I believe you can use texture maps as a base color with the Brushstroke Tools. Try this: Apply the texture map to your base mesh in the Shader Editor, and the brushstrokes should inherit the material properties.
hi thanks for the reply, maybe you can share your blender settigns, because you have smooth framerate on your viewport rendered view. or are you just on eevee render view? hehehe thanks again. I have m2 max pro 14-inch. even viewing the render view on the opening cube object on cycles , its quite lagging. although not when its on eevee
i also have a question noticed that the background also looks paintery look to it does it come with various styles too in the addon , second question can you animate those brushstrokes like add a noise effect animation on them ?
Question #1: The blend file came with the background painted like that. Question #2: I believe you can animate the brushstrokes. I just need to play around with it more.😅

I misspoke in the video. The Brushstrokes add-on is free, the Fishing Hut Blend file is available for Blender Studio subscribers. Sorry about that.
This video came in clutch, I had zero clue how to fix the material being the same on everything.
Awesome!
WHAT I had no idea about this extension :0 Great video, thanks!

Thank you so much!
Thanks for posting this, I'd not heard of this tool. A good demo of its basic capabilities. Nice music choice too!
Thank you so much!!
AAA THANKYOUU
Can you export the painted asset, with the stroke, to use in a software like unity?
Let us know how this compares to Gaku's Deep Paint. Thanks
Sure thing!
Instead of using single color with color variations, can we use texture map base color?

The demo files are not free
