I loved this video! Me and my boyfriend are planning to move to Hawaii as soon as we finish university, in about 3 years and we’re saving and planning everything, I can’t wait! ❤️ keep showing the Hawaii lifestyle, culture and everything you can
I find it funny how hard people in Hawaii scour the internet looking to deter people from coming to Hawaii. You're living there for $900/mo, which is way less than half of what it costed me to live in Los Angeles. Hawaii seems like a great place to live, as long as you have a stable income -- just like anywhere else.
$900 lmfao where were you living??? Mines $1250 small ass ghetto apartment. It’s the most expensive state. She said it small island - lots of people. Hawaiians end up homeless or moving to mainland - that’s fcked up!!!
@@orianabrostek Right now there are 10 places on Zillow for $1k or below. I'd say 3 or maybe 4 look ghetto, the other half look nice. I guess you just have to check around.
@@vela-6 and then when you go to look at the rental it’s very small and doesn’t look like the pics. And then they tell you there’s extra fees that they didn’t mention in the description - yea yea I’ve went through the renting process multiple times and apartments are usually not what they seem. Almost got scammed twice as well.
I love that everyone here wants to live in hawaii but please keep in mind to learn the history of hawaii first and to please protect the wildlife and everything in hawaii, even using sunblocks from outside of hawaii can hurt coral in the ocean and kill them so please be careful
I’m so excited to move here soon! Planning and just started a new account dedicated to only savings for Hawaii, I will find the place where I’m happiest.
I’m thinking of moving as well. I live in San Diego but for the last 8 years it has been draining me mentally and physically and I can’t take it anymore
Great video and info. When I moved to Oahu, my first job was in a Waikiki tourist trap stocking shelves. A nice Chinese lady was kind enough to hire me. Got the job through an employment company, which took a chunk of my first few paychecks. While I was looking, one local shop owner actually told me "We don't hire haoles from the mainland." Be prepared for that and keep trying. I finally got a job at a shipyard, making good money. Then I quickly had to learn pidgin! Real fun kine stuff, dat.
I wanna be a pro surfer i am 12 and i enter competitions so when i am older because pipeline is one of the most dangerous reef brake i wanna move from England to hawaii
This video was made on Maui a few weeks ago, but the situation is the same on Oahu. Until the thousands of long term local residents who are relying on charity for food can get back to work, no business is likely to be hiring people who just arrived in Hawaii. Food Lines on Maui, Hawaii ua-cam.com/video/LOtT1J11Zjc/v-deo.html
It is not an option for me, just a suggestion overall. The north shore is the country so there arent many options which is why its typically a short term place to live for many. I got a degree in marketing and have worked in the field personally.
She will be home on the mainland by Christmas. The economy of Hawaii is almost entirely dependent on tourism. With the pandemic currently getting worse, rather than better, there are tens of thousands of unemployed Hawaii residents right now. The way things operate in Hawaii, you pretty much need to know someone to get a job. Family or friends who can hire you or recommend you to a local company are essential. Until the unemployment rate among native born Hawaiians or people who have lived there for several years comes down, they won’t be hiring any new arrivals. Many long term Hawaii residents are moving to the mainland already in n search of jobs. This is probably the worst time in history for a new arrival to find any sort of job in Hawaii.
Yeah, I was like 8K for a STUDIO! But I figured it out pretty quick. She just misspoke. Anyway, I pay 900 a month here in Philadelphia. It sounds doable.
Please no more “HOW TO MOVE TO HAWAII” videos 😭 we don’t need more people. I’m so upset by how many there are on UA-cam. Hawaii doesn’t need anymore development 😭😭😭
@@brajieajohnson1411 well I’m grateful for being able to grow up in Hawaii and have family here, but I’ve never lived anywhere else so I can’t compare it to another place. I will tell you everything is expensive and many times me n my bf always have one problem after the next. If something breaks or one of our pets get sick, we gotta really think it through because services here can be sketchy and if they screw you over you’ll end up wasting money.

That is why you would need a job lined up first before moving. Do that and things can fall into place with a lot of determination.
Thanks so much!
planning to move there soon with a family of 5.. how is the schooling in your opinion? thanks.
