I love the idea that you don't have to stick to your New Year's resolutions. I was struggling with feeling like a failure at the end of January because I didn't come close to accomplishing any goal I set for the start of the year. At the beginning of February, I switched to "feel" goals for the month to give me permission to change or adjust if I don't feel like it's working and I feel so much better. Simplification and flexibility are now at the top of my priority list!
Have recently found your channel and love it! Such positive, feel good videos. I can totally relate to the change of mindset and how as you get older, you realise you are in control of your life and destiny ❤️
Hi Ellen! I have recently found your channel and I truly love it! As someone who works remotely, your insights have been incredibly valuable, and your calm and friendly approach feels like chatting with a friend. Your vlogs inspired me to start going to the office once a week, and it's made a positive impact on my routine. Thank you for sharing your experiences - keep up the fantastic work!♥
Love your videos! I had a long day today, and I had a cup of tea while watching your videos, and as always your videos made me feel better and inspired, thanks Ellen!
Thanks for sharing about goals. I reviewed Jan and realised I was being over excited about exercise (seeing I didn’t do anything last year!) so I’ve changed it down to running 3 times a week. Also we have a dog so when the weather is decent I’ll take her out at lunch. Agree that going to the office is tiring (thought it was just me!) so only go in if I have to. Re: motivation - I have a weekday routine which I stick to and I find doing that helps me mentally. But if im sick etc then I allow myself to rest ❤
Hi Ellen, and thanks for this video! I love how the message and timing of it are absolutely perfect, everything you mentioned truly resonates with me. I felt like I was on track to meet my goals until earlier this week when I sort of got confirmation that my craft/mastery wasn’t quite there yet on a project (which I knew I was not ready to show for and that’s okay), and so it got delayed to almost two months later, and another project fell behind because courses that I booked to advance on it got cancelled, and although it’s quite frustrating to have to adjust your deadlines, I’ve been managing with the idea of enjoying the journey and it’s alright if all my (high) expectations can’t be met just yet, I’ll just move the deadline and give myself more time and I’ll get there when I get there. I still feel truly very grateful for what I have and your videos do help with the motivation part. It feels like talking with a friend who has the same mindset, with her own goals, and we can support each other. So here’s my way of supporting you: a like and a comment. Love from France :)
Love the gardening content! If you google how to prune individual plants it will tell you the correct time to do it. The majority of plants are pruned in spring/autumn. Pruning too early can leave them at risk of damage and disease due to the weather!
thank you! I might have been a bit too keen - i googled and it said 'late winter'.. so im probably a bit over excited but hopefully its not too bad! ❤️
I'm sure the hydrangea will either benefit from the pruning or forgive you! Gardening is a wonderful way to relax before you know it your 20 mins will become 2 hours and your garden will be fab. Can totally relate to adjusting goals its not failing just being flexible and realistic. Have a good week. x
Hey Ellen, lovely vlog, you have been keeping me company while I have been very poorly 🤒 with Covid, really hit me hard this time, 3rd time I have had it! So did it zest the lemon 🍋 or is it going to be a cute spoon rest 😂. Oh are you giving up your cashmere cream for new routine 😢, you seemed to never want to stop using that. I love how you have realised that your life just isn’t able to fit it all in, and for sharing it, not many would, proud of you. Have a super week ❤
Oh I’m so sorry to hear you’ve been poorly - I was after I got back from SA too. It seems like the time of year everyone is getting ill. It’s going to be a cute spoon rest 😂 it didn’t do the job well at all 😂 and I’m definitely using the cashmere cream moisturiser!! I use it after my skin + me 🥰 the skin + me isn’t a replacement for moisturiser, just an additional step I’ve added after washing my face before moisturising ❤️ thank you for leaving a lovely comment. Have a lovely week! xxx
You are very welcome, sorry you were not well after SA either. Loved that vlog also ❤. 😂😂 that made me laugh about the spoon rest. Also totally get the mindset of being less pessimistic when my sister died of cancer 6 years ago that totally switched my mindset to being positive and living life to the fullest ❤. Great hype you are on it’s infectious 😊xx
Another great vlog! You’ve really made a difference to my life - inspiring me to practise self-love and enjoy the present more, while also striving towards being the best version of myself I can be. Thank you! ❤
Hi Ellen! I’ve recently come across your channel and subscribed immediately after watching some of the videos. Your vision of life appeals to me and I really enjoy the atmosphere of your vlogs ❤️
Hi 😊, I found your channel a few weeks ago and have been really enjoying “hanging out with you.” I’ve already tried a few of your recipes as well as a workout recommendation so, thank you! Hope you have a great week!
