My top 3 wants for the show........ 1a - Kickstart Kenny 1b - Eli 1c - JS7 (only reason I have James 3rd is bc he has a pod and we get to hear from him more often. Eli is like a specs ops ghost lol, he would be a phenomenal get! Love the show Jase! ✌️
Let the man speak pls, as a fan of you and RV especially, I'd like to hear more of what he has to say. Lots of interpretating and speaking your thoughts, some of it is great I'd just like to hear more of your guest. Just some constructive criticism and opinion of a fan, keep doing what you're doing though brother and I love when you're in the press conference 🙏
As a dungey fan I was happy when he left lmao I’ll back dungey no matter what but villopoto was his kryptonit. I hated villopoto for that reason but now that I’m older and time has passed I can say I miss watching villopoto rip and I’m glad I got to watch him become the legend that he is. If you put Ryan vs Jett my money is on Ryan all day long that guy in my opinion was the only one to match James Stewart as far as raw speed goes but didn’t crash as much as Stewart. Man I miss being a teenager back in the early to mid 2010’s and watching these guys ride.
Up until Jett came around, i would die on the hill that RV on his best day beats anyone else on their best day in the sports history. Seeing him ride in person was... Surreal. Even when JS and RD were on the same track at the same time, there was just an intensity there no one else at the time had.
Never have I loved a rider or athlete like Villopoto. Such an inspiration. When he retired I was so shocked and sad. My all time fav (with Kenny) This podcast was awesome
Killed it dude. I wish you would have brought up him smoking everyone on a 250f at the mxdn! That is such an iconic race I think people forget how good he actually was.
Thank you Jase for this interview with RV. Great to hear his perspective on his era and the current Motocross / supercross era. Your interviewing skills are top notch Jase, you have a great knowledge base of the sport which allows you to ask the right questions in a way that does not put your guests in a position where they don't want to give you honest answers. Keep up the great work Jase. Cheers from Mike in Melbourne
Yesss the most underrated superstar of all time in my opinion, this is gunna be good , man I wish he woulda switched teams good chance he would won 6 in a row dung could neve3 beat him 1 on 1 , I think this guy training goin hard would still be on the podium today he is only 2 years older then Kenny and barcia maybe maybe he could do it
Yes he was, he was racing against guys that not only could, but did blow some of our current top guys away. He would have perfect seasons against today's field. Look at the lap times from 2013 outdoors and 2023 outdoors. He was eleven seconds a lap faster then Jet, on a bike ten years older...
@mrpotatoheadracing you can not compare lap times from different seasons even at the same track. They're constantly changing layouts and obstacles. Hell the lap times at a track can be a couple seconds different a few weeks apart just based on how the lines develop. RV2 was great. One of the all times. He wouldn't be dominant in this era. Dungey was pretty damn close to him for most his career. He got smoked by the modern riders. Absolutely love Ryan but the new generation is always better than the old.
@seanhaberman Most outdoor tracks don't change much, sometimes not at all. How long have we gad Laraco's leap, and now the Chadapult? Dungey was off the bike for five years, way beyond hisnprime, and he was leading laps and getting top five, maybe even a podium? And Villipoto smoked Dungey back in the day. A Dungey in his prime would be battling up front while an RV would've been battling lappers. RV had a 6 year career in the premier class, and won the title for every series he completed in that class, no one has ever done that I can remember... Supercross tracks however, never the same...
1. Carmichael 2. Mcgrath 3. Villopoto 4. Tomac 5. Stewart People need to respect RV more, what he did in the 2010s was unreal, if he would've continued racing he might be even higher up in that list.
In my opinion villo is the most underrated super star in the sports history dungey striahht up never beat him when healtht but Gotta remember how many championships stewart threw away trying to win every race by 2 minutes if he managed and played the long game he would have at least 3 more
@@CR250rSMITH Both imo when I think of US Motocross these 5 are the ones that stand out the most, because of their speed, championships, durability, and influence in general in the sport.
some heavy hitters on that list , i got villo at number 1 speed wise , Carmichael once said he would have struggled against villo , dude was an absolute savage on a dirt bike
18:53 this is true about what you said about this style staying with Kawi. 2016 was rough for Eli coming to Kawi because they were trying to get him to use Villo's setup cause this is what worked for them in the past so much. It wasn't until 2017 Supercross until they finally gave him what he wanted and got him comfortable.
