I had the Inferno for a while. I normally stay away from guns that I need to land to reload but even when I’m being careless I don’t run out often in that ship. The Ion can sub target the thrusters on a cutlass and pick it apart like Lego but I prefer the “Burrrrrrrt” lol
I just learned that you can use 2 of the 1S5 missile racks (classified torpedoes) I find the big torps are great for popping large landed ships. While u deal with the smaller ships. (Like a guided bomb) Lately I see clusters of landed NPC reclaimers guarded by smaller ships in atmosphere. The torps make a beautiful entrance
The Inferno's advantage: You can throw all power to shields with zero impact on DPS. With a pair of FR-76s, you can absorb 1200 HP/Sec all day long. That's useful for a ship that barely handles better than a Connie.
I really want an Ares Ion, im working my ass off to save enough to get it, im a new player since like 2 weeks ago, been doing a lot of bunkers (learned to not die too often xD) and now i got my very first Million. Ship is $2,8 M UEC, maybe next month i'll be able to buy it, i hope. Thanks for this video!
With the Polaris being out and having a big enough hangar to fit the Ares inside, reloading wouldnt be a big issue right? If that is the case, the Inferno could be the better choice?
I honestly think the bad handling is purely for balancing reasons. The better these two bad boys handle the more op they become until there is no reason left to bring anything else to the fight.
Did you not watch this video before making that comment? He said that multiple times. Slvr won't say it because he's nice, but that ignorance was rude of you
@@nistramai First of all, THAT was rude. Second of all, I made this comment before even knowing what the Inferno or the Ion even were. Thirdly, Slvr already replied and told me about it. Rude.
@RespiteofChampions No its not dude, it's just calling you out. Again, you didn't need to know what they were as it was said multiple times in the video you can't swap them. If you kept not listening to me like that on my ship I'd make you walk the plank out the airlock.

I've got to try more sub targeting with it 😂

@@Blue-Mystic nah it shares power. The inferno is ballistic so no power needed. If you switch power to weapon in the ion you get more shots.
@@MrSlvr2000 very sad. but, like you, i also prefer not to reload. i'll keep saving for it and in the meanwhile videos like this really helps. Thanks!
If you want to earn money faster, you can run some mining by renting Greycat Roc and Cutlass Black 😉
@@cmdrserpikirkbiwan2811 i had not tried mining yet, not out of the prison at least ;-p thanks for the advice !
hit me up if you want to do some Trading runs ... i make 450k per run (20min)

I'm not sure you can reload aboard the Polaris yet. I believe it's just a hangar at the moment.
I was hoping for more info on the characteristics difference between laser and ammo...
With every patch they are constantly changing and tweaking.....with they get a firm or final system in place id definitely cover it.

both are great but i just like ion better, just because I dont really like to reload the ammo that much lol 🤣🤣
The Ion was the goat when it first came out then CIG nerfed it and became useless
Now can you not just put an energy cannon on the Inferno to not have to deal with the reloading? Just a question.
No it's a fixed weapon, the ships are identical except for the main cannons in color
@@MrSlvr2000 Awww, okay!! Thanks for the info. Really appreciate it!
