This was an amazing job by the writers. They turned Dan from a not-so-pleasant person in season 1 to someone we mourn in 5x15 . . .
THE BEST EPISODE OF LUCIFER - can't even begin to explain how much I respect the actor of Dan requesting an on-screen death for the "last season". Couldnt stand the character at the beginning of the series, and now I cant watch this episode without damn onions being cut in the same room lmao
Those onion ninjas can be sneaky! 🥷🧅
Mother forking onions 🧅 👿
Also, no one ever includes the bit with Lucifer and Ella singing, but it is hands down my favorite number they ever did on the show
This episode really amazed me. We all know how Dan was in season 1 and he was not a popular character but the writers found a way to make us all cry by season 5 😭
Also, FYI…this scene was written before Netflix asked the show runners to do another season. Dan’s actor asked to go out in this way when they thought season 5 was going to be the last 🥲 Now…Dan is not in heaven??? Hmmm 🤔 Now what???😅
This was without a doubt the hardest episode to watch. The hospital scene made me cry my eyes out, then Trixie says, "Where's my dad?" More tears. This one scene had some of the best acting in the series. The look on Chloe's face when she hears Trixie killed me . . .
I hope you move Lucifer 5x16 up your watch list to "next" . . .
What a roller coaster of emotions. You think Dan is done for when the guy pulls the gun on him, but then he gets out of it and you think he's safe. Then he gets shot three times and you think he's done for again, but then Chloe and the EMT's get there and you think there's a chance that they can save him. Then the hospital scene hits, and you get your heart ripped out when the doctor tells them, only to have it happen all over again when Trixie enters the room. Watching Chloe in the background when Trixie asks Lucifer to tell her the truth is so hard because you know that it's going to hit Trixie for real.
This episode is so good, but so hard to watch. Amazing how we all started out hating Dan in the first season, and by season 5 his death hits so hard.
Sorry:(. I lost my dad a few months before this ep aired. Every time Trixie enters the hospital my tears start pouring
2:58 Lucifer: "So you're saying he was water-Bordeauxed?"
Ella: "Nice"
Dan: "That was pretty good!"
Chloe:
I have yet to see one reaction video where no one sheds a tear to this episode.
Just about everyone loses it when Trixie enters the room.... 😭
Anyway are you ready for the next episode!?!?
During rgw funeral scene the girl sitting behind Lucifer is actually Tom Ellis real life daughter.
Diana's death was a huge thing and I can't believe it Even though all these years have passed I still shed tears over him I can't believe i was hated Dan so much in the first season and now he become something else.
It's crazy how 99% of us were so irritated with Dan at the beginning of the series and now... 😭
not entirely sure anymore but I believe but that the idea of killing dan came from the actor himself and the people in charge liked it
It was because they didn't know there was going to be a sixth season. Kevin thought a big death scene would be cool.
Actually I thought when he advanced the idea the writers were already thinking about it. Like they were on the same wavelength or something.
One of the best and WORST episodes to watch. A great foreshadow by not having the Lucifer theme in the episode to make us feel uneasy from the start. That song at the end was sad and beautiful…
There were plenty of telling things that this would be it for him-- Dan’s solo episode earlier in the season and also many more Dan scenes in this particular episode.
I can never watch this episode without shedding tears. Trixie losing her father is probably the worst, but Dan also telling Chloe “tell trixie I love her” gets me as well. FYI - the next episode was really the start of noticeable COVID issues, and I’ll mention it more next time.
Good way to put it - one of the best AND worst episodes . . .
Funny that it was Kev (Actor playing Dan)s own suggestion to kill off his character because season 5 was supposed to be the end so go out with a bang right
There's something about seeing Mazikeen cry that really hits me in the gut . . .
Being raised in Mexico, Ellas "pinche pendejo cabrón" felt so right! 😅
I never warmed up to Dan, starting as a dirty cop who left Chloe being bullied, gaslighted her, etc., I was not surprised he didn't go to heaven, but what broke me on this episode was listening Trixie's voice.
Lucifer on the other hand, clearly warmed up to Dan. He is not only sad about it, he is willing to go to war to rescue Dan from hell.
gaslighting is a weak person's term
Did you notice the Lucifer theme song was different? It was foreboding to tell us something bad was going to happen.
I did not notice no, but I think it's genius!!
Hard one this. Dan's death scene is sad enough but anyone not crying at that usually goes when Trixie arrives at the hospital.
And now the Devil himself is on the warpath. Presumably there'll be Hell to pay :).
the system is broken, someone should fix it....
Maze and Eve perfect 3some
Dan😢😢😢😢😢😢
28:39 "...and I hope you...maybe cried with me." Don't ever feel alone, Evie; I'll always cry with you. 🥲
I appreciate it🥲
