Hi dear. 68yo ARMY here. Like another ARMY mentioned when you watch Spring Day you'll also have to watch the explanation video by Italian ARMY. Gosh, I just realized how bossy that sounds and I know we ARMY can be a bit much but we mean well.
Actually, we warn you about Spring Day so that you know not to assume it's a love song--it actually is a song of loss and mourning. Some reactors have made perky reaction comments that they regretted later.
I recommend the explanation of the Sewol Ferry incident by Rotten Mango. Stephanie is Korean American and gives a good explanation.

Helpful hint for the guide: Not sure if you know.... Korean people counted age differently to others...
Korean Age vs International Age - difference is 1-2 years depending on if their birthday has been.... In most older videos, including this guide, they are giving Korean ages so you will need to adjust.
The members were only 13-18 years old when they joined BTS and 15-20 yo when they debuted.
In Korea when you are born you are considered 1 year old. Then on lunar newyear every year you add another year to your age, no matter what your birthdate is. ....

Jin 1992 - 20 yo
Suga 1993- 20 yo Suga started with MIDI at 11
JHope 1994 - 19 yo JHope started dancing at 8
RM 1994 - 18 yo RM started rapping at 11 and was well known in the underground scene at 13

Rule of thumb - if it's before their birthday - subtract 2 years to get international age. if it's after their birthday - subtract 1 year to get their international age.
The Korean Government has recently (June28 last year) brought in international age as the standard in Korea, but all older videos/ interviews/ shows, like Taylor's guide, will be referencing Korean age.

I’m not sure if anyone else has mentioned this but I highly recommend watching Italian Army’s explanation after watching the Spring Day MV. It’s a little fast paced but you can always change the speed to -0.75. 😊💜

I found them around the time the last of my kids moved out ( I have six children) between BTS and the love and support I found in ARMY it was much easier to handle. For some Army is more family then what I they may have at home. I have actually help a lot of new Army be it just listening to problems, self esteem issues, or even homework. Just a tip for reacting to their songs, you would enjoy more if you react to the songs or MV and then watch the live performance of the song. BTS live sounds so much better than the studio version.
