    Thanks Vlad. Two questions: does topaz ai require an RTX gpu to work? If yes then why not use enscape or, in my case, vray gpu or chaos vantage real-time to use rtx raytracing directly? Or softwares like unreal engine or twinmition or lumion etc. I mean we only need topaz if we don't have an rtx or a really strong gpu and we want the quality of cpu based renderers like corona vray or thea only then will we require this right? Because with an rtx gpu one can use gpu rendering directly too for achieving high quality renders that are fast and real-time. Second question, why use freddo animator for camera movements alone when we can do that directly in sketchup by making scenes? For object motion yes understandable. Please do respond to clear these confusions I have and by the way love your work. Excellent technique 👍 and great tutorial

      1. Topaz works with rtx and without rtx. Of course you can use other softwares for animations. But this tutorial is mainly for Thea users who use Thea render. Thea render is a CPU and GPU renderer and I use topaz to extend the number of frames. So I render an animation in less time but with the best quality of Thea.
      2. I use fredo animator for more complex movements. In this tutorial I made simple liniar movements that you can do with just setting up scenes in Sketchup but I have so much more control and options with animator. I honestly never use only sketchup scenes for animations.

      @@Modulusrender thanks for the clarification yes that is true I agree. Animator does give a lot of control. I think this topaz ai will produce incredible results with thea or vray animations. Thanks for sharing this info

      @@Modulusrender Thanks for the reply!
      I would love to see your approach in creating a bathroom without any natural light. In particular, I was having today some issues with the Enscape lights. I usually use the tube but it reflects in the mirror and becomes visible in the render. I tried with the plain lights, it works but I don't consider it as the best option, so I am curious what workaround would you recommend.

      @Modulusrender  Рік тому +1

      Ok. I will address this. I have a bathroom ready for my next tutorial but it has natural lighting. But I will talk about how to avoid lights reflecting badly in the mirror.

  • @stevehardie8109

    Curious if there's a similar issue with this workflow, but in Twinmotion they recommend disabling noise reduction during video output as each frame has noise reduction "burnt" into it and they say to only apply a denoiser after the frames are converted to a video file, so just denoise that. In your example you are denoising in Thea (for each frame) as well as in Topaz? Maybe the double denoising works better? or quite possibly the Thea denoising is so much better that there are less artifacts to clean up?
    Thanks Vlad.

    • @Modulusrender
      @Modulusrender  9 місяців тому

      That depends on the amount of noise we are talking about. In Thea or probably other software as well, if you denoise each frame, there will be flickers or splotches in the final output. This happens if there isn't enough light and the denoiser is at maximum strength. I found that for a daylight animation, the denoiser set at 30% doesn't create that effect. And also in topaz, if necessary I will use denoiser because it affects the whole animation, not each frame. In a darker scenario with more noise, I would probably not denoise each frame in Thea, or maybe use less denoising. You need to test and see because each case is different.

    Sorry, one more question. what are the benefits of creating a 10 second timeline in Fredo and then speeding it up say x 5 to get a 2 second clip as opposed to just creating a 2 second clip in Fredo to start with? I can experiment to find out but thought you might have better insight having already done this yourself.

    • @Modulusrender
      @Modulusrender  9 місяців тому

      Usually, If I want a 10 second video, I will speed it up to 5 seconds and then in Topaz I will slow it down to 10 seconds again. The reason I have a 10 second animation in Sketchup is because I want to be precise with the camera movement and I want a preview of the final clip. Sure, you could skip this and do a 5 second clip from the start but if I want to turn the camera, to go up at a certain point or to have the camera turn, I want to do that at the length of the final video instead of doing it at a higher speed.

    hi, Do you know of any incompatibility between Enscape and an RTx 4090 graphics card? I'm so frustrated just got a terrific laptop and I'm experiencing a lot of red flashes bugs when working on Enscape. Any idea what can it be? I have a razer blade 18 2023, and all drivers are up to date. Thanks so much

      The first thing that comes to mind is that version 3.4 and 3.5 have a lot of bugs and issues you wouldn't expect. I suggest you try installing enscape 3.3 and see if you have the same issues.

    Is there a way to get options to stay open or closed in Thea?

    • @Modulusrender

      @@Modulusrender I mean whenever I open the Thea for SketchUp rendering window I want all the drop down options open. I have to open them again and again every time the plugin or program is restarted. If they are open, is there a way to have Thea for SketchUp recognize they were opened and save them open. Or can we get a setting to open all settings by default in the tool panel? One other problem is when rendering with Presto (MC) in SketchUp with edges. The edge colors always switch to gray instead of black. I can change the settings during the render and also save the new style but it doesn't work properly and always goes back to gray. When I change the edge setting to black, the face setting changes to white with hidden line. I guess this is a bug. Any fixes would be great.

    Which one is better thes vs enscape

    • @Modulusrender
      @Modulusrender  7 місяців тому

      The answer you won't like is: it depends :)
      I use enscape during the design process because it's fast and accurate enough for what I need in order to make fast modifications and communicate efficiently with the client.
      I use Thea for marketing images, photorealism, accurate light calculations and quality for still images.
