I did not know that was possible
The top of the print gets darker than the bottom due to the fact that is exposed more time to the heat of the nozzle. So, in theory, if you were to slow down your print speed you could possibly get darker prints with lower temps (I haven't tested it yet by myself)
i'll make sure to try that!
Я так рад, что ты продолжаешь воплощать эту идею в реальность!
(Translation: I am so happy that you are continuing to turn this idea into reality!)
looks like color change depends not only on temperature but also on heat duration. Bottom layers of triangle have larger area and cool down faster, so plastic doesn't change it's color too much. While top layers are still hot when a new one being printed on top of them, so they stay hot a bit longer and do change color distinctly.
Wood torching or baking models in oven probably won't work, but would be fun to try 👀
I mean, if you want the brunt wood colour, why not just lightly burn the default temp print with a lighter, gas stove or other hot surface?
Causing a house fire is not the only risk from exceeding material temps. Depending on the plastic and how hot you go the material can emit toxic fumes or break down and aerosolize. It could cause severe allergic reactions similar to running a resin printer without proper fume prevention.
These are worst case, but you should always research and know exactly how the material will likely behave under extreme temps before running it.
I find these videos interesting and calming. Looking forward to the next one
