2021: 8 Rounds of Chemotherapy (Carboplatin and Paclitaxel) with 30 concurrent radiation treatments to chest and lung
Failed Immunotherapy directly after Chemo and Radiation (Durvalumab, 1 round)
2022: Chemotherapy
10 rounds of Chemotherapy (Carboplatin, Alimta, and Avastin)
6 with Carboplatin, 4 without
Targeted Brain Radiation (Completed)
CURRENT TREATMENT:

Kyle, this is the first time I've commented on any of your videos (though I've been watching for awhile) and I have to say, although what Jenny is going through is terrible and heartbreaking, she is so fortunate to have someone by her side as strong and loving as you have been. You are an example of what a husband should be (and yes, Jenny is an example of what a wife and mother should be, in spite of her illness). I only wish everyone was so fortunate to have a partner like you two have in each other. You, Jenny and your family are always in my prayers. Oh, and I love your new haircut!

It is emotional and sad not to have Jenny do your hair anymore, but it is a good way of looking at it that it takes something off Jenny's plate by going to this new hairstylist. ( :

I just wanted to share this story with you from a friend I know from online.
I received so many texts, messages, ❤️ and 👍🏻 after my second and FINAL cancer remission announcement. It’s BEEN a journey. I was first diagnosed with Stage 4 Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma in 2010. The girls were 4 and 5. I was scared but I wanted to raise my babies with Shane (I was certain they would never experience the arts without me around!). Mid 2011 the cancer was in remission and I was starting to feel better when I got meningitis. 4 days in an isolation ward until we found out it was viral (the good kind). I came home. It was going fine right until the meningitis caused a seizure where I was blind for 12 hours. If you ask me about the worst day of my life it was when the police, fireman, and paramedics were bringing me out of the house on a stretcher as the school bus dropped off the girls. If you ask the girls about the worst part - mommy couldn’t drive for 6 months (the entire summer). But again, we MADE it.
For 5 years, we tested and the cancer didn’t return. The 5th year is the mark of freedom! Except in our case when in the 7th year, it came back with a vengeance - stage 4 plus (as I like to call it) - it was in my liver, spleen, lymph nodes and this time my bones. Every bone in my spine, pelvis, arms and legs lit up on that pet scan.
My only chance was a stem cell transplant at MD Anderson bc they weren’t performed locally in 2017. Four 4-day in patient chemos in hopes of clearing the cancer from my bones - and we succeeded! Then we started harvesting my stem cells. My mom put her life on hold and came to Houston with me for this part. Once the stem cells were harvested we entered the hospital. For how long? “As long as it takes” was the only answer. For me it was 9 days of horrific chemo, then a rest day or as I call it the “brink of death” day, then it’s your “birthday” when they start to reinsert the stem cells and bring you back to life. Thankfully my hospital stay was only 24 days. We anxiously waited everyday, watching for my White Blood Count to come up. On Day 24 we made it! There is very little I remember from those days, but twice Shane got the girls to school (7th and 9th grades) and drove to Houston to sit next to my bed for 2-3 hours and then drove back home for dinner with the girls. There is no way we would have made it without his strength and the help of family and so many amazing friends. Nanny Ashley must have made 100 orthodontist and doctors visits with my girls.
So here we are 5 years out from Cancer #2 and we are free! Dr. Nieto assured me that cancer isn’t coming back and I’m believing him! Cancer #2 left me a little battered with brittle bones and Rheumatoid Arthritis but we are learning to manage life on a slower pace.
There were many times that I didn’t think I would make it to this day. But we did it! Stubbornness, advances in medicine, prayers warriors and a village of help. WE DID IT!!!! 💛💛💛💛
I don’t know if you all have looked into, or believe in stem cell treatment, but it may be an option?

I don’t think I’ve ever seen Ellis as relaxed as he was at the beginning when it was just Kyle and Ellis and Winnie. That was lovely to see. He usually looks like he’s worrying. You know, sometimes I think that Kyle could die for Jenny and he still wouldn’t think it’s enough. God bless him, he’s a lovely person.

It's heartbreaking to watch. Who wouldn't feel helpless, especially wanting to be able to be the protector. Life is so cruel sometimes and to those who don't deserve it. ❤❤❤

Yes it was so nice to see Ellis having fun. What a sad burden he is carrying around along with a broken heart. That has to be a nightmare for a young child to know their mother is going to pass away. I kinda hope they stop mentioning that to them all the time. They are already broken. I hope they can just focus on school and kids stuff.
I can relate to Jenny with the haircuts. I did the kids for years. Started cutting my husband’s hair 11 years ago. Jenny, you and I have things in common. I wish I lived on the west coast, but, we are on the east coast. I get teary every time I hear about you being in pain, Jenny. It was moving to hear about your family praying for you. Prayer is so comforting. I hope you guys find a couch that helps you feel comfortable Jenny. Dear Heavenly Father, please give Jenny peace. Calm her through the panic attacks. They are so horrible. I know what they are like. And, it’s quite scary. Lord, hold this family close to Yourself. Provide their needs. Guide them in decisions and the doctors as well. Lord, give this family daily strength. Let them sense Your Presence and love. In Your Name, Jesus, Amen!

