Had a patient who drove himself to the ER after being stabbed twice in the chest - both of his lungs were collapsed. After he was stabilized, we asked him why he drove instead of calling 911. He said the ambulance would have taken longer than his own car. 💀💀💀
That man is a hero. How he managed to do that is literally impossible to know, not being able to breathe, the panic, the will to survive all of that is just mind boggling that he worked through it all and made it to the hospital. Wow.
The trad husband story ps me right off... He'd rather his wife be depressed and hate her life, than be able to have friends. Not an affair. Not a cult. FRIENDS. My friend got married in Alabama at 14 in the 90s. She was visiting her dad for the summer. We all lived in Washington State. Mom got it annulled as soon as she found out because she was the custodial parent

My husband became paralyzed on his dominant side (left) after a big heart operation which was a miracle. My children helped with physio, washing him , getting in / out of car and the wheelchair. After his death my daughter admitted to me that, previously she saw people in wheelchairs , remembered strangers talk over their father as if the wheelchair made him invisible or unworthy to acknowledge. Now, when they see a stranger in a wheelchair, they greet them and comment on the wheelchair . Just like people would about different car models.
My father became paralysed from waist down after aneurysm caused spinal stroke. He had a life saving op but less than 10% chance survival. He survived but now suffers many health issues. I hate when people look down on him as he already feels awful. He is a veteran and was disabled after the army but not to this extent he is now. Sorry you lost him. Sending hugs 💜

Inheritance story: I think it's fine that OP treated her daughter and stepkids the same when they were growing up. However, that doesn't mean the stepkids are entitled to receive any Inheritance from OP's family. In the story, OP's husband is divorced so where is his ex-wife and her family in the stepkids' lives. They have much more responsibility for those kids than OP and her family.
I'm surprised no one knows that in the state of California, there is no minimum age requirement for a minors' marriage with parental consent. And there is no federal minimum age of consent that would make this invalid. States are allowed to make their own laws and rules regarding marriage. In the state of California, the child has a valid SS , parents consent , nothing prevents the judge from processing the marriage . It is within good faith most people would hope that the judge would use their discretion and not allow the marriage, but it is not illegal to allow it.
My Grandmother in the middle of cooking xmas dinner sliced her finger open. She literally walked into the bathroom and stitched her finger back together. No numbing 😵
Riley better be careful about public urination because if someone reported him, then he could be charged for public indecency! And if convicted, he'd have to register as a sex offender for a period of time. It's not worth it bro! Just use a toilet! Gosh haven't you ever been in a place with a lot of homeless people? The smell of old urine is horrendous!

I like the Quebec law where the person over 18 cannot be 4 years older than the minor getting married. Even though I obviously think that 16 is too young , at least they are preventing pedophilia more than the US. Good for Canada.
Also, don't know if it's still the case, but when I was growing up in WV you could get married with a judge's consent if the bride was pregnant at under 12. This was the 1960s.
I drove to the hospital while in labor, rushed to Labor and Delivery, and gave birth naturally without pain meds to my son. You can do anything when motivated.
Using super glue and duct tape to seal up wounds is very common down south.. I’m sure we’re not the only ones who do this but I cannot tell you how many people I know (including myself) who have used this “method” rather than going to the er. Especially older folks. I’m a hairdresser and I actually cut my freaking knuckle damn near off about 7 years ago.. I’m anemic so I bleed fairly easy and a lot. Bandaids just weren’t working. I bled straight through them and went through an entire box of bandaids. Finally I found some gauze and duct tape. Worked like a charm. I’ve used duct tape several times for cuts in the middle of a haircut bc sometimes the bandaids just don’t hold well enough.
Deffo not the only ones to use glue. It was first used on the battle ground to get people up and out and back fighting. But it works if it's a small superficial cut.
