm a high schooler and I cant wait to begin the conversion process once I turn 18. I guess I could technically begin now but I feel weird about talking to my parents about it
Just a general question cuz m doing research on people changing their religions so why exactly do you want to convert to judaism. What’s in judaism that it’s not in your religion
@@extremeadventure2082 i wasn't raised religiously jewish but my family is, so the culture is already home for me. judaism puts a lot of emphasis on community and social justice, as well as ritual and debate. these things definitely exist in some other religions but the culture is so engrained in me that i don't really feel comfortable anywhere else
How wonderful! Excellent timing, I am into my first 7 months of studying to convert to Judaism. Since COVID-19, I having been studying with My Jewish Learning and you are correct - welcoming and loving.
@@mydivineiamchannel9654 After years of studying on my on and opening my heart, I was advised to investigate what denomination of Judaism - Conservative, Reform etc. spoke to me. Then I was advised to contact a Rabbi and make an appointment. After that I attended services from January - September/20 on my own to explore and familiarize myself. While continuing Zoom services that September, I started my studies with a group and my Rabbi which went to January/21. February 9/12 I made the joyful commitment and was allowed to convert.
@@birdlynn417 I went to services for 9 months, then studied with a group of converts through my Temple with the Rabbi. We had weekly classes for 6 months, as well as assignments. I still have "My Jewish Learning" coming to me daily.
Marion, as you know your videos have been a huge resource and motivation for me throughout my journey with Judaism which ultimately led to my decision to start the conversion process last year. And even though the final steps of my conversion have been delayed due to COVID, I’m still as excited about it as I was when I first started this journey. You are truly an inspiration and my experience with Judaism truly wouldn’t have been the same without your videos. I am so thankful for everything you do on your channel and continue to be inspired by your wisdom all the time❤️
Wow I am so overwhelmed to know that, thank you so much for sharing! I hope you are able to resume your conversion process and the delays don't continue to much further!
Wow this is perfect timing - I've been with my Jewish boyfriend for almost 5 years now and in the last 6 months I've spent so much more time with his family and gotten to experience holidays and traditions that I hadn't before. It has been so wonderful and has made me seriously consider converting. Thank you for this! I look forward to the other videos in this series.

