The figure is actually misassembled, if you swap the beast legs they will be much more flush to the backpack

What are you talking about? The legs can't swap. The only thing that I've heard was mis-assembled are the feet.
Ravage’s cg model for the show was a budget thing, the lower half is actually just a recolour of transmetal cheetor, whilst the head was just recoloured from tigatrons beast mode, I’m pretty sure the pyramid head part was to blend the head into the model and hide the fact it’s neck was originally in a different place
I think the arms were just basic cybertronian arms they had, so that’s why ravage looks so weird, because his model was just a bunch of recoloured assets stuck together with whatever new they could afford
I knew that he was based on other models because that's how beast wars are operated, but I didn't know exactly which ones.

In defense of the giant guns, it was the 90s so everyone was giving their characters giant guns even if they didn’t make sense.
Aside from that, I really love this figure. Probably not worth $60 but it’s the only con exclusive I got this year…..mostly because for some reason Hasbro revealed a retail version of that Pudgy Pig months before the con version was even released. Smart move, Hasbro! Almost as smart as your underwhelming tiers for that Rancor. 👍

You know, the MMC R40 Ravage does have reference to his reformatted look in Beast Wars. All it is is just him shifting his front paws into hands and then having him stand upright while repositioning his head down, but you would probably prefer that look over what they went for him in Beast Wars.
But as weird as Beast Wars Ravage may look, he will forever have one of the best lines/quotes in the show.

@@PerspectiveEnd I think it may have to do with it being IDW that raises the price, I don’t know. That or it’s because he comes with stuff for their take on IDW Megatron. I mean I would like to get their rendition of Rung that they just released, but he’s around $150.
I love Ravage's appearance in Beast Wars because no matter what medium he's in I will never be able to imagine him with any other voice. It makes all of his IDW scenes immediately better than they already were just having this comparatively tiny cat walk in and speak with this deep Russian baritone.
Fun fact: panther refers to cats in the panthera genus which includes, tigers, lions, leopards, snow leopards, and jaguars. The black panther is mostly either a leopard or a jaguar with a recessive allele (leopard) or a dominant allele (jaguar) that causes melanism; however any other of the panthera genus that can have melanism can be a panther. So a lion can definitely be a panther.

Is now a bad time to mention that Ravage was made of re used assets from other characters? Body and leg are Transmetal Cheetor, arms are regular Cheetor minus the arm panels, and the head is... Tigatron's Beast mode's head.
So yes it's still the wrong species, but it's a tiger. Though frankly they could have ended up with a more accurate head by tweeking Cheetor's head, because Jaguars and Cheetahs are actually fairly closely related.
Came here to say this. A true budget Franken-former. Not mad about though, I loved the cgi design.
Yeah I knew that he was basically just a hodgepodge of parts of other characters.
And I figured that was Tigatron's head, but it does come across more liony than the normal Tigatron.
He was also recolored into transmetal Tigatron
It does a pretty good job of recreating what was on screens, and the G1 Ravage was a fun added bonus.
BW Ravage was pretty memorable, despite the short time he had. Glad he’s getting a figure, but honestly would’ve preferred Depth Charge or Rampage to come before him.
Here's the funny thing about that, I actually forgot that he was in the show for years before ivory watched the episodes back when netflix started.

I believe those scopes on G1 Ravage are heat seekers or something, also I like to imagine those missiles are just pods containing micro missiles that fire out of the studs on the missile tips.

I’ve been binge watching your channel for a week now. I’m actually quite surprised at how people can have such drastic tastes. For me for example, I LOVE the transformers Animated designs, I LOVE the prime designs, I LOVE the game’s designs and I absolutely loved the design of ravage in the show, oh yeah I love beast wars designs too. I’m still trying to figure out what fits your taste after a week and I have no clue. I can never tell if a character fits your aesthetic or not 😂, ever. Every review I’m about to watch is a complete mystery box…

I recently figured out one of my main issues with the WFC/FOC stuff. The torsos are too bloated. Slim the torsos down and I think they look a lot better.

I think the feet had to be wrong for the sake of the transformation, Unless they cut out the big cat feet as partsforming, and that would’ve been 20 times as cursed.
Also, that aside you made at the Masterpiece Ravage compared to the G1 Ravage gives me creepy parallels to Modern Masterpiece vs CHUG. the later may be more Correct and higher quality (usually), but...CHUG can be messed around with and toyed with endlessly (usually)
I wonder if Ravage in the show was just the Cheetor’s model with the most obvious “Ravage” details stapled on…

It was more than just that Cheetor character model.
It was really a hodgepodge of parts from all over.
I think the reason beind Ravages organic animal head is because the show had a low budget and just re-used the model from Tigatrons beastmode head and changed it a little bit.
I mean that's obviously the wheel life reason as to why he has that head.

