What amazes me is that the first part of the song sounds a lot like thrash metal from the 80s (Metallica, Anthrax, etc). No other metal band in the 70s sounded quite like this. They were truly ahead of their times!

This song emphasizes how talented each member is. Bill is tearin it up on the drums, Geezer cuttin loose on the bass, Ozzy belting out those lyrics, and Tony shredding those cords.

The band "Impellitteri" featuring Guitar God Chris Impellitteri does the absolute best version of this. They play it so damn well it makes this version sound unfinished, incomplete. Look it up here on youtube they did a video for it. Even the most diehard Sabbath fans will like it.

the music, and even the band itself... in fact, all of the founding members are still alive; a rare occurrence for rock stars. Although Ronnie James Dio is no longer with us, he was not a founding member. Fun fact: of the founding members, "Geezer" Butler is actually the youngest. In Cockney slang, "geezer" is kind of like "dude" in the USA; it doesn't have the connotation of someone who is old.