i've been going to shul and attended jewish classes since December 2021, it's now May 2023 and my rabbi just asked me in to start my official conversion. one more year to go!
Hi Kelly! Excited to hear about this as I am also in the process of converting. While Jews dont proselytize, the number of folks who have virtually tried to push me toward orthodoxy is maddening. Judaism is so much more than orthodoxy, though there is of course a need and place for them in the community as well :)
Many people in israil support to do the conversion process much easier for you, it's hard to explain but the people that control the process have to much influence and politic, some rabbans will tell you that you need to change your clothes,it's not part of the ✡️culture and it's the problem that many people have, just know you have the support from 90% of israil Population, we israil support you
My husband myself and our 4 kids are in the process of converting, it’s taken a little over a year and the pandemic has made it take longer, we are currently in the process of setting a date for the mikvah and the BD, your channel has been so helpful during the process especially with our kids. We learned about pj library from you and my youngest love them. Thank you for your great content ❤️
Also pj library has launched a new program for 8-12 year olds where they get to choose their own chapter books. I think you could make a whole video about pj library different resources to help parents raise children jewishly 😊
Wow! I wish you and your family a sense of belonging with all my/your brethren. If you ever find yourself in Toronto, our door is always open to people like you. I myself married a convert... Much luck to you and your loved one's!!
I'd love to convert but I live in an area without a synagogue and I think they're mostly shut due to coronavirus sadly. One day it'll happen, my heart is set on it. Thanks for this video 💚💚💚
There's so many that are doing zoom/online streaming of services. Experiencing and participating in Jewish worship is a wonderful way to dip your toes in.
You are wearing a happy summertime blouse. Glad you explained that you know people, even in your family, who have converted. It helps make it more comfortable to those viewing the presentation that you know what they experienced as part of their process of conversion. You are so good to remind people that making a mistake is not the end of the world. I remember one time in school taking a letter from my French pen pal to my French teacher and showing her a mistake and asking did I have it wrong. She said that I was right and had to remember that native speakers of a language don't always use it well or speak it in the more formal fashion. It was a reminder that as a native English speaker, I can make mistakes when talking or writing. This is true of everything in life: we err, we misspeak, we do not know something. A huge part of getting on with life is freeing ourselves from the bondage fear of errors imposes. And no one is converting in order to disrespect a religion, a culture. That would be nonsense. It is so important for non-Jews to understand that among the 4 historical religions of the Levant only Christianity and Islam are evangelical and proselytize. So Jews and Zoroastrians are not likely to do or say anything to promote their belief system/practices, though it can be difficult for people in the process not to get encouragement. You are so right that those feeling urgings in the direction of conversion need to read perhaps a good Israelite/Jewish history or a book on the process of conversion or a book about Jewish cultural norms, particularly in our case in the U.S. with the sephardim and ashkenazim. Even go to a few sabbath suppers or seders at a friend's home or go to a local synagogue on Saturday where they use English when not in prayer or doing readings, just to dip a big toe in the water and see how it feels. Even to read a good book by someone like Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel can be a good entry point because he was a major theologian and moral thinker of the 20thc. Even his statement that the Bible is God's book about man, not man's book about God, is an important concept to be willing to consider and perhaps embrace as an initial idea of what the starting point may be for understanding holy writ, comprehending Hebrew Scriptures. In any written work, who the speaker is and who the audience is are crucial to one's learning. So you learn about the 4 primary sources of Hebrew Scripture and we know humans wrote it down, but the essential spiritual question could be, "What is God trying to tell me about myself and all other humans." It is a different perspective from getting nitpicky about are we allowed to touch a football made of pigskin. One may choose not to do so, but it is not a deep spiritual, philosophical question. It is more a piety one practices for one's own personal discipline, following, hearing. There are so many different sects of Orthodox and they have differing customs, etc. Pretty much Reform is Reform and Conservative is Conservative, but then there is Reconstructionist. What a good overview with appropriate links provided for those who want to explore this faith.
@@MyJewishMommyLife You are sharing what you have to offer and I am reciprocating by sharing what I have to offer. Otherwise, your generosity in sharing your life and faith and teaching us things would be like facilitating some sort of weird voyeurism, if there were not a type of relationship being developed, albeit on UA-cam, by knowledge, feelings being exchanged.
Oh my gosh, yess! thank you for making this a series! I am quite young but i’ve had my heart set on Judaism for a couple of years now and i’m constantly looking for videos and information to hopefully make my conversation process easier when i eventually get to it. My first video i found by you was actually your Mikvah video. i found it 𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑦 informative and helpful. I love you and your content, thank you!

I'm actually interested in learning more about Judaism. I was raised a Christian - but, as a Christian I always felt an affinity for Judaism. And when the pandemic lockdown began last March, I decided to familiarize myself with the Torah by finding rabbinical lessons on UA-cam. Well, I found their lessons to be extremely enlightening - and through their lessons I learned about the Noahide Laws (which really caught my interest) and I started thinking about conversion. However, realizing the enormous decision conversion is, I figured (once the pandemic is over) I would look to join a synagogue as a Noahide first - but I'm not sure how to choose which Jewish denomination would be right for me. How do I choose between Reform, Conservative, Reconstructionist (not even sure what this one is) or Orthodox?
I felt like I needed to come back and say that I watched this video in September of 2020 and have been actively converting at a Conservative synagogue since December. Thank you so much for posting this video. It changed my life

