Faroese Folk superstar Eivør - also know for film, television and games soundtrack fame (just think about The Last Kingdom or God of War) - starts a new chapter with the beautiful album ENN! Often considered to be one of the most prolific and unique Nordic artists of her generation, Eivør has released 11 studio albums to date, crossing musical genres and always pushing the bounds of the expected. Awarded with the Nordic Council Music Price in 2021, Eivør’s musical journey continues to fascinate. Both channeling her inner Viking Poetry and Dreampop Electronica, Eivor is perfect for fans of Heling, Wardruna, Eluveitie, but also Bjork, Kate Bush, and Robyn!

Eivør is such a beautiful human.❤❤
Thank you for this great interview! I've heard the new album and absolutely love it. Regarding language - as an English speaker in the US I like to check out the translation (if available) to learn the meaning of the lyrics, but then prefer to listen to the songs in their original language because it just fits better musically. Hoping to catch her live at some point!
Great interview! You asked Eivør about the increase popularity in the viking music, I can explain how I came across to her music. I grew tired of the American music scene as it lacks life, talent, stories, and real creativity. I was listening to random European music and I came across Eivør's music and I instantly became a fan. Her music is much more than what I was looking for and unexpected. Truly unique, beautiful voice taken to it's max. I don't know what else to say but she is some of the best sound on planet earth.
Thanks for sharing! Let us know what you think of the new album when it's out Friday!
i can reccomend a lot of bands - mostly scandinavian - more to you.
@@soleywolfgangsdottir List some of those bands, I'll check them out. :)

Her little laugh/giggle ❤
Thank you for this interview! One of the most important things I get from this is that Eivør does what feels good and natural. It is so important to be yourself when creating anything. One of the most powerful things about Eivørs music is the language. Some songs just don't work in English. The English version of Slør is really well done, but the English version doesn't bring the vibe of the message as clearly as the Faroese version. Can't wait to go to the live show in Utrecht in October.
Thanks for sharing that! Will that be your first show or have you seen her before?
@@BelgianJasper I have had the pleasure to hear her live at Castlefest (Lisse, NL) in 2018. See this video: ua-cam.com/video/HTlO7XaYLZ8/v-deo.html
We are seeing her Oct performance in Goteberg👍
One of the best Eivør interviews ever!
I appreciate your comment! What do you think of the new album?
@@BelgianJasper It's great, it's deep. I love, in particular Ein Klóta, Enn and Gaia. It's different than anything she has done before - and I'm an Eivør fan since 2010 - but still perfectly coherent with her whole trajectory. Eivør defies genre classification and she remained faithful to herself. She matures beautifully like good wine. She's not anymore the explosive teen of "Nu brennur tu i maer", but her heart 💜 is the same. Beautiful.
Nu brennur tu i maer - I'm not a metalhead but I think you might like it: ua-cam.com/video/-Ni6L76ljVI/v-deo.htmlsi=UHe95XOE2Mj7LzxL
Eivør soars so high above the rotting landscape of modern autotuned trashpop. She is a powerful Nordic spirit who walks among us, and anything she performs is worth hearing. Such a beautiful and talented woman.
Great interview and love the new album "ENN" Can't wait for you to tour the US again ♥️🎶
@@hopewilliams-mann8220 👊👊👊 what's your favorite song on the new album?
@@BelgianJasper It's so hard to say, because I love the whole album just like all her other albums I have. Each song brings so much joy to me. When she sings like an angel that she is and then I really like the songs that are dramatic and tribal, because they take me back to my favorite series "The Last Kingdom," which is where I found her and started listening to all her music ♥️ 🎶 I've listened to her songs so many times that I'm actually able to sing along, even if I don't know what I'm singing 😄 because of course some are in her Faroese language. This album doesn't have any songs in English, so I'll be learning some more Faroese 😉 When I went to see her in SF on her first US tour I sang right along absolutely loving the performance she gave. After the show I met her at the merch counter where she was so friendly and sweet. She took the time to sign all my albums I have of her music ♥️🎶 that I brought with me and I got a picture with her as well. I've seen many artists over the years, but never experienced such genuine kindness and appreciation like she showed to her fans 💞 Hopefully I'll get to see her again the next time she tours the US. Until then I'll be learning all these new songs 😉♥️🎶
These four songs are what's standing out for me now, but like I said, I love the whole album, so I'll be listening and learning them all 😉♥️🎶

Its a great album.
you just have to love this woman, right?
nice interview, interesting questions
Thank you! Which single of the new album do you like the best so far?
@@BelgianJasper I think upp úr øskuni because it's so intense. looking forward to the new album. have you listened to at the heart of a selkie? that is probably my favourit work by her.
what you said about language, I think it's super important, especially for languages of tiny nations like the faroes and iceland, to keep up speaking it. I always try to deliver translations in comment sections, as far as i'm able to. thank god icelandic and faroese are related to each other
@@soleywolfgangsdottir that's definitely a cool one! I did listen to most of her discography in preparation of the interview but I gotta say that Ein Klóta on the upcoming album is her most beautiful song ever 🤔
@@BelgianJasper i'm very excited to hear it! i have been to many concerts and many artists so far, but dang, this girl is the absolut queen of them all. her vocal power is beyond everything i have experienced before and she is such a humble person, too!
i hope my replies to you won't get deleted, i have always trouble with this youtube-bug....
@@BelgianJasper ein klóta is truly divine, i've listened to a radio show on faroese radio. absolut stunning!
I am intrigued, have to give it a listen.
Album will be out soon! Let us know what you think?
@@BelgianJasper I have listen to it now, she has an amazing voice and her voice control is impeccable.
For me it is too soft but for people who like this style this is a quality product (I would love to hear a colab with her and Tyr)
@@nilshult5115 oh man such a collab would be epic!
