👏
how does it all end? everyone has a good laugh and heads home with anger/shame or do aphrodite & ares remain caught in the web for eternity?

It is ridiculous trying to judge the deep female sexual desire, and it is stupid trying to vindicate a sexual betrayal: this is in my opinion the lesson we could infer from this myth. It is the lesson Herodotus gives us in the first book of his opera. Judgement and vindication drive to war: it is much better laughing, as Gods do. Odysseus, though he is innocent, learns it on his skin. E questo vale anche per le donne.