My dad super glued his cracked tooth back in bc he couldn’t afford a dentist😂😂😂 I swear southerners use super glue and duct tape like the Grecian father used windex in “My Big Fat Greek Wedding”😂
I have bladder issues and a lot of places don’t have public restrooms unless you’re purchasing something. Lots of gas stations in my area just don’t have bathrooms. So I am used to popping a squat and I don’t see the issue with peeing outside occasionally. Of course, don’t get caught! You could catch a charge for that 😭
SAME!! And yes.. it’s common sense not to pee somewhere that you could possibly be exposed. I’m pretty sure (with an exception of children and boyfriends/husbands.. ohh yea and drunk women.. who don’t really care if they pee right in front of you 😂😂) outside pee’ers make sure they are hidden. It’s just pee etiquette.
I can’t believe I’m admitting this, but I’ve even peed in my backyard and I’m a chick! I couldn’t find my keys bc I had to pee so bad so it was either in my pants or cop a squat🤫
I’ve done it thousands of times. Thousands. I use to keep TP and a trash bag in my car just in case I needed to pop a squat. Of course, I live in the sticks so it’s really not that uncommon for everyone to pee outside.
I’m with Riley with the superglue. They literally use superglue in the hospitals now (instead of stitches), as long as there isn’t anything underneath that they have to fix. Even family members that are nurses use glue instead of going to the hospital (for themselves). Glue is $3. A hospital bill is $30k.
1:41:50 dude this story is so fucking sad! It sounds like the daughter is embarrassed of her poor sick Mom who needs love and help. I hope the wife keeps getting better more and more! I hope all 3 of them are able to bring their bond back together.
Inheritance story: I wonder if a conversation was had with the stepchild about a turning 17 house. Because if it didn’t, the child is coming across as entitled. Where is the bio mother in the situation? Shouldn’t any gifts/inheritance come from the child’s parents instead of them relying on OP to provide for their children? If the stepchildren get an inheritance from their parents then get an inheritance from OP, they are getting double the inheritance that OP’s daughter will end up with and that is not fair to the daughter!
Marriage age is allowed with parents consent, on underage in 40 states, and only 10 of these have minimum ages. I am surprised that this is a surprise to you. It is a huge issue for women as it is mainly girls married off at 8, 10 etc.
My husband shot a nail through his hand with a nail gun and wanted me to pull it out!! I couldn’t so he clamped it to something and pulled it out himself. Of course, he didn’t go to the ER. And he peed in the backyard, but we live in the country so I guess that’s ok!!
Not John, Sam and Riley only just learning child marriage is still legal in parts of the US 😭. Usually if theres parental consent, I believe. Its disgusting.
30:46 you guys are making it sound like Riley is outside dancing around with his man parts out! Haha Let Riley pee outside. He’s saving the environment. He’s saving water and power by not having to flush the toilet!!
Lol right?! I was starting to feel like I was crazy for not thinking it’s that big of a deal for Riley to pee outside. I mean.. obviously, you shouldn’t do it out in public where people can see you. But he’s right about being out in the country.. that’s not a big deal at all. It’s how I potty trained my son. Just like a lot of other parents where I’m from. Hell, I’ve even “popped a squat” many, many times.
Hope your girlfriend doesn’t mind Riley, but for me the peeing outside would be an absolute turn off. 😮 There are exceptions of course, but very few. Unless there is absolutely no way to use toilet nearby it’s a no-no.