And once again Gypsy takes way too much time talking about himself and his own opinions. I didn’t learn a damn thing new about RV during this podcast. If you listen to Rogan, he talks about 15-20% of the pod and gives his guest allll the time in the world to speak without cutting them off. Quit asking a question and immediately answer your own question before the guest even has a chance to speak. I wanted more RV and his story, not yours.
Loved the show! Long Overdue to get RV on. Personally was hoping more details or stories from his experiences over in MXGP before the injury. Still my favorite rider as a fellow Washingtonian.
Its so odd about heroes. All my heroes came after I raced kind of. Growing up 76 to say 90 amateur racing, Supercross was kind of new or not a thing yet. So I loved like Fl armature tracks kind of becoming SX-like when Pros were first hitting them in stadiums too. But I knew nothing of riders much. But after!!!! I was like the fan,,, and RC catching MC was kind of the start of it. And then seeing young James hit up a local track in mid-Fl was a, "OK this kid is freak, we got to see how this kid does versus the other guys, etc etc." Became a fan of his and that era way after mid-age even.. But in our day, no UA-cam or not many VHS tapes, no fav pro guy, we did not even have that as we rode early on...
Side note, amateurs or riding in the 80s was no phones no Instagram no online, rarely a camera. And we did lots of weird nutty stuff like jumping in pools from motels, lol. Just cause not for cameras like KC..... No Instagram no stories for FB., cause that's who we were?
one of the fastest dirbike riders ever! i am glad i got to witness his career!,i think he should be mentioned alot more during current races,he was such a badass,as all of his competitors at that time, those were some very fun years of racing for the fans!
yess!!! so glad to finally have this episode. RV is my favorite rider all time and I feel like he doesn't get the recognition that he should for how incredible great he was and for all of his insane accomplishments throughout his career
Awesome chat bro. I would have love to hear about the mini bike battles (60/80s) between him and Josh hill at the local Washington tracks. I think if would be cool for you to have something where fans can summit questions they want to ask your guest. It could give you some good questions. Anyways great interview bro. I already want part two
2:30 Jase, this hit so hard for me. I’m 26 years old and I have lived my teenage and early 20s the exact same way with this anxiety and not wanting to live the way so many people do and prioritizing other things to a detriment unfortunately. And now I’m starting to try to play catch-up and build somewhat of a career and be able to get benefits and retirement and just still struggle working for anyone. I feel like I’ve wasted so many good opportunities and now I’m not gonna have anymore worth going for and it’s scary as fuck dude being a young man in todays age is so stressful people don’t realize even living in America with some of the best opportunities and living conditions in the world it’s still a mental and even physical battle. Some of your interviews where you open up and share your feelings and how you’ve struggled sometimes always just makes me emotional at night because I relate quite often. I’m from Ohio and my dream is to go to Arizona or California with a van, some bikes, and my girlfriend and somehow fund that. I would love to meet you someday man i dont know how many races your going to in the Us or how like You’ll be here but maybe I will see you around, I’m not sure how much fan interaction you have at races you go to but it would Be cool.
Jase, I was one of the commenters after the Chad Reed interview, I was not a fan. However you kept getting top notch guests so I came back. You're interviewing has improved and now I am a fan. Keep up the hard work!
I know this a podcast and it's supposed to be "professionally" done, but sometimes we gotta remember that Jase is a mega fan of moto just like us..... I mean dude if I sat down with Reed, JS7, RC, or The 👑 I dunno if I could fo anything other than just look at them and smile like a creepy moron for a min or 2 🤣🤣 Those dudes were f*cking cooler than Batman when I was a kid/teenager lol. Plus Jase gets the best guests and crushes it 99 times out of 100
Let people talk!!!!!!!!!!! You had him wound up and about to say some cool shit and you just cut him off! So annoying!!!! I get it you are probably just as big of a fan as I am but damn! Love your stuff too btw 👊
I admit that it happens more than I would like man, but we are just too mates having a conversation. I do my best, but sometimes I don't do a good enough job.