Youre both blessed to have eachother and i have been praying so hard for your family. Cancer sucks, it invades the best people. My MIL died back in 2021 from liver cancer and i can honestly say she is probably my hero. The strength and courage it takes to walk through that is incredible. It takes a special type of person to look cancer in the eye and say "im gonna fight, and im gonna win" . Jenny is also my hero. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

I really don't know if you guys read these but a couple things... 1) I honestly think your hair (long length) was still a good one on you. 2) It's smart to do some of these 1st while she's still here bc if need be, she's here to comfort & encourage you. Not that it puts more on her. It's like more ways to appreciate her while she's here to experience it with you. Hair looks good 😊👍
I like your hair longer too but if it is shorter it is easier to take care of for now. In general I like men’s hair longer and am definitely not into the whole bald thing. But, just remember…handsome is as handsome does no matter what and you and Ellis ARE handsome…I am sure Jenny would agree about her two sweet guys.
I’m a hair stylist and I also cut my husband’s hair and I will definitely not take for granted that I get to have that experience with him after watching this video. This video got me crying like a baby . I was very close friends with my massage therapist. After she passed away unexpectedly, I finally went in for a massage with someone new. I ended up bawling through the whole massage, it came out of nowhere. Everyone was very kind. It is amazing to me that you made it through your haircut without having a breakdown. I know it took a lot of strength! I'm so sorry for what you all are going through.

@myroselle6987 Oh, I know! I have copd and need to sleep a bit upright, so I stay on the couch. Only our couch hurts so much, and I sink INTO it!. I've begged for a new (even USED at Goodwill or thrift store), and it just goes in one ear out the other. I started crying when Kyle was talking about surprising Jenny with a couch! We really dont have the money for a couch (luxury), but a nice word about it would be wonderful! 31 years w/him, and I've never been loved as much as Jernny. Now that I have this disease and retired, I'm also raising my two grandkiddos as well, so a decent night's sleep would be heaven! Bless Jenny and her beautiful family!!

I get the haircut feels Kyle. My Mom would always pick out and purchase an Easter dress for my daughter every year. Didn't anticipate it, but ended up weeping in the store like a lunatic the first time I shopped for her Easter dress after my Mom's passing. It may not always be big things that trigger strong emotions when your loved one is ill or has passed. Kyle, it's not silly to find some joy for yourself in a haircut. You're so busy making everyone else happy. Don't forget about YOU. Don't feel badly about it. We all LOVE you, Jenny and the kids so very much and it hurts to see you feeling badly after something that brought you a little bit of joy for a second. It also saddens me that Jenny seems so compelled to spend her time editing her update videos. I wish she were spending this time with her family. I understand what she's trying to do...leaving a video diary for the kids to grow up on. I just wish she were filming and editing videos for the kids to watch for life's milestones, when they graduate, get a driver's license, first boyfriend or girlfriend, advice for a wedding day, on grandkids. She shouldn't feel it necessary to be spending so much time on us. I can't imagine anyone being upset if you guys only put up a "short" every few days or maybe one long video update per week. Jesus is God author and the finisher of our faith from a time where live to the time we die we have to repent believe the gospel to be saved he is God the Father God the son and God the Holy Spirit the Trinity is not mentioned in the word of God it is represented by the three persons of the trinity. Jesus the son intercedes to God the Father for us when we repent and become Believers and we don't need to pray to anybody but Jesus it's Jesus will be standing they're in heaven waiting for us who have accepted him repentance of our sins accepted him as Lord and believe the gospel message. Except ye be converted as a little child you will not see the kingdom of God. It's so simple Paul said in the book of Acts repent and believe the gospel that's it that's how you saved by Godly sorrow knowing Jesus died on the cross for you and me and whosoever will call upon his name he died on the cross for us so we didn't have to go to hell no one knows how long they're going to live make sure you know where you're going when you die. Eternity is a long time the living in heaven and also in Everlasting hell. Look at Hawaii been example you don't know how long you have you life is but a vapor we all don't have the guarantee of tomorrow.

That is the comment to which I was referring I didn’t mean to hurt your feelings, but that fundamentalist Christian belief, and I am a Christian, a Catholic, the first Christians, but that comment about not being allowed into heaven unless you’re Saved is very offensive to many, many people of all other religions. You two are truly the epitome of what a healthy, loving couple should be and I truly hope to find someone I can have this kind of beautiful, safe, supportive relationship with. I’m so happy that you both have each other. What Jenny is going though is absolutely terrible and she doesn’t deserve any of this. I pray for Jenny all the time, and beg the universe to find a way to cure her so she can live the long, healthy life she deserves to live, side by side with you and your beautiful kiddos. Jenny is such a warrior that I believe this is possible. Even if she lives a long life bc she is a cancer thriver, I think we’d all be so grateful. I really believe Jenny will live long past the “suggestion” the doctors gave bc they made that guess based on the facts in front of them in that moment and everything is ever changing and she also went thru the very heavy radiation which I believe helped and gave her many more years with her family. I was also going to say that even though what Jenny is going thru is awful and it’s something no one should ever have to experience , I don’t think there is a single person who would do a better job at being the best partner for her. You two are truly soul mates, and it breaks my heart for u both bc you deserve to grow old together, and I still believe that that is possible. Jenny looks good and is going strong and no matter what’s been thrown at her, she always comes back stronger, with a big smile and funny jokes to boot. She’s incredible, and such a wonderful role model to your kids, and even to her viewers like me. She’s taught me a lot about how to take things in stride and how to handle unexpected hard things, and the beautiful grace she carries herself with has inspired me so immensely to be more graceful in the face of adversity, and to remain grateful for all I do have to remain grounded and not get lost in sad what if thoughts. Y’all are doing great work with the videos you share, and I know you’ve helped me a lot just by sharing your journey and letting us get a glimpse into your lives.
