Geoff told his patrons that he was able to get the dwarves from Misty Mountains back for this - they were all available! And isn't it great to hear all their different voices. :).
Another very similarly themed cover from Geoff that I'd recommend is The Rains of Castamere. If you've seen Game of Thrones, you'll know the song. It's absolutely incredible, it's definitely worth a listen
Only Geoff I would think to take Ed Sheeran’s song and turn it into this masterpiece. I love that each of the dwarves gets his moment to shine. And as much as I love those deep low bass notes, it was the tenor part that absolutely blew me away . I’m pretty sure you’re a patron that gets to watch the behind the scenes. Just remember your line about how they must be epic lord of the rings fans😊
@@dj_410 please do a reaction video to Voice Plays cover "Peaches" ( Bowser, Mario, Luigi & Toad. ) Geoff really unleashes his inner Rock God in this one. Look out Eli Geoff is coming for you. At the end one of Layne's daughters makes a cameo appearance as Peaches. They did this live outside.

A beautiful song made even more beautiful by Mr. Castellucci's amazing talent and ability to sing incredibly...every new installment is more gorgeous and more wonderful ...he's a magician .
What always strikes me about Geoff and the other Voiceplay members is how generous they are with each other and their fans,. The talent is monumental, but they're all so humble and hysterically funny. Another triumph ❤
Simply delightful reaction. Thank you. Kathy did take many of the original Misty Mountains costume pieces, adding pieces from other videos and stock costumes (did you catch pieces from The Rains of Castamere?) for these outfits, and Rick beautifully re-created the makeup and hair for the dwarves, using the original hair appliances. Just to help your mind focus, from left to right: Kili (Geoff), Bofur (Jeff), Fili (Goff), and Thorin (Daryl) - Jeoph took the video off. ;)
I didnt know the song because ive read the books but not seen the movies. ...but hearing him sing it makes me want to see the movies now. He is a musical genius. I truly cannot comprehend how he not only has the ability to create and plan all these harmonies but ALSO the skill to perform it so beautifully. Harmonizing/blending with yourself is HARD....not even counting the insane vocal range. Truly a masterpiece.
This was an incredible reaction Sir. Geoff really sold this and it is so beautiful... I love the fact that you called back to your first reaction in the Intro. It's so sweet to think that it has only been a couple of months for you... I hope you continue to enjoy all the reactions you are doing until you, too, are as old and boring as Geoff... 😜
You should also check out his cover of Rains Of Castamere. That one rivals this one in terms of its bassy start and is probably Geoff’s bassiest song he’s put out yet
Gosh. What a beautiful rendition of this song. All I can think is of the wildfires burning in Canada and all the people who are in harm’s way tonight. My heart breaks for them. I can smell their beautiful forests burning all the way in Boston. Safety and protection be with those on the front lines fighting these fires; may they win the day and go home safe to their families. 😢
This song is something else. I am so glad that Geoff did this one and I am so glad it came out before you went on holiday. So glad you survived the rollercoaster on this one. Also, that jacket you are wearing is amazing and really suits you. More of the Top Gun aesthetic please #DJsHerd
I think one day geoff is gonna put out a song and no one will be able to hear it because his voice is gonna be so low 😂 I don't know how he keeps doing it. So good, and great reaction dj! I knew the second I heard this song that you would love it 💜🦌 #DJantlers#DJsHerd
I never doubted you would enjoy this one! I've had the Ed Sheeran on my playlist since it came out & I've always loved it but this version is just epic. Every new Geoff becomes my favourite but this one especially. I've already played the hell out of this on Patreon.
I confess. I only watched bits and pieces of the movie, I'm too huge a Tolkien's fan to stand what they did to the books. But this version of this song has me touched in the deep, moved to tears. It's just like BEING THERE, being one of the Dwarves preparing to burn and die together in the next morning "because it's what must be done", it has to do with something very VERY deep in my soul. And Geoff's voice keeps getting better every time, as do his arrangement skills. What a beautiful video and song. ❤ Thank you, nice and fun reaction as always, I totally understand. 🙂 See you next time!
I love your reactions! I watched this and other reactions enough, and was waiting for your "p!ss off!"reaction, and I howled with laughter when we got to the Bofur tenor entrance and you did not disappoint 😂 keep reacting and I'll keep watching from Baltimore!
Did anyone else spot the Easter egg ? Geoff on the far right is wearing the same key around his neck that he wore in " Misty Mountain Cold " ( in that one it was the Geoff on the far right but he was wearing different clothing.)
I remember a discussion between Geoff and Tim Foust (with a couple others, I think) discussing how to go lower and develop more bass. Tim's advice was to exercise the voice to reach higher ranges and the bass would come from there. Don't know if this is what Geoff did, but by gosh, he's singing higher ranges and really reaching into the basement for those low notes. Kudos Geoff... haven't been keeping up with your videos much lately, but am headed back now. Love Voice play and Geoff's solos (?) are incredible. Love your reactions DJ...keep on pausing... that's why I'm watching reactions. When I want to see the video nonstop, I know where to go.
I had busy day and i missed bothe video drops. But finally watched them. Geoff first and i was floored by his range and knew DJ would melt right at the begining. I was right when watched his. DJ I have to say this, when it come to that wonderful man, you will never stop being stunned by his talents. Geoff is a god of music.
Love your reactions 😂 Jonathan Young and Colm McGuinness did an epic metal version of this song last year and Misty Mountains with Peyton Parrish. The 3 of them together will melt your brain. Tim Foust also did Misty Mountains with Peter Hollens. Peter has loads of LOtR/Hobbit video's on his channel
4:27 "Is this whole thing just going to be Geoff doing ultimate bass?" Ooooh just wait. I was so happy to actually see the premiere of this. 8:57 "You need to stop Geoff-ing so much!" Oooh I am going to use that one. So accurate. I had to pause and laugh. Oooh, and you're so right about Tenor Geoff looking like Fandral. I knew he was familiar from somewhere.
So I'm very late the party, as per usual, and i was GOING to comment with something nerdtastic about either narrative brilliance or vocal something-or-other, but i just laughed so hard at the "taking off the bra trick" analogy that i have COMPLETELY forgotten what i was going to say. Well done, sir. 😂😂😂 P.S. The level-up to that trick is when you learn to do it with long sleeves. And god-tier is being able to do it under MULTIPLE LAYERS of long sleeves 😆

