HELP i took my Mazda six to a mechanic i lost steering .pully had come of ,i took it to a mechanic he replaced the belt pully cost me about 500 dollars , a month later the pully came of again took it back he replaced the pully or put it back on cost over 300 dollars? about a month later it happen again , the mechanic who has a large work shop says he is not Shure why its happening ANY BODY CAN HELP ME PLS
the pulley has come of 3 time in two month i had a new one fited ?help please
the idler seems to drop, and pully comes of ?hapend 3 times in two month its back at the mechanic now , cost me over 1000 dollars
Thanks for posting this. I did most of this on my 2010 about a month ago. It was good for me to see a competent mechanical person struggling a bit with this job because I thought I was missing something obvious. Getting the idler bolt located with all of the spacers was a pain. Then I had such difficulty with a new belt from AutoZone that I thought it was the wrong one. It just wouldn't go on without a risking damage. I even pulled out the coolant tank for more access. Thankfully, when my idler pulley bearing failed, the belt survived, so I just reused the old one. I still plan to replace it but think a few extra millimeters in length will help and there is plenty of unused movement in the tensioner to handle a bit more belt length.
To be totally honest this one was not bad at all. I had a few cases where lots of sweat and swearing was involved, haha