I've been in conversion limbo since late 2019. The local mikvah was under construction when I officially finished everything my Rabbi wanted me to do before converting..... and then quarantine happened so i couldn't use the mikvah. I'm this close 👌 to having my mikvah in a river/ lake
Iv'e always saw myself as Jewish, as a child I was raised around Jews and went to a Jewish school so I was pretty familiar. It became my own custom. Though the rest of my family isn't jewish and just recently Iv'e thought about actually converting..do you have any advice??? I'm stuck in quarentine so I have no idea how to find a Rabbi or anything like that. The area I live in (now) is also very christian/catholic and Judiasm around here is seen as a 'taboo' so to speak and its very disheartening for me.
Iv'e wanted to convert for years but never had the opportunity because of how its seen where I live currently, I'll be moving when possible back to where I'm originally from with a big (or bigger) Jewish population. I'm also a lesbian and in a pretty bad home situation right now concerning homophobia. With Christianity I always felt like a burden , not as if i ever considered myself christian though , but not a single Jewish person has ever been hurtful to me regarding that (or really, ever in general) . It's made me feel safer so I'd like to convert. I'm very serious about this;
I recently found out that my ancestors are crypto Jews from the Canary Islands. I have always felt deep in my heart and every fiber of my being a strong connection with the Jewish faith. Conversion to Judaism ✡️ for me would literally be the one thing that gives my life purpose and meaning. I subscribed.
I’m contemplating converting to Judaism. I’ve been Christian and I been pegan and I thought about being Jewish when I was a teenager. I am 22 know and I’m now dating a Jewish man. And I want to become a better, happier person. I’m hearing the Jewish faith knocking on my door once again. I will need some time to learn and to think about it. I understand that if I dicide to become Jewish it will be a life long commitment.
the only thing that orthodoxy say that most people in israil don't agreed with them, they say that you need to change the cloth and wear only black dress and cover the hair it's not part of ✡️ culture ,you can wear what you want ,look on the israily womans but the other things you most to do as shabbat and the, holidays and eat things that allow and just know that our people support to do the process much easier as it were before many years it's Complicated to explain everything here
Thank you thank you thank youuuu for this video series! I am in the process of conversion and speaking with a Rabbi. I actually grew up in northern VA (Fairfax) with my husband and we love your home, it makes me miss that area! FL homes are so different, hah! I cannot tell you how much I look forward to more of your videos.
Wow thank you so much for your exceptionally kind comment, it made my day to read!! And that is too funny about the home because me and my husband always talk about how much we want to buy a house in Florida! We would always visit his grandparents in Boca and say so!

I am a practicing Catholic woman who has been contemplating conversion into the Jewish Faith for a very long time. I finally decided to look at the videos here. I fell in love with the idea of only worshipping one G-d. I also have heard a few Rabbi speak of G-d with a strong love. I find that there is no contradiction between G-d and what is written as I do in Catholicism. I decided to listen to your video today and I liked what I heard. Especially that those who wish to convert will be welcomed. I so look forward to watching more of your videos. Shalom
It took my husband a little over a year to convert. What a beautiful process... Now, he is just as Jewish as any other jew (he speaks and reads Hebrew better than I do 🤷♀️🤔😉😍) Thanks for this video!

i’m 99% sure i have jewish ancestry and it breaks my heart that that culture isn’t apart in my life i’m not sure if i want to convert but i want to learn about it :)
Cringe. This is a religion (which is non true and that's quite obvious seeing the part of the Talmud where you can read that God says that the creed of the rabbis is more intelligent than God and God must obey them). If you have Jewish ancestry that's ok but don't do something as stupid as converting to it just because of that
@Elias Lopez With some exceptions. If Judaism has been lost for a too many generations, full conversions are necessary. For example, descendants of marranos from Spain. They require full conversion even if they can trace their matrimonial lineage all the way back to 1400's Spain.
I took the Miller Introduction to Judaism Program course online. It was really great with Rabbi Greenwald, you also interviewed. Really a nice person and it was a very tolerant and lovely group.
I had my mikvah set for April, then the lockdowns started. After 1 year of work and waiting, I was devastated to know that I had to wait longer since I was so looking forward to that moment. Last month (July) I could finally go through the Beit din and I had my mikvah in the ocean! I am a Reform convert and after hearing so many negative comments about the movement I expected the ceremony to be very superficial, but it was one of the most powerful and meaningful moments of my entire life.
@@dumbphonemom I feel so sorry for u! It’s just not something people know when converting, and most ppls spiritual thirst simply isn’t quenched with Reform Judaism. And as I’ve commented many times on this video, my wife and I have an open hone to people like you in Toronto.
I've recently contacted a rabbi, due to my ancestry being traced back to Warsaw Poland, my great great grandfather and mother were polish jews.... killed in auschwitz... im proud to undergo the process... its my only link to maybe understanding them, and most of all.... a small measure of peace for myself.
To shorten a long story . There was a heathen who said ,I will convert to Judism if someone can teach me all of the Torah while I stand one foot . The man stated this to Rabbi Shemmai . Shemmai pick up a rod and began to beat the man; how foolish ,it takes years to learn the Torah. The same man went to Rabbi Hillel and ask the same thing. Hillel responded . That is simple . While the man stood on one foot ;Hillel replied, Love God with all your heart and anything you don't like , don't do to anyone else. All the rest is commentaries . Now , go and study the commentaries. You remind me of Hillel so many times . Thank you!

