"A record from 1997 by me and Phil Smith aka Jack Shit. The album deal was going down with Dave Robinson, then managing Acid Jazz for Mr Pillar, but the £10,000 in a suitcase / master tape exchange to be handed over in the bushes in Hoxton Square with the industrial spy photographer hiding behind a tree never materialized. Titled the Self Fulfilling Prophecy, it awaits release yet. Meanwhile Eddie Djender, the man who broke Asian Dub Foundation in France got on his motorcycle and signed us up for a swift French 12" release and a few gigs where we chopped up steak tartare on stage with hot knives and clinked be-parsleyed wine glasses as we slobbered and slurped our way through our live audio visual set in Lille. Supermarket sweep, we called those trips, filling up a rented Espace with friends and returning having spent the loot on trolleys of wine, chicken gizzards and snails. Then there was the Jack Shit show in interFACE Pirate Radio, the first and finest internet pirate radio station. A drum & bass comedy show with recipe of the week, the latest 12's picked up from Moving Shadow on the way in, mixed with The Peanut Vendor and German Oompah on the way out. Those were the daze. Oh yeah, cover art by Jake and Dinos Chapman."
