As a whole music genre intelligent and liquid DNB from the 90s has just aged so good! Like where these artists even making music for the time, or did the plan on it not really hitting home until 30 years later? Was it the playstation 1 era that burned amen breaks into our brains as children and now were all hunting for a nostalgic hit of our childhood? Has the formula been lost to time? I don't have the answers I'm just here for deep cuts.
I got a 24" Yamaha mounted in the cement floor of a Jungle room off the end of the house. The seismologists for 500 miles are groovin to these beats on sheets.
I need more songs like this, the whole compilation was spectacular. It's rare to come across an entire compilation where 99 percent of the songs are extremely good. I have been coming back to this over and over when my mood drops and I am reminded how extraordinary we had in the 90s. DNB don't even sound like this anymore. Because all of these songs are from the 90s. I looked them up and said "No wonder they sound so damn good!" I never could get into the popular Euro Trance stuff like Hideaway or the Real McCoy, this music is much better! I have tried listening to all these songs separately without them being in the mix, and they are much better mixed together. Each time a song transition into another it blends so well and sounds like one entire song.
I first came in to contact with drum and bass with this kind of late 90s atmospheric stuff. this is what I would describe as drum and bass when someone asks me. great mix

I miss this kind of Jazzy [sexy/atmospheric] DnB. Since a lot of DnB went into the dark(step)/gamer/crossbreed/metal-y territory, between 2006 and 2016, I've lost interest in the genre. It's so nice to go back to these older 90s mixes and listen to the DnB I've grew up with as a child of '91❤

With DnB's newfound popularity youtube has recently reccomended me some truly terrible mixes made by tiktok kiddies that discovered the genre like, yesterday, and think DnB is basically just that one Peshay mix and shitty anime art, glad to see some ppl are still making good mixes!!!!
