The police should have been called before speaking to anybody else. Then, when Hank admitted the HOA took it, your lawyer and the HOA's should have talked. If they werent willing to give you cash enough to buy a NEW boat + lawyer fees YOU should have taken them to court.
Perhaps you should help your neighbors take them to court or just dissolve the frigging HOA.

dud why word your comment as if your talking to the OP they don't know their stories are being read on you tube by some lazy content maker and use AI voice.

@@jaynewman6420 just seems pointless to me and AI only became popular for lazy content makers this past year because seems like there was a boom in how many videos I see with people feeding a script to a vice and saying "my jobs done" even though the misspellings and typo's lead to the voice sounding dumb AF.

I would never buy any house where there is an HOA.
You buy your house and HOA tells you exactly what you
can or can't do with your property.
They need to get an honest job and quit looking and
    causing problems.

The entire story is suspect, his boat was stolen, other neighbors has non=authorized work (even property destruction) done, and he settles for a check? Then rewards himself by getting away from an HOA and buys a condo..which is just as bad as an HOA, lmao.

i would have had my lawyer give them 2 choices. A.) write me a check for the full value of a brand new boat, current year, similar or same model. or B.) i file a police report and sue the HOA for the full value of the boat, plus emotional damage and legal fees. and likely have the HOA disbanded. He fucked up lettig them off the hook. should have brought a lawyer with him to advise.

The HOA shouldn't remove personal property from private property not to mention in most states boats have to be registered. I would've been calling the police as it was theft and depending on the value cold make it grand theft

The HOA should pay him back the entire value of the boat and compensate him him to replace the boat with identical or better value.
I wouldn't have "accepted" their payout. Id report it to the police then file a lawsuit for the theft and illegal destruction of property.
Could've easily scored double the value of the boat.

    • @aftersexhighfives
      @aftersexhighfives Рік тому

Boat stands for bust out another thousand. He prolly got more than he could have sold it for and got his revenge. They did him a favor getting rid of the boat. Which they would have had to pay to do.
I suspect the story isn't real. There's boat lock tie downs. They're as secure as most bike locks. It is illogical to not use them. They're not expensive and some boats come with them. Tow locks are a thing too.
Getting it disposed of is not as easy as taking it to the junk yard. The registration would be checked before it was accepted and he would have been called at that time when the junk yard looked up the owner. It would cost them money to have it junked.
      It's overall very logistically illogical.

Should have reported the boat stolen & filed police report. ID HOA leader as prime suspect. He'll roll-over to turn in "construction crew". Demand boat return undamaged or full compensation for the loss / theft. Charge Hank in conspiracy to commit grand theft (watercraft), and state intention of criminal conspiracy angling for jail time. Your revenge is also criminal, unwise and foolish.

Story 1: The first thing he should have done after talking with the guy was get him on tape admitting to removing the boat then file a police report complete with demanding cops arrest him for the theft. Second thing was that instead of caving to the money offer is to demand that the HOA replace the boat with one of equal or greater value complete with all the fees and insurance paid on it equal to the time the boat was missing and remove the guy from the board permanently. If it's not only those fees, but your lawyer fees, AND they will need to leave the board anyways as they can't fulfill their duties while sitting on prison.

Wrestling Karen story: Applebee's are also the place Ricky Bobby and family try to get thrown out of.
Got my first new car back in 88 a Chevy Sprint an absolute POS one model year as Chevy before it got rebranded under GM's Saturn brand. GF stays overnight so following morning head over to local grocery store as I was out of bacon. Early morning so lot is pretty empty but still park way the hell out in the ass end of the lot and go in. Come out and noticed someone has parked next to me out at the far end of the lot despite plenty of other empty spots out there and pop the shotgun side door for GF and go around to the driver's side where I see jackwagon with his also new car parked next to me but whoever was in the shotgun side just flung open his door and creased the driver's side doir to the new car I'd had less than 24 hours. Statute of limitations is long expired but with my car blocking any line of sight I keyed the word a$$hole from rear wheel arch to front wheel arch, top to bottom of the doors right down to the metal and then bracing myself against my car kicked out as hard as I could with both feet caving in the door on that side. I'm sure the jackwagon driving heard the passenger slam the door into my car and probably had a good laugh with his buddy only to find it did have a price

Don't most condos have their own version of an HOA? Trading one demon for another for the worst of both worlds. A condo is like an apartment where you have neighbors on the other side of every wall, floor and ceiling, but you own it (sort of) and have to sell it or rent it out (if allowed) to escape. Great stories, Ripe.

Op fucked up on the first one BIG TIME! I would have filed a police report and reported the property stolen! If Hank was jealous and erroneously stole the boat for his personal benefit or friends if he took it on the water and got stopped by fish and wildlife he would be screwed if the numbers and identifiers matched! I would have then contacted a lawyer ASAP and filed charges of GRAND THEFT against the HOA. Hank would have been charged with criminal tresspass, Grand theft, and the entire HOA would have been investigated for any infraction minor or petty. You then countersue for emotional damages and false sense of security on your own property making him have to pay the listed price for the boat plus security cameras and emotional trauma for having to deal with that awful neighbor! He would be looking at SERIOUS jail time and would have to probably sell his house while you sip martinis on some beach with your new better speed boat with the $$$ you could have raked in from his dumbass! Shame on you OP when in doubt LAWYER UP! Most cases are free consultation and they get paid on a small chunk of your winnings
