      I need your opinion,a camgirl added me from tinder on snap, sent me legit snaps but I assumed were fake especially one was on her ig, she genuinely shared interests,but she couldn’t FaceTime or send audios to me cause of her contract with the managers. I ended up liking her but after a week she asked for money to help her pay for her contract,I said no and she threatened to kill herself if I did not cause she loved me and I was gonna help her,so I didn’t but another different account told me she cut herself and the managers wouldn’t call the ambulance unless I did, so I did…she “passed away” next morning and she said I was gonna go to jail as well as from separate accounts with many followers, was I scammed?

    There's the Grandmother Scam. I got a call , a male asking for help. He said he was my grandson. I asked why did he sound funny. He said his lips and mouth had stitches in it. He told me that he'd drank alcohol and hit a car. He needed 5 thousand dollars for bail out of jail. He gave me a phone number of a lawyer and a case number. My son, a cop was at my house. The so-called lawyer called me. My son took the phone and told the "lawyer " that he would give him a number to call and told him it would be a three way call and determine if he was legit. The man asked what was the number to. My son told him that it was the Unit Police Post. The lawyer hanged up the phone. The caller had a Middle Eastern accent but he was trying to act like his mouth was sore. I've worked with Middle Eastern doctors before. That's why the voice sounded slightly familiar to me.

      Once I was called by someone pretending to be my grandson. He said he was in jail in Los Vegas and needed 10k for bail. What he didn’t know was my grandson was at my house in MI the day before and because he was in the service I knew where he was and there was no way he was in Los Vegas. I just laughed at him, told him I knew he wasn’t my grandson, and hung up.

    This is shocking...it seems that the horrific things in this messed up world continue to get more and more depraved. I thought I was unshockable, but this cruel reality and it's sheer numbers is next level! I cling to my faith in these times and pray for all those who are caught up in these terrors and living nightmares. I have lived through repeated shocking traumatic events, taken many many years of therapy and prayer support to live with and survive these things and losses and my heart goes out to all those affected by this barbaric treatment. Such a cruel world.
    I thank God for the rare lights in the darkness and pray for protection for Lindsey and anyone else involved in providing help to those desperately seeking a way out. Praying too for our loved ones to be protected from the sophisticated hateful scams, that are becoming far too commonplace.

      I always thought I was never going to fall for these scams. Embarrassing to say the least. They used AI to copy my daughters voice. Pretty accurately. I was convinced. She was crying and gasped out the story about having been arrested, she was in an accident broke her nose but had hit a pregnant woman. They were taking her phone away and I would be contacted by an attorney and gave me a case number. He called. Assured me we would get her out but he needed cash to do so. Now as I look back this should have been my moment of clarity but my heart was motivating my actions. He wanted 20,000 dollars, impossible is what I said. He dropped down to 10,000 but I couldn’t do that either. He needed it ASAP. Decided on 4,000 and my race was on. Had to borrow from money put away and he had said he knew I was upset but the news had changed and the pregnant woman had lost her baby. They had a courier to pick up money and once the courier who actually was a courier and checked out. Bottom line no longer was I able to contact this attorney. Had no idea what jail my daughter was in and proceeded to contact several police departments to find my daughters arresting department and what jail she was in. Finally got a local P D who said I was probably being scammed. Called my daughters landline and she was at home all that time. Made a report but fruitless. I would still swear it was my daughters voice. I felt gullible, I felt stupid but got over that and share my story whenever I can. I am now so angry that these people spend their time hurting and ripping people off. using such brutal tactics. We need have a safe word

    Omg didn't realise the stories behind these scammers. Still wrong to steal anybodys hard earned cash. We all need to be vigilante so as we don't fall victim to them. They need to be stopped.

      The governments in those third world countries do nothing to stop them. They get kickbacks from the scammer bosses. It’s up to us to protect ourselves and not send money to anyone. Then they’ll go away when there’s no one left to give them money.

    Andrew, I could’ve fallen to a scam, but I didn’t because I can be mean without guilt. I knew it was a scam because I know my bank does not call, but sends messages. This guy was very persuasive, and played a guilty trip on me telling that was a being bad mannered to him when he was trying to help me. The truth is that he gave up before the whole script went on because he realized I was tough, and hung up. I just cannot be nice enough. 😅 But for nice people out there, I am sure the scam would work beautifully. They play very sophisticate mind games. Be mean people!

    I got a text asking if I was someone, I forgot the name. I told them wrong number and they tried to strike up conversation but I didn't engage after I told them no problem when they fake apologized for bothering me and having the wrong number. I'm glad I had heard about the text thing on UA-cam before they texted me. No matter, I'd never send money for any reason... investing or any other reason.

    I'm so suspicious now, that when a well known company sent me an email yesterday offering me £100 discount on a vacuum cleaner, I thought it was a scam so rang their company and just started to tell them the content of the email and the lady laughed and said no, it's not a scam, we couldn't provide you with a spare part so it's a goodwill offer. It's very unusual for companies now days to make these sort of offers. Sad isn't it that we trust no one now.

    I’m saddened by how few comments address the enslaved labor. That’s an atrocity - at least an American/Western target has a shot of recognizing that a scammer is trying to play them but people basically enslaved to work 16-hour days at this?
    Americans need to think more globally - and broadly in general ffs; we can’t even begin to address and tackle problems without that change in mentality. I’m truly tired of this aspect of the United States.

    One of your most harrowing videos yet. I had to stop listening at certain points (even though I watch all your videos). The truth is (unpopular opinion alert!) we can’t change anything about these people. They belong to a rotten system that stems from the ‘top up’: a country with a history of dictatorship and violence (Cambodia) that is in cahoots with their equally unsavoury neighbours (China, an authoritarian regime). Their police, judiciary and local people are truly f***ed. That’s pretty much across all of Asia. You can’t change anything, unless you change the entire system. I’d advise Lizzie Kennedy to get the hell out. She’s in grave danger of reprisal.

    When I was listening to this podcast, my mind chose its own direction and I understand now, I have to refine #TyPeSCaPe or the 5 levels of the PROCES again
    TyPeSCaPe -> TPS + SCP
    TPS = Trends - Patterns - Structures
    SCP = Systems - *Concepts* - Processes (also plural, but with a longer stainability)
    In other words, it's work in progress for everyone of us ...

    They called my mom pretending to be police claiming I had hit and killed someone while driving and was injured and in custody. They had a voice clip of me yelling to my mom to help me. I literally walked in the door as she was on the phone with them-she fainted when she saw me. I took the phone and asked who it was- they repeated their whole scam. I took any info they provided for making a payment to authorities . 2 days later -same scam got $10000 from our neighbor.

The name was female. I said they had the wrong person. They said sorry. Then a few days later I get the message 'you sounded nice, do yiu want to chat' etc. I reported them as a scammer immediately.