@@gypsytalespodcast9369 I do have to say this is my first time ever commenting on anything I get riled up about Ryan Villopoto. I spent my childhood clinging to the very few words he ever spoke. I think if his heart was still there he could be right in the thick of things today and prbably had a championship in the last say 2outta 5 years if healthy at minimum.. Well on the retirement subject i think well guys like villapotto carmichael and stuart are still young they should have a legend race or small series every year i imagine that race would bring massive crowds and tv audiences and bring lots more koney to the sport especially if they rode 2 smokes hahahah but now im probably dreaming
Villopoto was the man, no other rider rode like Ryan, he rode that bike like he was angry, absolutely loved his style. I wish he coulda finished MXGP. That battle he and Cairolli had in Argentina was beautiful.

What would it take to dub in some old clips of these guys rippin? Love the podcast. But I would love to be seeing some old clips of RV destroying sprinkled in here 🔥🔥
RV is a cool dude and was a true bad arse on a dirt bike , probably still is. Cool interview and I'm a huge fan of title 24 as well. Love our sport , tuning in from Aus.🇦🇺🇦🇺👍👍
Thank you, Jase & RV. You covered so many great topics and answered so many of my burning questions. There is nothing better than watching RV on a 250f. Much love and respect to both of you!
But he now is with Yamaha tho which is weird. Stayed loyal his whole career to Kawi just to retire and promote Yamaha. Kawi couldnt pay him to support them? Its just weird
Great show! Hearing RV talked about how he didn’t ride for two years after he retired and that defined the “character “ he was to me. I feel bad for him that going to a track became tough, just doing laps. I’m 48 and appreciate experiencing new life moments - I grew up on the track simply different from RV. I love going , I miss it when I haven’t been to one or have not rode. I feel like the sport wore him down. If that’s the case, I’m sorry for my champ
I still to this day think villiopoto was the fastest man on the planet . Absolutely no doubt , that dude ripped a 450 so hard it was ridiculous.. and the 450s back then where absolutely ridiculous they have tuned them down a bit since then
Another great show Jase. So good to hear RV talking openly about his career and with the benefit of time for him to appreciate what he achieved. To me it didn't seem like he was enjoying his career when he was at his peak. I'm listening to you from NZ so it's also great to hear you're heading this way
Winning 4x Premiere class titles is crazy impressive...... but winning 4x in a row?!?! That's just f*cking INSANE! Even RC with his 137,000 MX/SX titles didnt go 4 in a row 😂, RV and The 👑 only ones to do it! Respect champ ✌️
I will never forget being at his debut race at Broome Tioga and turning to my dad and saying yeah he's gonna be a multi-champ someday. You could just tell he had more tenacity than anyone else on the track from the very start. I love these nostalgic episodes.
man I can relate to the "could have's" "should have's" and the "how come I didn't" etc.......I love these podcasts, so little about moto, but so much about life.
I hope you guys enjoy this episode with one of the best to ever do it! You can also find full episodes of the podcast on Spotify: open.spotify.com/show/5Y5TmFUZbgsrYAzzT4MfBP?si=4ee54065cc12445d
Need to make a short I can link about how Ryan talks about local great riders "and they are good" versus the best best is a huge difference. That different levels of good are big leaps,
I'm 33 and I was a chad Reed fan and a dungy fan it's crazy to think vilapodoe is the a og in the sport and a GOAT OF HIS TIME . I remember when his name started popping every week . Your the man Ryan Ps I hated high point to many ups and downs
I am so glad to hear him say. It should have had more fun. I started watching Motorcycle racing regularly when he and Dungey was really going at it. But while I thought they was the best and never looked like they was having any fun. That's way Jason Anderson is my favorite he always seemed to be having fun and being great at racing. 💯✌️🤟🤘
Jace, I love your content man but 2 years of watching videos and studying is not the same as someone whos trained for 10 years in gym. At all. Same as watching youtube for moto. Awesome pod though as always, RV is such a rad dude. Really good interview
At 32.00 minutes in, Jase cuts RV off to brag and remind us all for the millionth time that he trains B-JITSU. Thanks for the reminder Jase , We almost forgot.🫸🤛
After the 2 hour mark in this podcast this show was a ass kissing contest you should have ended it nobody wants to hear about rich people problems when there's kids that will never be able to ride there own bike cuz they can't afford it find something to do to give back to the sport that made you a millionaire
If we're getting to put in requests can we please hear from Garth Milan? Any other photo guys too. Would be cool to hear the stories from that side of the industry, they've seen some crazy shit I'm sure.
Never surprised me that he retired when he did. He just didnt look like he was having fun anymore. Great dude, awesome rider, but if it isnt fun, why continue?

