I mean honestly I've never heard Michael play anything remotely impressive. Fucking tremendous composer and arranger and certainly a fantastic bassist but I definite haven't ever heard him play anything particularly inspiring, even in Snarky Puppy. He's even talked in interviews about how little time he's spent practicing outside of college. His faces are 10/10 though, looks like he had time to practice those pretty good.

@@Earth_to_Kensho...ComeInKensho I’ve been playing BASS for 50 years as a session musician for many artists. His technique is not polished and his style is not so great. Speedy work is always appreciated but not talented. I’ve worked with Doug Wimbish, Mike Porcaro, and Pat Metheny.

Artist. Tune is Jan-Jan, played by Grant Green, though that, itself, is apparently a cover of the Fabulous Counts' version of that tune. @@lilkujo Yes I did!! My point is, and taking your example as mine now, Pastorius wrote the song, and also created a way of thinking on bass. @@rodrigocostamagna3896 I hear you. Besides all these humans who aren't ML (or any other bassist for that reason) that bring up that Jaco comparison I wonder what the actual bassist think. Only Michael League could rock a full zipped track suit...and be the coolest guy in the room.
part of me wants to take that as a challenge, but i know exactly how pointless that would be
