I remember when I started season 1 that I thought he was just going to be the jerk ex. But then he told Chloe about his crimes and also turned himself in m for stealing evidence. After that, Dan wasn’t perfect, but he was a decent guy. He made rash, dumb mistakes here and there, but wanted to be better. So many people decide that there is nothing they need to change. “I am who I am.” But Dan really grew on me. He was willing to admit his mistakes. He was willing to be humble. He was willing to grow from his mistakes and be better. In the end, he was was a genuinely good guy who you’d be happy to call your friend. I cried a lot when he died.
The thing that really stands out to me in this episode is Maze when she is killing this mercenaries. There is nothing flashy or fancy, no style, no moves perfected in hell. She went in there and slaughtered each and every one of them as quickly and efficiently as possible. This wasn't about showing off or being a badass like she usually is. This was entirely personal for her. The goal for her was vengeance.
exactly!!!! It may not be related at all but when she said to dan that she would not take a bullet for him and not in the chest anyway and then the last mercenary she killed was her literally ripping his chest!! just thought that was cool!
Personally, I'd like to know what Lucifer whispered to Dan's killer. Whatever it was, it clearly was worse than being sliced up by Mazikeen's Hell-Blades.

I was in complete denial when it happened. I thought "c'mon, they're not killing him." When the hospital scene happened with Trixie and everyone else, I was holding my tears cause I still thought "They said he was 'gone', they didn't say he was 'dead'. He's got to be in a coma." When the funeral scene came along with the song and the Lucifer and Maze tag-team, it caught up to me. Dan's dead. He's *_really_* dead. I couldn't hold it in no more and I let it all out.
Imagine filming this episode... How hard it was for the all of actors... Especially Scarlett, who probably never had such a dramatic experience... But this girl get a pretty great dramatic talent...

Trixi is also the only one who knew from the beginning that lucifer was the devil. It was never said, but in the musical episode her painted picture of Lucifer was the final proof for me. In addition, there is the fact that she was not scared of maze when she once showed her her demon face on halloween.

I cried as much as you and that shows how much of a good actors they are and we are so attached to these characters that it affects us like it was happening in real life... that was the saddest episode
The episode didn't really shock me. I've had this feeling since Dan's solo episode that he wouldn't survive the season. Kevin Alejandro that plays Dan actually said that as it was the last season (at that time) could he be killed off as he wanted to do a death scene, then just after they filmed it they got told they had a sixth season so he thought he wouldn't be in S6, but they have a storyline for him and Dan will be seen in S6.
I think that is why they introduced the whole “dan is in hell due to his guilt” situation that can be wrapped up in next season ..that pretty good thinking on their part.. it flows well with the story since dan always worried about ending up in hell

Oh girl...I was screaming when they shot him. I had to pause SO MANY TIMES cause it hurt to see if he was actually dead. The hospital scene SHATTERED my soul. I'll admit, while I was shocked when Dan died, I didn't cry. But as soon as Trixie showed up... just hearing her say, off-screen, "Where's my dad?"... I started to break down. And the whole hospital scene just destroyed me. I cried at least 4 times from that point on to the end of the episode. If anyone deserves strong language, it's Michael: FUCK. MICHAEL. Dan didn't deserve that, and even more so, Trixie doesn't deserve this kind of pain 😭
I was pissed, because this episode was ruined for me by a video UA-cam recommended to me from Entertainment Tonight - which I'm not subscribed to - which spoiled the outcome. They posted it a day after 5b was released, so of course I hadn't gotten to the second to last episode yet. Some people might have, but come on. They posted a video that said something along the lines of (Spoiler) talks about their *death*; and then used a thumbnail of Dan dying in Chloe's arms! Like, are you kidding me?? Do they not know how spoiler warnings work?
This was cruel the whole season they were hinting at it. And messing with Dan and saved Eve. So when they got to this it was unbelievable! I am still waiting for them to go get him.
I usually never cry for an tv show. However emotional it may get I usually never shed a tear. That said I must admit that cried for this. Man this just got me so off guard.