Thank you, Jase & RV. You covered so many great topics and answered so many of my burning questions. There is nothing better than watching RV on a 250f. Much love and respect to both of you!
Great interview, hopefully we can talk someday.
Og who stayed tru to a brand!! Who else in the modern age of racing has done so?
his short career was an results of staying tru tho
doesnt seem like he is bothered by that @@CR250rSMITH
But he now is with Yamaha tho which is weird. Stayed loyal his whole career to Kawi just to retire and promote Yamaha. Kawi couldnt pay him to support them? Its just weird
70% Jay speaking
30% Ryan speaking.
As usual.
Banger been waiting
I still to this day think villiopoto was the fastest man on the planet . Absolutely no doubt , that dude ripped a 450 so hard it was ridiculous.. and the 450s back then where absolutely ridiculous they have tuned them down a bit since then
I love the 🐐 but holy fuck what a struggle fest to listen to.
Jace, I hope you shoehorn Ju Jitsu into every episode. It would make me giggle so much 😂
That's why Poto IMO will always be one of the best, he had to beat James, Chad, and Dungey to win his championships.
Redheads actually feel up to 25% more pain there more sensitive to light and physical touch
2011 Unadilla is when the frame change took place and RV started winning both 450 moto’s.
I will never forget being at his debut race at Broome Tioga and turning to my dad and saying yeah he's gonna be a multi-champ someday. You could just tell he had more tenacity than anyone else on the track from the very start. I love these nostalgic episodes.
Not very often i see someone comment about my local track. It's a shame what its turned into
It was there and Budds Creek every year.
man I can relate to the "could have's" "should have's" and the "how come I didn't" etc.......I love these podcasts, so little about moto, but so much about life.
RV keeps it 100% love it!!
Host talks more than RV
I hope you guys enjoy this episode with one of the best to ever do it! You can also find full episodes of the podcast on Spotify: open.spotify.com/show/5Y5TmFUZbgsrYAzzT4MfBP?si=4ee54065cc12445d
Need to make a short I can link about how Ryan talks about local great riders "and they are good" versus the best best is a huge difference. That different levels of good are big leaps,
2014 BARtoBAR was the toughest level of comp ever & RV came out on top..RV JS7 CR22 RD5 KR94 all won races & I forget who else
I'm 33 and I was a chad Reed fan and a dungy fan it's crazy to think vilapodoe is the a og in the sport and a GOAT OF HIS TIME . I remember when his name started popping every week .
Your the man Ryan
Ps I hated high point to many ups and downs
Speed was old school channel 150
After the 2 hour mark in this podcast this show was a ass kissing contest you should have ended it nobody wants to hear about rich people problems when there's kids that will never be able to ride there own bike cuz they can't afford it find something to do to give back to the sport that made you a millionaire
I hated this man so much lol. As a JS7 fan it was a tough era to watch. Respect the shit out of him though
If we're getting to put in requests can we please hear from Garth Milan? Any other photo guys too. Would be cool to hear the stories from that side of the industry, they've seen some crazy shit I'm sure.
Please do stew next
Bro......Did you say you can get good at golf if you watch youtube???? Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa...............NO YOU CANNOT!!!!!
Never surprised me that he retired when he did. He just didnt look like he was having fun anymore. Great dude, awesome rider, but if it isnt fun, why continue?
Absolutely loved this. Can't wait till you guys come and check out NZ. Any chance there will be a meet and greet with you guys while you're in NZ?
IS HE STONED??
it sure looks so.
Nah, he's just a ginger 😂😂😂
@@InspectorButters4 😂😂😂😂
Just let RV talk 🙈
I'd like to find an RV interview where the interviewer isn't always jumping in to finish RVs sentences...jesus christ.
Ryan still looks up to the truck driver. This guy listens to his elders. Shows what type of guy he is. Wish we jad more years of him
Max Anstie has the points lead on a privateer bike.. we def have parody in bike quality, just nothing life f1
Hey jase, Ryan villopoto coming to New Zealand ?? I’m a kiwi, big fan, when and where hahah??
I was at moto de nations at budds creek. This dude went in the open class on a 250 and murdered everyone. Like it wasn't even a race.
Danny Magoo Chandler was a Ginger🏴☠️🏁 He Was the ORIGINAL BADDASS CHAMPION.