I’m 16 and am trying to convert. Unfortunately, I live in Bible Belt Texas and a lot of the synagogues are closed near me. But my great-grandparents were Jewish and I want to do that too! Thank you for your advice ❤️
I feel converts tend to have the better and more pure knowledge due to them seeking it at a later age. Yes it’s overwhelming and that is more of a testimony to the effort they put it.
I'm a Rosicrucian gnostic wanting to convert to Judaism but every time I have tried I get blocked by religious gatekeepers, so I'm studying it in my home by myself. As an occultist, I'm already pretty familiar with Judaism, including Kabbalah.
I’m going to convert once I finish college so I can actually put my time and effort into it One of the things that initially drew me to it is that they don’t convert My family is catholic on my moms side, SO SO CATHOLIC my mom converted my dad to Catholicism from prodistantism The way Christians convert is just not for me
What attracts you to Judasim? It's sure not an easy religion to adhere to with all it's 613 commandments and many more rabbinic prohibitions on top of that! I say this as an orthodox Jew and am genuinely curious what the attraction is...

I loved the resources you provided in this video. My great-grandmother was Jewish from Hungary (her surname was Beres) and she married my Mexican great-grandfather, coincidentally surnames Perez. We kept a small percentage of Jewish traditions growing up but my mother and her sisters converted to Christianity back in the 90s. After digging deeper into my genealogy and discovering my Hungarian ancestry, I decided to convert (part spiritual journey and part need to continue the Jewish line) but since it’s been so long and according to Halakha, my mother isn’t considered Jewish since my grandmother is Roman Catholic, I had to go with the whole conversion process. I spoke with a reform Rabbi who accepted me as a Jew but I wanted to join an orthodox sect. The orthodox rabbi is currently having me undergo training with reading and understanding Hebrew and observing all the holidays and traditions. I’m hoping I can get an appointment with the Beit Din soon I think I’m ready. I’m so excited to start a new spiritual chapter in my life.
I was born and raised as a muslim. Growing up i was pretty much a skeptic and eventually became an atheist(explains my username). However my life always revolved around abrahamic religions morals and lifestyle. From my diet to the way I carry myself. Eventually I realise i love the abrahamic religions and read more into each of them. Which I came to a conclusion I really love Judaism but because clearly, by my looks I can be identified as a muslim and the tensions of jews and muslims today, I have never gotten the chance to talk to a rabbi. Ive tried through friends, emailing a synagogue. No one got back to me. I wish whatever that was mentioned in this video was that easy ive tried doing many things thinking maybe if i put in more effort god will see my interest and lead me but Im still the same. I get that we need to do lots of studying but, I dont know what more do i have to read. It has been 2 years now and I still made no progress and it upsets me so much. I just wish to have someone guiding me so I can feel that I am connected to this religion and somewhat acknowledged.
Thank you so much. I didn't start until halfway through covid. Sadly in my area, most synagogues are still closed so everything is email and Zoom. I'm also pregnant with #2, I'll be a mum of 2 under 3. So far it's all contact with email and an entire conversion book list before I enroll in the course. It's exciting and overwhelming ❤

It's so strange. I've been having a recurring dream about converting to Judaism. I don't believe in mysterious dreams and their meanings but this is odd and somewhat profound.
While we will never proselytize, we do believe that there are many "lost souls" such as the 10 Israelite tribes banished from Israel by Sancherib who are finding their way back to their DNA roots. I find it fascinating when people like you have these recurring dreams, as though some supernatural power is beckoning you. How far can you trace your roots back?
Started watching your channel and love what you’re doing. I’m a humanist with a growing interest in Judaism (particularly Conservative/Masorti Judaism) and have even taken intro classes at local synagogue last year and loved what I learned. My partner is humanist too so I walk a fine line between tradition and secularism. I’ll continue to search and learn and HaShem willing the path will open up to me what I need to do next. Keep up the great work in sharing! shalom! ✡️

My name is Natalie and I am Trans-Woman and I just fully completed my process to Conservative Judaism on October 20 , 2020 (5781 according Jewish Calendar ). I chose Naomi as my Hebrew name .
Converted to Judaism myself. The first thing I'd definitely recommend is to visit different communities and try to make Jewish friends. I found that the hardest thing as the Jewish community tends to be a close group (sometimes the gossip may recall high school, at least for me), so I wouldn't have anyone to spend holidays with as my family of course does not celebrate it. I don't know Marion if you want to host people, I kind of have my personal list of "dos and don't with conversion candidates" and maybe I could send it to you. It's ironic and not at the same time.