i’m not even sure if the husband loves the wife with literature major, it’s like he married her so she could throw away her life and be caged at home taking care of stuff for him and that she’s not worth having anything since it would inconvenience him (by requiring to help with dishes from time to time or smh lol).. it’s toxic, i’m so sorry she has spent such a long time with him and i really jope she’ll run and she’ll run fast
I was diagnosed with cancer in the ER. I was there for an anaphylactic reaction to Allegra. They did a CT because of abdominal pain which is normal for an allergic reaction but they wanted to check anyway. I have stage 3 invasive adenocarcinoma. The cancer tumor is just a little smaller than a grapefruit. This is my second time having cancer. The first time my son's distanced themselves from me because it was to painful and scary to acknowledge what I was going through. It's been 9 yrs since then and this time they're both doing everything they can to help me. My youngest and his gf are moving in with me to help me as I go through chemo radiation and the surgeries we all know I'll have in a few months. They regretted their actions and I didn't hold it against them because they were kids and it was hard for them to watch the person they always saw as unbreakable suddenly in a life or death situation and there was no control over the outcome
I drove myself to the hospital with a 3rd degree burn. Had literally put a fire out in my house without anything but my hands and the baling soda i had cuz i had no time. My arms and hands were blistered and bleeding and i was in screaming agony. Drove there just fine 😂😂😂😂 shit suckkkkeesddd
I (F49) pee outside near my chicken coop to keep predators away. I would LIKE my dogs to do it, but my dogs prefer to pee elsewhere because they consider our hens their family and rude to pee in the hens' space.
My friend got married in Alabama at 14 in the 90's. Her mom got it annulled when she found out. Her dad had signed for it. Mom was custodial guardian she was visiting her dad for the summer.
I think my parent’s deal for a first car is one of the best ways to go about it. For our first cars they would match whatever we were giving and pay half for a car. My first car cost $8,000 and I paid $4,000 of it while my parents covered the rest. My brother wanted a nicer car and so spent more of his own money on his half so my parents matched and paid half for that car. This way we still had to learn about saving and spending money while still being able to get a nice car if we wanted
In my state, age of consent is 16, you can get married at 17 with parental consent. You can get married at 16 if you petition the court and they approve it.
Idk, I’m either stupid or brave… maybe both? I have driven myself to the hospital in labor twice and drove myself when I had an ovarian cyst rupture too. 😂
I think the post about the husband asking the wife not to hang out with her friend is actually written by the wife. The way it was written definitely paints the wife and the friends as the best people and the husband as the stupid, unreasonable one. I mean, she's a literature major, and she's pretty good at writing if her friend asked her to start writing some articles. The husband sounds totally asshole-ish that it feels fake. He can't be aware of the wife and her friend's good qualities yet be so unaware of his faults. Like, if he wrote this and read what he wrote, he would obviously know how unreasonable he sounds. Why would he post this and expect to be called anything less than an asshole? I think the wife wrote this, but she doesn't want to come off as someone who badmouths her husband, so it's written in the husband's pov. Or maybe she's flexing her writing skills. She should just get a divorce since this is how she views her husband.
No, these guys have an inflated sense of self worth and believe that anything they do is good because they're the one doing it. There are several posts of guys talking about destroying their girlfriends property, or cheating, or getting rid of pets and having no self awareness that they're making themselves look awful (and they're writing to make themselves look better, imagine how bad they actually are if this is the squeaky version). This story feels like it's written by someone like my oh so loving cousin who will be really polite and talk about how people he doesn't agree with aren't bad people, right before calling them disgusting degenerates.
I have neuromyelitis Optica and my family/girlfriend is constantly saying they regret not paying attention to my symptoms and not realizing it was so bad until I couldn’t walk at all and passing out while trying to walk. I had symptoms that gradually got worse over a year
When my son was 5, we were at the airport waiting to be picked up. He told me he had to pee. I had all 3 of my kids with me and didn't want to take everyone and all our luggage back inside to find a bathroom. I said he could hold it because we would be home soon. Next thing I know, he has dropped his pants, and he leans back and starts peeing in a huge arc over the sidewalk and laughing like a maniac. What could I do? I just looked the other way and hid my face in my hands.
