Travel Vlog #57
In this video I'm going to take you on a tour of The High Line in New York City and show you some interesting history of how it came to be! For nature lovers visiting New York City, I recommend taking a walk on The High Line!
The High Line currently requires timed entry in which you login to a downloaded app. You will be allowed to enter at your designated time. We did not plan ahead and we had to wait about 20 minutes. After walking the high line from South to North, the walk ended in the Hudson Yards right at the Vessel which is the coolest building for the perfect photo opportunity!!!
We visited the High Line after lunch on Day 2 of the NYC Vlog (full playlist here: • New York City Vlog

The High Line looks like a very good re-use of the space to make a natural oasis in the middle of the city. I love that there is a place to walk up above the busy-ness of the city. The Vessel seems like a cool landmark as well. Thanks for taking us along. We are enjoying your NYC series!
Oh good! Im so glad you are enjoying it! I wanted to visit the high line after reading it was one of the top things to do but I didn’t really understand what it was before I went. I really enjoyed it!!

You really do have a strange knack for coming across proposals! I can't say I've ever seen a single one! Hahah! New York seems like such an interestinginterweaving of buildings and structures. So unique.
I couldn't believe it!! :-) Another one!! Thanks for watching, I really enjoyed this area!
Really really nice video with interesting history thank you
Thanks so much for watching!!
I appreciate your video as I was trying to learn about it and so many of the videos were simply someone walking for what seems like hours on end, with no commentary.
Good! 👍😀 I try to provide useful information. Thanks for your comment!
I love this place!! The city has so many things to do. You can spend days sightseeing and doing things.
There are so many things we DIDNT DO!!! Next time!👍 thx for watching!

Good video.thank you.
Thank you! 😀
In Chicago, we have something similar called the 606 and also love how it connects different neighborhoods. Glad this place was rezoned to make something so special.
I've never been to Chicago- but when I go, I'll have to check that out! I really enjoyed this walk. Did you guys walk the high line when you were out there?
Thanks for sharing the history behind the high line. That is pretty interesting to learn about the railway that once passed through there. That is such an interesting car garage. I would be so fascinated to see how it operates haha. Wow, this is your second marriage proposal encounter while in New York. You have a lucky charm when it comes to that. Take care and safe travels.
I really love seeing the old historical photos of the same area, SO DIFFERENT!! and I couldn't believe another proposal! Crazy!
Very informative video! Really enjoyed all the facts you shared, so interesting! Too bad the timing didn’t work out to see the proposal 😂
Thanks so much for watching!! We would’ve stayed to watch the proposal… but NYC- so much to do! So little time!😂😂
I want to go and visit New York sometime, I am a fan of railway heritage also so this looks like a cool place to visit!
New York was a big dream for us as well!! The high line is such a lovely walk! Thanks for watching!
I think it's brilliant to use an old disused railway line in this way.
I agree!!!
So cool! The railway passed through there at some point? If I remember correctly you had another video in NYC with another marriage proposal haha it's amazing you're catching it! Honestly after seeing all your videos, NYC is now on my to-do for Jan/Feb next year!
Yes! 2 proposals!! That is awesome! Just expect very cold weather that time of the year!
Thx for sharing.
You are welcome !
How did you find so many beautiful green spaces loved it
There were so many green spaces!!
Miss NYC 😢
Its such an amazing city!!!
Nice tour
Thanks for watching!! This was a really neat area to walk
Very nice
Thank you!
Never knew this place existed!
I found it when looking up things to do in the city- I hadn't heard of it either! It was really cool!!
2:37 You ask "Does anyone know what instrument that is?" That instrument is a Chinese erhu, a two stringed bowed instrument with a skin as its sounding surface, comparable to how a banjo uses a tight skin as its sounding surface. The horse hair of the bow passes between the two strings such that the bow cannot be separated from the instrument.
Thank you! So interesting!!
A very stentorian instrument whatever it was! They do urban astronomy on the High Line every Tuesday April until October from night fall although thinking about it night fall is going to be pretty late in June!
What a great idea- urban astronomy!!!
I love New Yok, it is a fascinating city, thanks for this wonderful tour my friend 👍
Thanks so much! I really enjoyed our trip here!!
Not only is it a public park but it is funded privately. True but while there are plenty of stairwells there are elevators at 14th 17th 23rd and 30th. It hasn't needed a QR code and a reservation time for a while.
Thanks for the info!!!
My favoury City in all thevworld
It’s an amazing city!!
6:50 cool guy
😂😂
While others went on a vacation
We brought the people
The Roseville Firehouse
Is now functional
the instrument is erhu
Thank you!!
2:35 - That is an erhu. Chinese.
Thank you!!!! I didn’t know?!?😀😀👍
I don't know the instrument
Question asked. Question answered. Love the art there. You are the angel of love! Is that vessel the one they call the beehive?