I am a Seventh Day Adventist Christian. This is a denomination that has chosen Saturday also known as Sabbath as its day of worship and is awaiting the second advent (second coming of Jesus). I feel a sense of connection to Judaism. When I read the Bible, I find Jews as the people who make the stories of the Bible. Talk of Abraham, Moses, Jacob , Joseph, David etc. God purposely established the Jews to lead other nations to His truth. From my perspective, Judaism birthed Christianity and I salute Jews for that role.

I’m so glad to have found your videos. I’m 21 and have wanted to convert to Judaism since I was at least 15. I was raised secularly by my parents so they would allow us to choose what we believe in. My friend is supporting me all the way, and will even take me to her synagogue on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur this year!!!!
Thank you for educating all of us. My 14 yr old is identifying as Jewish now, as his father, my X-spouse was brought up "Jewish". My son is really wanting to learn about Judaism, so we appreciate your videos so much! Wish they were available for me about about 25 yrs :)
So I just discovered your channel and am already hooked! In particular bc my husband and I are also Conservative Jews and share your mindset on a lot of your perspectives. I love the way our movement remains halachic but frames our Judaism in the context of the modern world. I also tend to feel more religious than my husband, and Conservative Judaism gives us that place where both of us can feel comfortable. I had to chime in here, though, bc I'm also a Jew by choice! My experience was definitely a little bit unique bc I had always known and spent time with other Jews, and my (Jewish) husband and I met when we were still teenagers in college and had been already together 25 years when I decided to convert! So all the holidays, simchas, services, songs, prayers, foods, and expressions were already familiar to me (but a lot still wasn't). I was raised in a non-Jewish German family, where we celebrated Christmas and (sort of) Easter, but we went to church only once a year on Christmas Eve. Although I'm super close to my family, I definitely always had different leanings and beliefs in many regards. They often expressed ways of looking at the world that I didn't share, some of which I've come to discover to be very Jewish. In many ways, I think I was born to be a Jew, even though I wasn't born a Jew. So I think I was lucky in that my conversion was not so much of an adjustment as for some people. I will say I meet converts who are so Jewish that you'd never know they weren't raised Jewish, and I've met those who still don't seem to feel totally at home even after twenty years. Me, I'm a bit obsessed with all things Jewish and probably was all along, only since my conversion, it's gotten much, much worse, haha! Some congregants who've converted, however, decided to lay low once they completed their conversion. It's all good either way. The best way to be Jewish is the way that fits you. I have so many experiences, stories, and insights to share about conversion, that if anyone has questions, please feel free to DM me, and I'll share with you first hand what everything was like. Also, shout out to AJU! I was actually scheduled to do my mikveh immersion there (bc there is no non-Orthodox mikveh in San Diego), but bc my husband wasn't sure he could drive with me, it was three hours away, and bc I really wanted my rabbis to be part of my day, I decided to do the immersion locally in the world's largest Kosher mikveh -- the Pacific Ocean. A totally different experience than the enclosed serenity of a traditional mikveh and yet, as it turned out, extremely meaningful, bc as I was being heaved back and forth, up and down, in that powerful, massive, salty water, I felt so small and humbled, as if I were in the belly of G-d, and that really drove home that my conversion wasn't all about me but about something much bigger. I was super happy to have done it that way. Take care! Tom
Tom!! Shanah Tovah! Although I may just know you from this comment I feel an instant connection. You sound like such a kind, caring and interesting person. I’m so glad your spiritual journey took you where you wanted to be and I’m also very impressed with your Pacific mikvah! I’m wishing you a meaningful Yom Kippur and thank you for watching my video!

