I was so happy to see Twitch back on the show and RV as the guest, its a nice changeup and surprise! Big shoutout to RVs dad, much resepct to that man! Not only did he raise a back to back to back to back (that's 4x in a row) 450 SX champ, but a multi time MX champ and legit legend of moto. Great ep fellas ✌️
RV is an absolute legend, one of the greatest ever. The numbers alone prove that. Gotta say, I love the “new” open, up front version, his knowledge and insight are fantastic listening!
Two of my favorite riders of all time. Love to see you both still involved and having fun. I hated to see RV retire before he shut up the haters. I retired early also, and I can relate to what Ryan is going through. I think Villopoto is as important to the sport as JM or RC. I rank him top three, but think he could have been #1 if he raced 5 to 10 more seasons.
All that to say, you did the right thing in retiring. Life is short, and you seem so much happier now. Besides, a true race fan knows how great of a racer you were on the track.

I think Ryan looked at the sport, knowing that he was absolutely leaps and bounds better than everybody and anytime somebody would knock at his door he would have this look like, “do you really want to square up with that version of RV2?” 😂 I had a chance to meet Ryan at the Viking festival in Poulsbo 2017 I think. I was nervous as heck trying to come up with conversation points talking to him. Not that he was rude, that was right when he launched his new business venture out in Kitsap County. So he was chilling, and probably a strange time for someone like him to just turn all the lights off in the middle of the of his greatness. When you can put out into the world, what you have to offer through your own passion in the world responds the way it responded to Ryan is tough to let go of. I’d compare it to withdrawals. Same thing when a soldier goes to war and gets in a gunfight, and then they stop doing that. Their minds say let’s do more of it but the body is like how 🤷♂️ Natural dopamine rush, there’s nothing better.

Best thing to do is look into the sport of motocross. It’s really big in Europe and the US. It’s been one of the motosports that has continued to grow year after year plus its super fun to do and available to do it just about any country. Try it once or twice just to see what it’s like definitely a thrill and fun to do.
Twitch lost me when he, as a 40 year old grown ass man, started putting weed on his merch. I'm sure most of his fans are in their 40's too. I would think they outgrew that.
