    Here's the list of charges:
    -Attempted murder towards Lestat
    -The actual murder of Antoinette
    -The making of Claudia ( a teenager kid)
    -The making of Madeleine and revealing to her that vampire exist ( only Armand is allowed to make other vamp as coven master and )
    -Claudia's diaries ( telling the story of vamps)

      Yea but Lestat has agency, especially as someone older and who was Louis maker. He was not and could not be forced to do it by Louis. Lestat chose. Does the working of the dark trick have to be done by Armand? Because technically they had his permission to change Madeline…. Permission is a bit of a stretch… but he could say it was so and no one would be the wiser. So in actuality, the only person that broke laws is Claudia. And technically she really only broke one, keeping all those journals. (the killing in front of the human Madeline should have become null and void once she then turned into a vampire herself)

    It struck me about Louis being jealous of Claudia and Madeline's relationship. That the start of their vampire relationship is the ideal version of Loustat. Claudia and Madeline got to know each other as human and vampire. And Claudia explained not only her past but what being a vampire would be like. And allowed Madeline the time she needed to choose to become a vampire.
    There is also an interesting thing about Madeline's past. Madeline has a mentally ill sibling that died early, and she has survived the death of the rest of her family. It 's a similar background to Louis, but it happened before the influence of a vampire.
    Anyways, I love you reactions.

    • @001dipstick
      @001dipstick 3 місяці тому +13

      Wow I love the connection between Madeline’s past and Louis’.
      I agree, Claudeline shows us the difference between being loved and being loved *right.* Whether or not certain characters love each other is secondary to me, because we see clearly that love isn’t enough. Louis and Lestat are in lifelong, deep love, but they never loved each other *right.* Never equal. Never healthy. In many ways, Louis loves Claudia more than anyone else, but he can never quite figure out how to love her in the right way. And Madeline does. I think Louis is jealous of/hurt by that too

    • @cyanrose499
      @cyanrose499 2 місяці тому +3

      @@001dipstickcouldn't have said it better!
      What has to hurt Louis more is how consensual the turning of Madeline was compared to when he was turned by Lestat.
      Louis was terrified in that church and Lestat started off by basically threatening him to choose actual death or the Dark Gift before switching tactics to expose his vulnerabilities and tell him how deeply he loves him.
      Didn't even give him aftercare or reassurances like Claudia was doing to Madeline throughout! Lestat was just blasé about the whole thing and could barely take the time to gently coax Louis through his transition.
      Although granted, he didn't get any coaching either. But he could have shown the same level of empathy that Claudia showed Madeline.
      And if I can go a little deeper, this is probably linked to why fledglings tend to hate their makers too. The circumstances around the ritual for making a vampire could have an impact on the on-going see-saw between love and hate that they end up having

  • @yourvalentine3726
    @yourvalentine3726 3 місяці тому +8

    Damn, I guess I'm gonna be the Armand enjoyer but the interpretation is that I do feel like Armand would go in there with an open mind to do it for Louis that's why he grilled Madeline so much because he was trying to find a reason a turning point like in the sewers his turning point was Louis bring up Claudia and saying to protect her even with his demise behind him. The same as when he called Lestat in the episode previously reciting what Lestst was saying until the I love you and he goes "uh" starting but ultimately cutting off the line. The 'fledgling will hate you over time' part of Armand not wanting to turn someone is from his maker it has been pounded and reinforced in him that he does manifest a mindnumbing repulsion to it.
    I do also beleive that both Louis and Armand do not understand Dom/sub relantionships they are Louis is doing it like highschooler who sees it from the outside "(like 50 shades of grey) and Armand goes about is as a child who was groomed into that kind of power dynamic by a fake 'daddy dom' on kik that makes them believe that taking abuse with not question is the role of a sub.

    • @artistpen5996
      @artistpen5996 2 місяці тому +2

      I agree.
      I don't think those two had a single conversation about expectations, consent, and boundaries when they jumped into this dynamic.
      Where exactly does Louis think Armand's boundaries are meant to lie?
      And Daniel in the present isn't helping. He reinforces the idea that Armand being the sub means he cannot say no to anything without betraying their dynamic.
      Looking back at Episode 5, I kind of think Armand asking Louis if he is asking him to do something as a partner or telling him as his dom is Armand's attempt to cleanly separate those dynamics for himself when he needs to.
      He has voiced his concerns and does not want to do something. He gives Louis the option to overwrite his decision as part of their dynamic, but he makes it very clear to both of them that he would do this for him in his role as Louise sub and not as his partner.
      Maybe he also wants to give up responsibility for the decision to Louis.

      @@culturekitsch Yeah... The show fleshes out the context a little, but maybe not as well as they should have. The first time Madeline talked about sleeping with the soldier for food and company, I thought her loneliness and sympathy for the young man made it make sense. Now that we have her story of the "chic" neighbor who starved to death, I remembered the life-or-death scenario she was in.
      That said, the optics are... unfortunate, to say the least! There ARE other "weird whyte ladies" in the sea, lol. The actors help make it okay for me. I still want them to beat the charges and run away together, somehow 🙏🏽😭At least give them a few decades of happiness, come on!!

      @@Setsunako6587can you blame the people of Paris for hating her though? She (and women like her) were having sex with the same soldiers who were killing and starving her neighbors, while she received food and extra favors. That's why she brought it up as a way to show Armand that she already has shown a willingness to compromise her morals to survive. While her neighbors are being executed by the gestapo and literally starving to death, she's sleeping with the same people responsible for it. The mob assaulting her and shaving her hair was wrong, but painting a swastika on her window was probably appropriate.