We’re begging for the trilogy of songs for the Hobbit with The Long Goodbye. So sweet! For VoicePlay’s next one you need to install seat belts and get a crash helmet. I would LOVE to see you do a reaction to it with Kazandra. That would be epic. And that panty/bra comment had me laughing my butt off.
Anyone else feel like this could be used as a requiem for the poor soldiers and civillians in the tragic Ukranian conflict? The lyrics somehow speak to me on this ... don't know why. Geoff's version makes me sob.... 😟😥😢
Hope you had a good sleep and have now recovered some composure after that! 😉Have to be honest, though, it is fun seeing you fall apart when you react, especially over Geoff and Jonathan. 😂 I'm not a fan of Ed Sheeran and, even though he wrote this song, I don't like his version. There are so many versions out there now and I've got so used to hearing a much faster, metal version that to hear Geoff bringing it back down was a bit of a shock to my system! Having said that, this has now become joint fave with that metal version! I don't know whether better production techniques or something are being used these days but his voice, throughout his range, sounded so much stronger to me. Each release from him and VP now seems to top the last and all their voices seem somehow to be sounding stronger - and I'm loving it!!
The fun part of this among many is the fact that Geoff’s high is Sheeran’s low. 😂
Geoff was certainly Geoffing pretty hard in a few spots there. Some of the Geoffier Geoffings that have recently been Geoffed.
His tenor in this is so sweet and clear. I can't handle how well developed his four voice are...Geoff is a musical beast. Dragons beware.
The explosive "piss off" perfectly captures how something can be so good you get offended by it's amazingness!
Oh, I'm laughing with tears in my eyes when you stopped the video and said "Piss off"
”You need to stop Geoffing so much!” 🤣🤣🤣
Beautiful rendition of this song!!
When you practically yelled "piss off" I lost it

Bet we’ll get some “SIR!!!!”s in this one. It’s truly spectacular.
I'm pretty sure the "SIR!!!" Will start from second 2 and then continue until 10 min after the song ends😂
For 'sir'tain we will!
he got you so broken you started talking about women’s bras! 😂 ❤🏴

Did you just tell Geoff to "piss off"?!!!😂😂😂
Did you notice when Geoff hits those super low notes, the auto captions don’t even recognize those lyrics as words
