Countries aren't really like "brands". A product that you buy you can throw away if you don't like it, but if you move to a country with a bad brand, you take risk of safety, infastructure, etc....things that affect your life in a big way. It is really important to pay attention to the history of the country because most countries don't change in big ways over the decades and centuries from what they were before.
@@schoolofgrowthhacking I don't agree, I have heard people from Germany talk about how if things go really bad economically there again, the people will vote in another Hitler. What is "Turkiye"? Never heard of that.
It really doesn't matter. Some people buy these resident permits just for keeping or hiding dual citizenship status. They don't really live in these places.
For those who have more modest means, these programs won't really be helpful. That said, if one has a skilled and in-demand labour profile (i.e. IT or something), they could stand a good chance in getting a job in a place like Belgium or France. Both may be high tax countries, but employers can generally sponsor non-EU nationals for work/residence permits, with some degree of ease. Both countries offer easier paths to naturalisation, compared with other EU member states (some language skills are needed, but otherwise you can apply with only 5 years of residence under a valid permit). Once you have either one of these desirable passports, you can think about going elsewhere, if you wish. This is how I got my EU passport.
@Pat Risberg Depends on what you want/need. Germany requires something like 8 years of residence before you can apply for nationality. As far as I recall, Germany does not recognize dual nationality. Switzerland is much more complicated to get residency, let alone nationality. The Nordics just like France have language requirements in order to get nationality and their languages are not as internationally widely spoken as French. So it is less easy to learn those languages. France/Belgium offer a more accessible route to EU nationality for qualified persons who would otherwise be unable to fork out 500K for a golden visa.

I wonder if these funds are very risky or not. at the end, I think we must loose money somehow, at least 200.000 euros as tax or as funds losing value. am I wrong? I think things are working like that.
Yes, if it is for charter. Then you set up a company, and you have to charter it for 105 days in total, during any 3 year period, as a bareboat charter, or 75 days during any 3 year period, if the yacht is run by paid crew. The profit of the company is taxed at 0%! There is an almost negligible fee for keeping the yacht in Greek territorial waters. But you don’t want your worldwide income to be taxed in Greece… But if you have a yacht, why do that? You go to Monaco, get a long term contract for a berth in Port Hercule (at about a 70% premium versus where you keep it today), put a million in a local bank, get a POBox, and live on the yacht for six months a year. This will bring your worldwide income tax down to 0%… And the premium you will pay for the berth will be way lower than the money you will have to spend annually in order to rent a 40 s.m. studio over there. A 20-24 m yacht is way more comfortable than any studio…