Ravage in beastwars looks as weird as he does because hes a Hodgepodge of recycled
model parts, i believe this was done as a cost cutting measure.
his body is least partially just Transmetal Cheetors body recycled, especially apparent in the legs.
and his head is just flat out Tigatrons beast mode head thats been modified.
i`m not sure where the arms come from, i think they might be recycled from Tigatron and cheetors robot modes with some pieces missing maybe.
I figured that, but I was not sure where all the parts came from.

In beast wars the gathering comic they gave ravage cheetors form 3 and it works really well in my opinion for ravage more than I think for cheetor

His design was based on budget. They put Tigatron's head on transmetal Cheetor's body. Even as a kid, I could tell they just threw him together. He's still iconic though. RussianRavage ftw. 🙌
Yeah I get that, that's how they did a lot of stuff in beast wars, like Megatons body before he scanned the T. Rex was based on something from Reboot.
I’m thinking of getting this figure but honestly I’m not sure, he feels out of place to me as he’s the only none season 1 character to get a figure in Kingdom.

I'd say the other problem with the head is that it's textured and was smooth in the show.
You know what you're right, I didn't notice that but it should not have a texture to it.
I hope this figure gets repainted into transmetal Tigatron someday. There was an old botcon version of that but that figure, but that thing is really expensive. There was a comic where Tigatron and Air razor were brought back by the Vok after Tigerhawk died. I liked that because Tigatron is my favorite Beast Wars character and really got dealt a bad hand by the show after season 1.
You know I didn't think of that, but it is a solid idea. I'm surprised they haven't Hinted at it yet.

I used to think this guy was Shadow Panther when I was a kid. My only exposure to Ravage was ROTF and I knew nothin about G1 other than "Why's Optimus truck mode just a box". Nowadays I love Ravages inclusion more but the highlight for me is the Megatron message in the golden disc. Makes me wonder what a 90s CG styled G1 show would be like. *And no the Netflix series doesn't count*

Correct me if I am wrong but I believe that ravage is a jaguar in both g1 and beast wars not a panther. His Japanese name is jaguar as well. And the reason why older figures alt modes where so vaguely feline because more often than not he was a repainted or a repaint to other feline transformers . The headlump looks like a beanie to me or a Jewish Yamaka and to me either is hilarious
But I think you're correct about him being a jaguar, the jaguars aren't black. He's some kind of large cap that's really all that matters.
And yeah I thought about making a yamaka joke about it, but I decided against it.
@@PerspectiveEnd yeah wouldn't even to hard to make it tasteful . Actually all big cats have a trait that is called melanism which can give them a black coloring this include lions, jaguars, panthers , tigers and cougars among others.

This thing is such a fun figure. I ordered him immediately, he came in a week, and he's so fun! And I now carry the G1 Ravage in my pocket every time I go out in public.

I came across this figure a couple weekend ago. Thought he looked really cool and kinda wanted to get him. But as soon as I saw his price point I said no thanks. I’m not paying a border line leader price point for a deluxe class figure with an extra gun
There is a tiny tiny amount more than just one extra gun, but yeah the price is too high.
Though that is normal for a convention exclusive.
I heard about it, but I haven't seen the three part Beast Wars episode "The Agenda", that features Ravage. And I honestly won't see until I get my hands on this Covert Agent and G1 Ravage 2-pack. As it's pretty cool. But to quote this exclusive set in two words, "Decepticons Forever!"

So I’ve been rewatching some of your older video’s and when I got to this one, I just realized the Covert Agent Ravage’s design is similar to the Transmetal Tigertron. How possible do you think it is that we might get a Redeco of Transmetal Tigertron?

One of my favorites from kingdom by far. I personally dig the idea of Ravage being an undercover agent for the Tripredicus council, why is he russian? Writers were on some wild stuff back in the 90s.

TL;DR Lion Ravage still makes sense
I don’t see anyone mentioning this so I’m just gonna say “Panthers” aren’t an animal the way you think they are. “Panther” referers to and animal in the Panthera genus which includes, lions tigers, leopards and the like. Leopards and Jaguars are just more likely to exhibit the black coloration we associate with “Panthers.” So technically, a lion head works for Ravage.

Story time! I actually got this guy mid September! I saw someone on Twitter saying that EB Games had Ravage early one night, so I went the next day and got one! However, when I went in the next day, I found out that they had screwed up and they weren't supposed to put them out yet, since the street date was October 22nd. So, there I was, mid September, with Pulsecon Ravage long before anyone else had one. It was a pretty nice feeling, since I normally get stuff long after everyone else
That's a pretty cool story.
But I don't know based on the pictures I've seen of this figured this seems like the way that they're supposed to be.