If you go listen to the podcast "some place underneath" they did an awesome multiple part series on child marriage in the US (I haven't researched for Canada). Sadly the majority of states allow it, some states don't even hace a minimum. It is often used to avoid statutory rape charges. I have nothing else to add, it's tragic :(
Definitely chopped the tip of my finger off at work and didn't want to go the hospital for "being stupid" so I went home and cauterized it myself. My ex husband nearly passed out lol
I cut off the tip of my thumb cooking dinner last month. My mom gifted me a new knife set that was horribly balanced and they attacked. I wasn't even cutting something dangerous like sweet potato, it was lettuce! We were having shrimp salads for dinner. Funny enough, it was the same day as the total eclipse, so the doctor told me to blame that 😂. I yelled at my husband to bring gauze and he all but threw me in the car demanding the ER. Good thing, I guess, because I was apparently anemic at the time and it didn't want to stop bleeding. I lost at least 25 oz of blood. They had to cauterize it and I still bled through three more gauze wraps. Read online that if you cut off around a 1/4th an inch or less that it will grow back, shockingly, it appears to be true. Aside from the scars from the cauterization, it is nearly back to normal.
I personally know a woman married at 15. US States allow marriages between older people and basically children. Now, if they just have sex the elder can go to jail at the same age. But get married, sure.
If I looked out the window and saw a partner of mine peeing on the lawn or on the plants I would be very upset. Like grounds for break up upset. It feels super disrespectful and incredibly unhygienic. Like that's really gross. Out camping or in an emergency situation (not wanting to go inside your gfs parents house is not an emergency) is one thing, but there is no reason you should regularly be peeing outside in public places, especially on someone elses plants what the heck. If you have your own private property do what you want I guess but on public property or on someone else's property??? And do you just leave after that without washing your hands or anything? It would give me huge levels of ick to see a partner doing that, and then seeing nothing wrong with it.
Although I believe step parents should treat their step kids as equal children I think when the question of inheritance comes up it’s a lot more iffy. I mean OP kid doesn’t have another parent where as the step kids do so it wouldn’t actually be fair for it to be so split among the kids when the other two are going to end up with more anyway
I'm trans. My state is trying to make it a law that if a trans women to uses a woman's bathroom, or a trans man to use the men's bathroom. They can get charged with a felony. With that being said. I support peeing outside. Trans people are gonna have issues no matter where they pee. So what makes the difference? 🤷🏼♂️
For the 1st story: abusers often start showing their true colors when pregnancy happens. This is probably because they feel like their partner is trapped in the relationship. Vulnerability is also a factor. In the case of a male abuser, the woman is at her most vulnerable. In the case a female abuser, the man can easily get turned into a pariah if he stands up to or defends himself against a pregnant woman. It's really scarry how people can wear masks for so long only to take them off in the most precarious situations. Always keep your guard. Always have a support system. Always have a way out. Edit to add: age of consent and age of marriage can be different depending on the state and country. For example, in Virginia, the age of consent is 18, but you can get married at 16 with the approval of a legal guardian, typically a parent. It's not at all common for people to get married that young here anymore, but it does still happen occasionally.
2:09:28 Okay, sorry. In a way, there needs to be clarification on that story.Whether or not the step, kids actually have another family. If not why weren't they ever fully adopted? If they have another family , then that's the reason why they don't get Inheritance from the part of the family that they're not biologically related to because they do have a whole ass Other family that seems to be able to willingly push all The cost of raising and financing a child's education and And life onto the rich step parent.
Tge first OP is so bad ass... I'm so happy she is divorcing the husband, it just sucks that, because of the kids, he will keep terrorizing her as much as he can... But at least she got out
Haha Riley you got that sweetheart accent and it absolutely mates me melt! Or course so games from you Sam those deep yes just send shivers down my spoons! Chili 😱 love yall
About getting the kids a house. Nobody has mentioned that these kids have a living mother that they can inherit from. Is her daughter going to inherit equally from step dad and/or his family?
It's tacky to pee in the garden or backyard. Use a toilet whenever one is available within a half a mile. If anyone did that in my yard they would not be welcome back because it's a dirty, tacky habit.
