    Really like your explanation of the controlling arm and the pivot step. I love trainers who can break down the movement and then the scenario of when and why to use the technique. Too many trainers are just teaching drills because they like them. Good job man.

    Thanks, those are some useful drills ! I've always been a bit confused about pivots, it makes sense when going to the left / clockwise, but when going right / counterclockwise, you have to step the lead leg to the right which breaks the boxing rule of not crossing your feet. Or is this just the exception that proves the rule ? Thanks.

    • @slicksouthpaw
      @slicksouthpaw 7 років тому

      juandenz2008 I noticed that as well, I would think that in a live situation you could be knocked off balance stepping across your back foot and hit with a monster shot

    • @slicksouthpaw
      @slicksouthpaw 7 років тому

      juandenz2008 when pivoting counter clockwise you put your weight on your front foot and pivot, when pivoting clockwise shift your weight to your back foot and the pivot clockwise! This front foot pivot move is dangerous as it leaves you off balance

    • @rickyspires4033
      @rickyspires4033 5 років тому

      You are right and I noticed this too. Crossing you feet like that will leave you vulnerable. Your better off pivoting counter clockwise without the step. Watch some Brandon Krause videos on pivoting he explains it well

    I always forget to use my hand to get out the way and find it awkward moving my head when sparring I think this will definitely help, thanks for the video!

      Drill that shit bro.
      During bagwork, shadow and padwork.
      The more you drill it, the more it'll just happen without you even thinking about it during sparring.
      Whilst sparring, you shouldn't have to think about anything other than figuring out your opponent's patterns and game plan.

      Moreno Boxing I notice Mayweather pivots changing stance, with front foot and back foot pivots....can you do a simple demo on back foot pivots and when used...whether to create distance or to change up the angle of approach. Floyd use so many different feints as well.