Why does G1 Ravage's hip rockets have swcopes when they're rockets meant to detatch and fly away?
Better question, why did the Bumblebee design change them into guns, but still had then clearly look like rockets, INCLUDING having the scopes!?

I just kinda assumed that the cat mode was more of a homage to the original Ravage since the G1 Ravage turned into a cat

Out of the Ravage set, the Quintesson Pit of Judgement set, and the G1-toy colored Refraktor set, which exclusive set is the best? Mine is the Ravage, although he is facing some stiff competition with the Quintessons(And I’m not gonna get the Refraktor as I like the show’s color set better).
Also I’m pretty sure they just reused the Tigatron beast mode head on BW Ravage’s show model so they could save money on making new assets. That’s what I’ve been thinking since I first watched the show. I do think it works well and suits the character, but I can’t help but notice the resemblance. Have you ever noticed that?

2:36 okay heres a big cat lesson. The term panther refers to big cats within the family "pantherinae". Some examples include lions, leopards, jaguars, etc. A "black panther" isn't actually a different species of big cat but rather a leopard or a jaguar with black fur. Its actually a birth defect called "melanism". Its similar to albinism but instead its a black coat of fur. So ravage having a lion's head is somewhat accurate. Accept i think they are going for a leopard or a jaguar. Not a lion. Though I don't know if the designers actually knew this.

I do not believe that is correct no, he's supposed to be more like a KGB agent.
Black panther was not popular at the time of beast wars. It would be unlikely that this was done as a reference to him.
Also I'm not sure if there's a variant going around, but my Ravage doesn't have pupils.

I thought Ravage looked Bad Ass when the first time he was in Beastwars and he probably looked like that because of the time that had passed between G1 and the Beast Wars Saga especially since the Maximals and Predacons look vastly different from AUTOBOTS & Decepticons
I guess there was nothing stopping him from getting plastic surgery in the millions of years between the series.
Hey quick question. What do you think of the fact the Beast Wars writers gave Ravage a Russian accent in the show?
I thought it was strange at the time, but it doesn't really bother me.
I assumed all beast wars fans adored Ravage’s design. That head is uggo. At least Lions are Panthers leo I guess. Love the beast head movement though. It’s like Ravage, Airazor, Primal, and Megatron get it and that’s it.
I like to think the hand cannons are a last resort thing. I love the holsters allowing for the G1 homage.
I wonder how the show feet could have been accommodated. Probably by re-engineering the entire legs. You can pop and swap the front legs BTW. They were probably just assembled wrong.
As for the lump…it’s a tumour. Terminal. This is the real reason why Ravage accepted death so readily in the finale of the show. He had 3 months left.
If I were to redo beast wars, I would have had Shadow Panther be like Prime Soundwave as Megatron’s lieutenant, never loosing a straight up fight(though he could be trapped or something). As the series goes on, he would be seen swiping little bits of technology from crashed pods and Vok stuff until eventually he puts it all together. After season(s) of silence. He activates the machine, puts his finger to his ear. “Covert agent Ravage reporting in”. The idea is he was planted into Megatron’s crew by the Tripredacous council to keep tabs on Megatron but even with Ravage’s knowledge weren’t able to prevent the theft of the golden disk, and thus just kept going with everyone else as they escaped Cybertron leading to the opening of the show.

2:36 Quadrupedal Jaguar evolve... congratulations, you have been ugpraded into a humanoid bipedal Lion looking creature? Like seriously, how could they confused Jaguar's head with Lion's head. It must be weird being the only humanoid robot with beast head that couldn't even turn into beast mode. I guess, he still is, the first iteration of beast mode Transformers(beast/beast looking body for robot mode and other thing for alt mode). Or is he? I mean, he only have beast head instead of the usual animal/beast looking like most of the RID 2015 villains, it's the other way around. They look like BW Ravage, maybe they are the third iteration of beast Transformers! People still clasify them as the same(the first iteration of beast Transformers). Maybe that's only in my head.
Moving on, yeah, his robot mode looks amazing, his accessories are amazing, G1 Ravage inclusion is nice and the Alt mode is weird. All and all, he is an impressive figure and this is an impressive set, just sucks that this is an exclusive and expensive set. And 1 thing... what is with Rattrap Mafia? It's so weird I love it and found it funny. Anyway, great review.

The front legs in beast mode on my copy were swapped. I had to pop them off and switch them to what they were supposed to be. But I saw some stock photos that were also like this, maybe it’s just a huge mistake hasbro made with the figure
I think that's the way they're supposed to be, the pictures I've seen of him have them put this way.