In my entire community and my friends who are also Jewish it is INCREDIBLY RUDE to ask if you have converted. You're still a jewish person no matter what.
Yeah I’m glad you made this cuz there is difference between going out and trying to convert someone and offering potential converts information if they are interested ya know. So thanks!
Only took me 10 years to convert . After I converted, I ended up in Israel in a Yeshiva for awhile, and now I'm back in New York.. I find dating complicated. I seem to get matched with super religious Jews and I'm looking for someone more Modern. The last person I dated literally ended everything because I refuse to have a filter on my phone, and hated the fact I had a TV...
This video is a godsend. I have wanted to convert since 2012, but I had to give up on it when I met my fiancé. He doesn’t want to convert, tho. We decided to marry in the Catholic Church. But lately, I’ve been feeling something calling me to pray the prayers and to celebrate Shabbat and eat kosher. It’s so strong in me, I can’t fight it. I really need to convert. What can I do?
Shalom ! Thanks for your beautiful video very inspiring. I would add liberal Jews! Thanks again as your videos are so inspiring. Good luck with your book!
I’ve been a Christian for many years And I read the Bible so much I read that King David meditated on the law referring to the Torah the Torah is truth.
Thank you so much for your Hopeful words. I've recently had a child out of wedlock one and one half years ago and I strive to know God to teach my daughter the right ways in life. I feel lost right now and I wish to be found of my own accord. Judaism in the eyes of this gentile seems to have no hypocrisy unlike our Cristian counterparts and I value this. Please help me know God.
@John Quinn reform Jewish think they can rewrite our torah and books how much they want for their aganda they make mockery to the Jewish ancient cultures and haredim Jewish make the conversion process harder then he need to be most people don't agreed with the haredim about 2 things for example to wear the same things as them and make hard test for people that want to do the conversion process, As people we never wear the same things at least the haredim show respect to our culture I don't agreed with haredim and reforms the most

Thank you for this video. This is very interesting. Although I'd like to say that as a Christian I'm not allowed to persuade people to convert to Christianity. It could be a misconception that's from the past, but to convert to Christianity must be fully voluntarily.

Love it that you got the basics there l recommend also sharing the lack of acceptance in other sects if you convert to certain sects. And the need to keep all the laws as a convert and just how many laws there are vs someone born Jewish. There is a lot of requirement to prove your commitment for converts to Judaism that isn't required of people born Jewish. With that said converts are welcomed once fully converted and commited though conversion is highly discouraged.
My daughter has thought for many years about conversion based on what she learned about Judaism during MASSIVE AMOUNTS OF study on The Shoah. Her difficulty in actually starting is her problem believing in a God that would allow all of these evils to happen to those he loves so desperately.

Very true, thank you!

"How to Convert to Judaism", now this has to be your best video topics yet!

Theres no synagogues but most of them are closed? What???

Thank you for sharing all of this great information! I appreciate all the time and effort you always put into your comments.
@@MyJewishMommyLife You are sharing what you have to offer and I am reciprocating by sharing what I have to offer.
It changed my life
I'm 14. judaism brings me so much peace. I'm so happy i've started following it and started my conversion process.

I am Indigenous & have learned some of my birth mother's relatives were Jewish. So now I am looking to learn as much as possible.
I've been in conversion limbo since late 2019. The local mikvah was under construction when I officially finished everything my Rabbi wanted me to do before converting..... and then quarantine happened so i couldn't use the mikvah. I'm this close 👌 to having my mikvah in a river/ lake
Oh my goodness how frustrating!! I hope things work out soon!

Omg! Good luck! I hope you get your mikveh soon!
Iv'e wanted to convert for years but never had the opportunity because of how its seen where I live currently, I'll be moving when possible back to where I'm originally from with a big (or bigger) Jewish population. I'm also a lesbian and in a pretty bad home situation right now concerning homophobia. With Christianity I always felt like a burden , not as if i ever considered myself christian though , but not a single Jewish person has ever been hurtful to me regarding that (or really, ever in general) . It's made me feel safer so I'd like to convert. I'm very serious about this;
I recently found out that my ancestors are crypto Jews from the Canary Islands.

Thank you thank you thank youuuu for this video series! I am in the process of conversion and speaking with a Rabbi.

Shalom

@Elias Lopez what about fathers side?
@@jazgeo1957 nope. Judaism is matrilineal, which means it can only be carried through the female bloodline. ☺️
Cringe. This is a religion (which is non true and that's quite obvious seeing the part of the Talmud where you can read that God says that the creed of the rabbis is more intelligent than God and God must obey them). If you have Jewish ancestry that's ok but don't do something as stupid as converting to it just because of that
@@jazgeo1957 depends on the sect
Sadly, you are not considered Jewish by most denominations, but glad you found solace in your journey.

Thank you!
That is such a kind thing to say, thank you so much for sharing that beautiful poetic story and for the very meaningful compliment!