It's just stupid to go to a toilet if you can pee in nature without disturbing anybody. It's actually good for the soil. I certainly won't run for the bathroom if I'm standing close to our compost ... 🤦♂️
RE: House for stepkids I vote to confidentially explain the situation and that while she loves them she feels her hands are tied to preserve the biological daughters relationship with the family. Alternatively, the money she would have been put into a house per tradition she will put in an interest bearing account that will be an additional wedding present. Given the cultural & familial ramifications I feel this is the best compromise with the least risk of getting called out.
No matter the size of the cut, glueing your wound is not a good idea. You could trap bacteria or dirt inside & then a infection could present. I’ve seen it sooooooooo many times. It’s much worse than what actual wound care would have done & takes much longer to heal. In some cases it can develop a staphylococcal infection. I’ve seen that many times too. Just a lil FYI in case anyone was deciding on if they should glue their cut instead of seeking care. The more ya know 🌈
2:06:00 sofia! The first car i had cost me 800 bucks. One of the blinkers didnt work and i had to put brake fluid in it everytime i drove it 😂😂😂😂 i 💯 agree. If it werent for WonWon [hp reference name] i wouldnt have gained a true undestanding of what it takes to own and care for a car lol
I believe Riley right away. Because back in seventh grade, I peed on the ceiling in the bathroom and my stepfather did the same thing I learned years later.
Peeing outside in your own backyard once in a while isnt a big deal imo. I do it too. I have a urinary drainage bag so its very easy for me. I have family who do it. Its always far away from everyone and in a hidden corner.

Even family members that are nurses use glue instead of going to the hospital (for themselves). Glue is $3. A hospital bill is $30k.
Superglue was invented for surgery.
Can confirm Sophia’s fanfic Rec joke was hilarious!
The epic fail prank call almost became funny because of just how terribly it went (but yeah, probably don’t do that one again 😂)
Thanks!
35:38 for anyone who wants to skip over the peeing outside commentary
My husband shot a nail through his hand with a nail gun and wanted me to pull it out!! I couldn’t so he clamped it to something and pulled it out himself. Of course, he didn’t go to the ER. And he peed in the backyard, but we live in the country so I guess that’s ok!!
She doesnt NEED to say anything to the wife but she NEEDS to speak to her boss and tell him that its not work related and making her uncomfortable
Not John, Sam and Riley only just learning child marriage is still legal in parts of the US 😭. Usually if theres parental consent, I believe. Its disgusting.
30:46 you guys are making it sound like Riley is outside dancing around with his man parts out! Haha
Let Riley pee outside.
@@southernladyish me too! I have found my people lol
Hope your girlfriend doesn’t mind Riley, but for me the peeing outside would be an absolute turn off. 😮
There are exceptions of course, but very few. Unless there is absolutely no way to use toilet nearby it’s a no-no.
Some of it would be jealousy in my case. I can't just piss if I need to. Unfair. /Lh
i’m not even sure if the husband loves the wife with literature major, it’s like he married her so she could throw away her life and be caged at home taking care of stuff for him and that she’s not worth having anything since it would inconvenience him (by requiring to help with dishes from time to time or smh lol).. it’s toxic, i’m so sorry she has spent such a long time with him and i really jope she’ll run and she’ll run fast
As someone with bladder issues, its not healthy to hold it in.
Riley is a farm guy. It’s nothing to them to pee outside. 😂😂 23:23
I'm just out here imagining Riley as a free range puppy peeing everywhere now 😂
She's not Batman, she's overloaded
My friend got married in Alabama at 14 in the 90's. Her mom got it annulled when she found out. Her dad had signed for it. Mom was custodial guardian she was visiting her dad for the summer.
Love your show. This story breaks my heart
Never pee in the woods, it pisses big foot off terribly.
I have neuromyelitis Optica and my family/girlfriend is constantly saying they regret not paying attention to my symptoms and not realizing it was so bad until I couldn’t walk at all and passing out while trying to walk. I had symptoms that gradually got worse over a year
Ok. In the south. We do use super glue for first aid often.
