The fan shroud is very important. Not only does it potentially protect your fingers, it helps direct and force the flow of air through the radiator. Without it, air doesn't have to flow through the radiator, it instead flows to the areas of least resistance.
That's crazy, your radiator shroud was gone before you even got this truck?

What did you use on the thermostat. A gasket or that silicone deal? And the 6 o’clock thing. Your 6 or the pickup’s 6?

I use locking vice grips to remove/install hose clamps.