Just love your channel Erin ❤ a doctor told me last week that winter is supposed to be a time of rest, resetting and being slow. January never feels like the best goal setting time to me. Take this season to take a breath ❤ P.s I think you need to handcuff your hands to something to stop the manic hand gestures 😂
Hi Ellen, lovely vlog and totally agree re adapting goals and especially seasonally. I’ve over the past few days changed a couple of goals, as there is nothing worse than doing goals you feel aren’t currently right for you, or are not working. Also we grow all the time and sometimes what we want to focus on changes. Beautiful cake! Have a wonderful week ❤
Hi Ellen, thank you so much for your video and your answers on motivation. But I wonder what you do to he disciplined. I am not disciplined at all. So I get what you are saying. But somehow you do it anyway. But how? What are your tricks? Also I get that you are not feeling like filming when you are low or having a real bad day but can you film a bad day routine or something? How do you get yourself out bed? How are you getting yourself showing up for work. That is so difficult for me. And what do you do when you are at home to make you feel better or just to get trough the day... all tips abd tricks are welcome. I was just very sick again. A nasty tonsillitis. I had so much pain. I am feeling better but it is the first day without pain and i am still very tired. So video's about a sickday routine or selfcare routine are more then welcome to. Wish you the best week. ❤❤❤
Oh cool! that's so interesting - it didnt work great for the lemon i have to say 😂 i'll give it a go to grate garlic - thank you for letting me know! ❤️
New subscriber after getting recommended a few of your older videos hehe. I love the way you say *we* as to include your viewers 🌷 After watching some previous videos, I feel like I get to learn alot from you and you're such a lovely and very british girlie xx
ELLEN! you are a fantastic gardener in the making 👩🏽🌾 love your positivity, great thing about gardening if it goes bad you try again next year 😉 the cake looks delicious 🍰
Hi, Helen, How's your day going? I hope your day is going well. Long time no see, It's good to have you back. I'm always happy to see your videos and Your daily life is amazing. Thank you very much for this video, You always have good habits and I'm really happy for you. Thanks for the advice, Take good care of yourself and Have a nice day at work. 🙂👍👏👏👏
I have skin and me but haven’t used it yet. I think you have scared me off by talking about active ingredients and the different way you use it, why do you treat this product differently from any other face cream? Just so I know!
Its different to a moisturiser because it contains stronger ingredients - and if your skin isnt use to using creams other than moisturisers it can be sensitive to the strength of the ingredients at first (mine was). But I love it because I was ready to start doing more for my skin than just moisturising and cleaning it - e.g. for me i wanted to improve skin texture and prevent aging, so the ingredients in my Daily Doser are promoting new skin cell growth and removing dead skin cells. Definitely don't be scared of it, if you've been through the consultation process you'll have access to all the info you need. I just loved having tips and tricks on how to get into a new world of skincare if it is new to you! ❤
Have you considered that you are masking yourself at times and you are trying to be what society tells you to be? I really think there is actual value in you discussing and displaying the times where life is meh. I find your videos great but I also feel as someone who is neurodivergent will never be where you are. So seeing the other side of you for me would be something very interesting
hahah I definitely have a lot to learn! I googled it before and it said to prune hydrangea 'late winter' or if its a climbing hydrangea then at the end of summer/early autumn. But i definitely need to get myself some gardening books! ❤️
You have to cut it back before the green leaves are to big. I already done it last week. Only the old heads and dead pieces. And my Hydrangea flowers beautiful in summer.
If there is a sharp frost or any snow then it will affect the new growth. The flower usually stops the frost getting into the plants core. I would also look at the dead wood in them this can be removed. We are in a strange time this year as we are experiencing a very strange winter not cold and way to warm. So you might get away with it
For many years now i cut them back when the leaves are small. And even when there was snow and frost they did bloom beautiful. But maybe ive been lucky for all those years 😉.