45:16 I'm betting the wife already had an inkling, hut finding out about the child probably broke whatever hope she had left of fixing things.
If you go listen to the podcast "some place underneath" they did an awesome multiple part series on child marriage in the US (I haven't researched for Canada). Sadly the majority of states allow it, some states don't even hace a minimum. It is often used to avoid statutory rape charges. I have nothing else to add, it's tragic :(
Good on that classmate for not ignoring what that daughter said regarding her mother.
I had to laugh a little bit when you said "16, that can't be in the USA" 😅 some states don't even have a minimum age to marry there🙈
Peeing in your garden is good for the plants and keeps feral cats and dogs away.
Plants die when they are being peed on. It only good for them if you dilute pee with water and use it only like once a year
Sophias fanfic joke was indeed very good 😂😂😂
Is releasing your liquid in a yard a Kentucky thing?? When buying a house my man said being able to pee in the back yard not seen is a requirement 😂🤣
Definitely chopped the tip of my finger off at work and didn't want to go the hospital for "being stupid" so I went home and cauterized it myself. My ex husband nearly passed out lol
In the south. We teach our kids to go outside. Especially the ones of us on farms.
I also tried to walk off a broken leg. Not my finest moment. I ended up hopping to the car, changing out of my fav jeans, and went to the hospital.
I personally know a woman married at 15. US States allow marriages between older people and basically children. Now, if they just have sex the elder can go to jail at the same age. But get married, sure.
No thanks on the prank calls
I think John's woooosh made the projection joke, better.
Also Riley, you cannot duct tape the internal injuries.
I swear in Australia you cannot sleep with someone below 18 if you are 18 yourself
I've cut my hand open once and i used super glue.
It’s Monday!!! Where’s the new announcement??! 😍😄😄
The wittle worms😍😍🪱🪱
There's nothing wrong with peeing outside Riley 🤷♀️😂
Always love your videos 😊
Tge first OP is so bad ass... I'm so happy she is divorcing the husband, it just sucks that, because of the kids, he will keep terrorizing her as much as he can... But at least she got out
Reilly has farmer genes. Farmers don't go to ER unless they're dying and the wife forces them
wtf is wrong with Sam screaming while the prank call? Never felt that second hand embarassed 😵💫😵💫
I hated that 😂… I was like “Sam dude you’re giving me anxiety for John!”
I almost cut the top of my ear off and asked to boss to just super glue it bc I had work to do. They wouldn't and ended up with 21 stitches.
marriage underage is allowed with parental consent
Glue, like tampons was originally made for dealing with wounds in the war
Haha Riley you got that sweetheart accent and it absolutely mates me melt! Or course so games from you Sam those deep yes just send shivers down my spoons! Chili 😱 love yall
Love when I read a Reddit thread then come hear it on OKOP
RIP OKOP ALWAYS REMEMBER NEVER FORGOTTEN
About getting the kids a house. Nobody has mentioned that these kids have a living mother that they can inherit from. Is her daughter going to inherit equally from step dad and/or his family?
Sophia is on FIRE today 🎉
It's tacky to pee in the garden or backyard. Use a toilet whenever one is available within a half a mile. If anyone did that in my yard they would not be welcome back because it's a dirty, tacky habit.
It's just stupid to go to a toilet if you can pee in nature without disturbing anybody. It's actually good for the soil. I certainly won't run for the bathroom if I'm standing close to our compost ... 🤦♂️
2:21:13 the step children should not expect inheritance from op parent's company. But she could leave them something in her own will.
My husband has trouble peeing with people around. Idk how he does it in public bathrooms lol
RE: House for stepkids
I vote to confidentially explain the situation and that while she loves them she feels her hands are tied to preserve the biological daughters relationship with the family.
Also my grandma used super glue for small wounds on her and her dogs.
My wife pees standing up 🎉