Unfortunately I had been spoiled about Dan’s death - ironically I saw that spoiler just before watching the “... Naked and Afraid” episode so I was expecting him to die in that episode.
I was crying the entire episode. I seriously didn't see it coming. All the signs were there, but I honestly didn't see it. But as much as I hated it, I loved how it motivated them all to fight. Lucifer was so hell-bent on making it a fair vote and convincing people the right way, but after Michael had Dan killed, he went to war with them. And Maze - omg Maze .. she really went all out for Dan, her loyalty is unmatched.

I thought Dan would be gone after Season 1, likely sentenced to prison. I couldn't have imagined actually feeling bad that he was dead! Obviously Chloe was hurt by Dan's death, and wasn't thinking logically. Lucifer not feeling worthy of Chloe's love wasn't *REALLY* why Dan died. That's as fallacious as Dan blaming Lucifer for Charlotte's death, supposedly over the identity of _"Sinnerman",_ when Cain mistakenly killed her trying to kill Amenadiel. It doesn't follow that Lucifer feeling worthy of Chloe's love would have convinced him to let Michael become God by default!

Don't worry, I was crying just as hard. I was 95% sure Dan was going to be the major character killed off so I was expecting it but I just wasn't expecting it to be so brutal. I think Lucifer is going to be taking it harder than a lot of other people, and poor Amenadiel; his last conversation with Dan was a fight, and he'll always have that memory in his mind of walking out with anger. Something he can't take back. To know that Dan put in Amenadiel's police department application after the fact had just about broken him. Having lost my own dad, I understand Trixie's pain, even though I was grown at the time. It doesn't make the hurt any less. Lucifer loves Chloe and Trixie and after this, I'm betting he's going to attempt at being a more paternal figure in her life.

There were so many hints in most of the new episodes that would lead up to this. Chloe's promise to Trixie that she & Dan would always be her parents. The fact that God DID explode Dan! In the musical episode Dan sings about going to Hell. Uh oh! And then there's the fact that we had such a heavy Dan focused episode that was completely nuts & he got into so much trouble but still always managed to push on. Not anymore.
In all honesty, I knew Dan was gonna die this season as soon as Michael tricked him into going back and seeing Lucifer's devil face. But it still got me a little teary-eyed! Especially when Trixie asked Lucifer to tell her it's not true!
I've watched the whole show twice and 5 full reactions to all episodes and still cry every time I see Dan die. Cried with you too. We can so identify with Dan, I know I do.
When 5B came out I had school so I was slowly working thru the eps during the school day. I wound up watching this one in my math class when we had a study hall. I was just sobbing as quietly as I could during everything so that was fun
There are interviews where the cast and writers talk about why Dan's story end this way, and its because so many people get pulled away when they are just now evolving and you just start to know them. Its the most emotional and realistic thing they could have done, and it hurts so much. Amenadiel joining the police is going to be emotional and show racial issues, the same reason they had Chloe quit and to move from being a cop centered show to more of the supernatural for the final season.
My mum and grandma and I all did a ugly cry the rest of the season and I'm still not over it I don't think I will ever be over it until they bring him back

They posted a video that said something along the lines of (Spoiler) talks about their *death*; and then used a thumbnail of Dan dying in Chloe's arms! Like, are you kidding me?? Do they not know how spoiler warnings work?
This was cruel the whole season they were hinting at it. And messing with Dan and saved Eve. So when they got to this it was unbelievable! I am still waiting for them to go get him.

I usually never cry for an tv show. However emotional it may get I usually never shed a tear. That said I must admit that cried for this. Man this just got me so off guard.

