Also there is literally a trailer where person who somewhat resembles Jackie dies in a Delamain car after the Heist . And it released one year prior Keanu reveal and it's the first trailer in years. So at maximum they changed the model for Johnny and not like rewrite the whole story from the scratch thing...
It cracks me up because after Pepe told me his wife problems, my immediate thought was, “This sounds like something out of a pulp noire novel.” Then Johnny said exactly that, and I knew I was starting to genuinely like the man.

The lore past that is that is Johnny alters V's appearance to look like himself or if its Valerie he changes her into a guy.
The ending where he doesn’t fight for the body is so sad. The male VA of V carried it, the shaking of his voice when he asked Johnny to fight back was amazing
It's hilarious how these two are the closest to a realistic friendship. V and Johnny don't always get along, don't always agree, repeatedly tease/mock/troll each other.... But when it's needed they put their heads together and get shit done.
It's not that they're not done well. It's that you don't get enough time with them to really care for some of them. For example, Jackie. You know him for an entirety of 30-40mins in the game. That's way too little time to connect with a character. It's supposed to be a role playing game. But, V already knows so many people and characters from even before the story starts that it feels like you're just peeking into the life of someone else. At least that's how I feel. You might feel different and others might have a completely different take.
Game has bugs and runs like shit on old consoles so they Just complain about everything, even if they didnt play it like i saw people complain about graphics lmao this is like the Best looking game ever made, and its a huge open world not small maps like battlefield 5 or tlou 2

I’ve seen people be extremely critical of Keanu’s role as Johnny; While this game does have many faults, the banter between Johnny and V will always be my favorite thing out of this game, how could you not like the witty remarks and comedic timing of Johnny Silverhand?
To this day I’m still impressed how much work keanu an idris done for their roles, unlike a lot of a “big actor” roles in games where they really only have about 5 minutes worth

One of the core reasons I can never hate or get bored of this game is V and Johnny's comradery
They really went the extra fuckin mile with Johnny's dialogue. If you talk to Karim too early in the game about Samurai's bootlegs and early gigs and ask Johnny what happened he'll tell you "ask him about this 'I ain't your fuckin sidekick V'!" And in here he freely tells you what happened cause you're bros by then
Johnny: tell him it was your guardian angel

You could tell Keanu had a lot of fun with this role
I wanna point out that I think Cherami Leigh did a really good job at playing V :)

She did a fantastic job! Her lines were delivered so naturally I almost forgot V was a fictional character. Believable as a tough as nails merc without sounding too tryhard.
I really did like doing the roller coaster thing in the game because it really does feel like a good bonding moment with Johnny.
I get a kick out of Johnny narrating the "Raymond Chandler Evening" Job. The guy cracks me up.
