Young Concert Band - Grade 3
Film composer Michael Giacchino again shows us his stylistic range with the powerful soundtrack to this 2021 box office blockbuster. Along with the dynamic main theme, this medley also features the darker and sinister themes as well as emotional lyric melodies that add so much depth to the story.

This arrangement sits in a nice middle ground between capturing the intensity of the original while being accessible for community bands.
This is incredible. I'm getting this for my band right away!
I can listen to that trombone 1 solo for hours
I'm playing this for my 8th grade band it sounds so good!
Can you post a Lord of the Rings concert band arrangment?
Bro I get to play this year , yes Tyson I’m commenting 🕷️

THIS IS FIIIRRREEE 🔥
Baritone solo is kinda hip
Could you do argentum from Randall Strandridge please?
Why you not on spotify?
It would be great if they added a piece of the spider Reimi, as it was in the film when Tobey Maguaer appeared
You still listen to luna?
Why no alto clarinet?
Because 3 people in the world play that in total
@@clarkfitzgerald8814 Yes, but also not really the musicians fault. The alto clarinet has an unfortuante negative feedback loop going on. Most instruments are in a state of disrepair (or given to a bad musician) and thus sound bad, therefore band directors don't use them, and because no one is using them, composers don't write for them, and since no one is writing for them, they fall into disrepair where the cycle starts all over again. When the instrument is played well, and a good model of instrument is used, they are an excellent voice in the ensemble. I REALLY encourage people to listen to the United States Marine Band's video on the low-clarinets. Staff Sargent Shannon Kiewitt does a brilliant job showcasing the alto clarinet (and bass, and greatbass/contrabass clarinets).
Here's a link to the video if you're interested :)

@@Ginger5010 ok Mr history
This again shows, that modern Hollywood scores don’t translate well to concert bands. If a concert band want‘s to play film music, that is exciting for audiences to listen to in live concerts, it better sticks with 80s and 90s scores by John Williams, Jerry Goldsmith, Michael Kamen, Danny Elfman, James Horner and others.
i feel like its cause its made to be played by students. The arrangers have to sacrifice the way it sounds in order for it to be easily played by younger students
I think you're crazy
as someone who's playing this in 10th grade school band (tuba), this is a super fun score to play!! my band plays all kinds of music, including things from the 1800's to the late 2010's. i personally think that music from films are really fun, especially when it is a film that the audience loves/is familiar with. if we were to play really anything else that not everyone knows, we would have less people coming to the concerts/performances