This episode was so so unexpected. A whole week later and every time I see it I still break down. That scene with Trixie pleading with Lucifer it just heart breaking.
In normal circumstances i don't care about spoilers but this time the whole impact of this event was ruined for me because one of the youtube channels put in the thumbnail Dan's face and title like 'Kevin Alejandro about his death on the show (...)... so i knew he would die 2-3 episodes before i could catch up with the show myself. Im not angry, but i somehow felt robbed.
Same here man that thumbnail ruined it for me too . I was able to avoid all spoilers except for this big one 🤦♀️
even though i had a feeling like dan was going to die this season since beginning of 5b so i wasn’t really surprised or angry by the spoiler but i feel like it would have been more impactful on me had i not seen that damn spoiler

Cried like a little b* After 5 seasons you get invested in the characters. And I was a Lucifan right after episode 1.
Unfortunately I had been spoiled about Dan’s death - ironically I saw that spoiler just before watching the “... Naked and Afraid” episode so I was expecting him to die in that episode.

I was crying the entire episode. I seriously didn't see it coming. All the signs were there, but I honestly didn't see it. But as much as I hated it, I loved how it motivated them all to fight. Lucifer was so hell-bent on making it a fair vote and convincing people the right way, but after Michael had Dan killed, he went to war with them. And Maze - omg Maze .. she really went all out for Dan, her loyalty is unmatched.

I thought Dan would be gone after Season 1, likely sentenced to prison. I couldn't have imagined actually feeling bad that he was dead!
Obviously Chloe was hurt by Dan's death, and wasn't thinking logically. Lucifer not feeling worthy of Chloe's love wasn't *REALLY* why Dan died. That's as fallacious as Dan blaming Lucifer for Charlotte's death, supposedly over the identity of _"Sinnerman",_ when Cain mistakenly killed her trying to kill Amenadiel.
It doesn't follow that Lucifer feeling worthy of Chloe's love would have convinced him to let Michael become God by default!
This Episode broke my heart 💔 your reaction was much like mine., I was literally sobbing 😭 I hated that happening to Dan, he’s as you say, such a wonderful & funny character...and will be sorely missed but hey, it’s Lucifer 😈 after all, where anything can happen....so fingers crossed 🤞🤞 maybe we’ll get to see him again, let’s hope so ❣️🥳

Don't worry, I was crying just as hard. I was 95% sure Dan was going to be the major character killed off so I was expecting it but I just wasn't expecting it to be so brutal. I think Lucifer is going to be taking it harder than a lot of other people, and poor Amenadiel; his last conversation with Dan was a fight, and he'll always have that memory in his mind of walking out with anger. Something he can't take back. To know that Dan put in Amenadiel's police department application after the fact had just about broken him. Having lost my own dad, I understand Trixie's pain, even though I was grown at the time. It doesn't make the hurt any less. Lucifer loves Chloe and Trixie and after this, I'm betting he's going to attempt at being a more paternal figure in her life.
Remember i asked you ask supernatural few episodes back, after god exploded dan and vring him back, the criminal who shot him is chuck(god) in supernatural
3:00 , Oh Yeah they roasted The Fox in this episode LMFAO But for Dan, Lucifer can't drag him out of Hell to go to Heaven apparently.
There were so many hints in most of the new episodes that would lead up to this. Chloe's promise to Trixie that she & Dan would always be her parents. The fact that God DID explode Dan! In the musical episode Dan sings about going to Hell. Uh oh! And then there's the fact that we had such a heavy Dan focused episode that was completely nuts & he got into so much trouble but still always managed to push on. Not anymore.
In all honesty, I knew Dan was gonna die this season as soon as Michael tricked him into going back and seeing Lucifer's devil face. But it still got me a little teary-eyed! Especially when Trixie asked Lucifer to tell her it's not true!
I've watched the whole show twice and 5 full reactions to all episodes and still cry every time I see Dan die. Cried with you too. We can so identify with Dan, I know I do.
When 5B came out I had school so I was slowly working thru the eps during the school day. I wound up watching this one in my math class when we had a study hall. I was just sobbing as quietly as I could during everything so that was fun
There are interviews where the cast and writers talk about why Dan's story end this way, and its because so many people get pulled away when they are just now evolving and you just start to know them. Its the most emotional and realistic thing they could have done, and it hurts so much.
Amenadiel joining the police is going to be emotional and show racial issues, the same reason they had Chloe quit and to move from being a cop centered show to more of the supernatural for the final season.
