Hi everyone, how and where do you train your ear? Let me know in the comments below! Best wishes, Chiara www.chiarapedrazzetti.com / arpapedrazzetti / chiara.pedrazzetti
I used to do this as a teenager on my piano and learned so much about the different keys. And it also trained my ears so learning music by ear is really easy for me now.
this video was soooo much fun! LMAO! :-D I have always been puzzled by "musicians" (instrumentalists, as you would call them) who say they need sheet music to be able to play ANYTHING. I always wondered how that was even possible. But now I know. When I was 5 years old, we had a piano in the house but no one to play it. I was totally fascinated by the instrument and spent hours figuring out melodies of children's songs, christmas carols etc. After one year of playing around with the instrument I had piano lessons. My ear was already developed by then. I wonder if things would turn out different if I had lessons right away (without having the chance to explore the instrument by myself) - unfortunately it is very uncommon for classical training to include playing by ear. People who "can't" do it pretend like it's super hard when in fact it's not, it just takes a little bit of practice and experimenting. I personally think playing by ear should be a very important part of music lessons - the earlier, the better. Every child should be encouraged to experiment!
Totally agree! So glad you developed your ear "by chance". It's a tragedy as well that parents don't sing at home for their children. They should get intonation and ear developing at home first!
Oh, you have to train your ear with the music of "Eurythmics" - especially with the song: "There must be an angel" ;-) Annie Lennox has studied at the Royal Academy of music - she has written and composed the songs by herself. Tricky harmonies...... lol By the way: my car has a diminished fourth sixth chord in minor.... strange&creepy
This is so much easier if you have chromatic cross strung harp. No more hassling with changing levers and modulations because all the strings are already there.
Did you know that a car horn is nearly always a major third interval? 🤣
It’s so nice to see a professional musician who doesn’t have perfect pitch and has to do what I do to figure out the key of a piece.

Yes, harp should be much more present in pop music as well!
@@chiarapedrazzettiarpatelie6470 But maybe it would cheapen such a beautiful instrument :\
@@gutsandgrittv5076 I don't think so...I think it would be a cool addition and if it's well played, it can be beautiful in any music genre!

I bet it is!!!
You should have launched the Eurovision recap songs!
....Maybe in the future! Haha
Next time bring the pedal harp in the car 😆

What harp is this?
Camac Bardic, video review here: ua-cam.com/video/KqKCx1vycpw/v-deo.html&ab_channel=ChiaraPedrazzettiARPAtelier
My biggest problem with playing along with the radio is that I detest the crap that they play. Especially American pop.
Eeeeeyuck.
Haha I have the same problem. You can play against Bach, a sacrilegious thing😅..but then you would stop practicing and listen🥰
😂
LOL😁
What harp is this?
It's a Bardic by Camac. A review video about this harp is coming soon.