Wow! Amazing that you're learning about your family history in this way!

My name is Natalie and I am Trans-Woman and I just fully completed my process to Conservative Judaism on October 20 , 2020 (5781 according Jewish Calendar ). I chose Naomi as my Hebrew name .
How long did it take you to convert?
Converted to Judaism myself. The first thing I'd definitely recommend is to visit different communities and try to make Jewish friends. I found that the hardest thing as the Jewish community tends to be a close group (sometimes the gossip may recall high school, at least for me), so I wouldn't have anyone to spend holidays with as my family of course does not celebrate it. I don't know Marion if you want to host people, I kind of have my personal list of "dos and don't with conversion candidates" and maybe I could send it to you. It's ironic and not at the same time.
That's really good advice! It's always hard to find a new community and can be especially tough when it's part of the conversion process for sure!

There is history and different between the Jewish group and more if you need information you can alway ask me or someone else as you wish
But lately, I’ve been feeling something calling me to pray the prayers and to celebrate Shabbat and eat kosher. It’s so strong in me, I can’t fight it. I really need to convert. What can I do?
So glad it was helpful for you!
If your partner does not want to convert as well then no Beit Din will do it. Behatzlacha
Shalom ! Thanks for your beautiful video very inspiring. I would add liberal Jews! Thanks again as your videos are so inspiring. Good luck with your book!
I cannot wait for the rest! As I said before, you are a born teacher.
Aww you are so kind, thank you!
Very much looking forward to this wee series. I hope you're keeping well Marion. X
Thank you so much, you too!
I have respect for converts even though I am born Jewish.
Your are such a wonderful person! Positive vibes evrytime I watch your videos.
Thought about converting to reform Judaism myself.
Nice!
@John Quinn Sad , but true..
@John Quinn reform Jewish think they can rewrite our torah and books how much they want for their aganda they make mockery to the Jewish ancient cultures and haredim Jewish make the conversion process harder then he need to be most people don't agreed with the haredim about 2 things for example to wear the same things as them and make hard test for people that want to do the conversion process, As people we never wear the same things at least the haredim show respect to our culture I don't agreed with haredim and reforms the most
KYTim89 I want you to ask Rabbi Tovia Singer who has a weekly call-in show every Sunday: 9:00am to 11:00am/855-95-BIBLE on the TeNaK Talk UA-cam channel and ask him any questions that you may have about Judaism and he will answer your questions live on air.
I'm 19, I feel a connection to jewish people and to judaism. My reason for learning about this religion and ethnic group isn't for the sake of marriage. Luckily I'm a male, if I convert and marry a jewish woman my children should be accepted in the community
you want to talk I can explain you many things
Update?
Definitely going to subscribe. Iv been doing a lot of research and something is really pulling me to converting idk what it is maybe I was Jewish in my past life. I watched a video on the meaning of Shabbat and why it is and I swear it made me cry lol
Thank you for this video. This is very interesting. Although I'd like to say that as a Christian I'm not allowed to persuade people to convert to Christianity. It could be a misconception that's from the past, but to convert to Christianity must be fully voluntarily.
I converted to Judaism in 2011!!
I’m 15(almost 16) and I feel really strongly towards the Jewish religion and I’m wondering if I’m able to go through with the conversion, despite my age ?
Hi Heather! Check out Episode 3 in this series if you haven't yet as the Rabbi I interview talks in depth about this exact question!
Heather Grant I want you to ask Rabbi Tovia Singer who has a weekly call-in show every Sunday: 9:00am to 11:00am/855-95-BIBLE on the TeNaK Talk UA-cam channel and ask him any questions that you may have about Judaism and he will answer your questions live on air.
I am in the process of converting! I converted reform 10 years ago, but I knew that wasn’t for me. I’m in a community, studying with a rabbi and have had my first meeting with the beit din. I love it!
That's awesome! I hope you find the community you're seeking!

I think I was talking to one of the rabbis one time thinking about a week ago at the Western Wall the city of King David
This is a very interesting take, thank you for sharing and yes I hope to cover as much as I can about what people want to know!
@@MyJewishMommyLife that's awesome!
My daughter has thought for many years about conversion based on what she learned about Judaism during MASSIVE AMOUNTS OF study on The Shoah. Her difficulty in actually starting is her problem believing in a God that would allow all of these evils to happen to those he loves so desperately.
