After stage 3: "The stages are pretty short" *stage 4 flashbacks* A little info on th8's mechanics: Bigger stage enemies (and bosses) will have big white circles that will kill you if you are unfocused (except if you are Reimu). These circles will shoot bullets, but if you kill the stage enemy that created them, they'll explode and clear bullets and hit enemies close to them. If you get through a boss fast enough (reaching certain Time points) the boss will have a final attack that disables your lives and bombs. If you would die, the attack ends instead and you don't get the bonus. You can get lives by collecting blue points. The collection line exists when a) you have max power, or b) you are focused aka focus for a milisecond when collecting items.
I appreciate all the help with the touhou 8 mechanics! Its crazy how much unique stuff there is in that game, I've gotten paragraphs of comments just helping to go over everything lol. Will be very useful when I eventually get to it.

Now if you were paying attention to the lore of the game, the reason of you trying to stop yuyuko on destroying the cherry blossom tree is because yuyuko is interested on whats the body buried beneath it which was ironically her body. At this part of the vid 18:29 she was successful on destroying the tree and if you look closely at where the attacks are coming from you can see a silhouette of her. Now some lore on why exactly her body is under a cherry blossom tree. Her father has a cherry blossom tree that turned into a youkai that kills people and Yuyuko herself is a existing person that kills any living being (except the ones that are immortal) so Yuyuko killed herself next to the cherry blossom tree that turned into a yokia. Now to explain why Yuyuko is a existing person that kills almost any living being. Her ability is to manipulate death, so basically shes a walking death note.

Oh I thought she killed herself cause she couldn’t take the pressure of her ability anymore. But uhhhh I guess that’s one way to stop a tree... I think? I mean at least she can control her powers now, and ay still being able to eat even when dead is nice so uhhh we take those I guess? Maybe? Who knows lol

Funnily enough, I actually didn't recognize Yukari from the name, I had to google who they were real quick, then I recognized the design. Goes to show that I'm still relatively new to this touhou stuff lol.
I have never seen someone first attempt 1cc a touhou game exempt myself but i have never done it in touhou 7, that could also be because it was the second game that i played but i have first attempted Touhou 4 and 14 because they are also easy games and i was close to do the same with touhou 17 but i died of random bullets a bit too many times. The way you get extra life in this game (and touhou 8) is by taking the blue points. Under “graze” it says “point” and when it is filled up you get an extra life. Fun fact about touhou 7 is that it has 2 Extra stages so if you ever come back to touhou 7 and beat the extra stage then remember that the hell isn't over. and yes 8:49 they are sisters and if you look at the boss name it says “prismriver sisters” also 2:47 it is painful to see that it was 2 big p and you didn't take any of them

If you are intending on playing touhou 8, I will give a description of the characters and mechanics since they are very different from other games. They work in teams with 4 different teams, and one of the two I suggest is Reimu and Yukari since they deal high damage out of focus with a small hitbox and homing shots when out of focus, the non-focus bomb is a high damage dealer and the focus bomb is a large barrier that deals damage to enemies inside and gets rid of bullets. Their familiar(support character that appears in either focus or non-focus) is Ran Yakumo, who spins on enemies while shooting bullets point blank. The only downside is that it has the harder stage 4. The other one I suggest is the scarlet team (Sakuya and Remilia) because they deal high damage with good spread on non-focus, they also gain a bomb if you have less than 2 bombs and you die, the non-focus bomb is a spray of knifes and the focus attack is a sort of geyser of bullets going the sides a forward in large lines. The main pushing point is the fact that they have the easier stage 4. Their familiars are Remilia Scarlet's 4 bats that spawn to the right and left of her and shoot at forward facing enemies. The magic team (Marisa and Alice) aren't very great imo since their ability is to have the point of collection without needing max power, which is useless since you can do the same thing with every other team if you are in focus past the point of collection, Marisa's bomb is the usual master spark and Alice's bomb is a doll sacrifice in the middle of the screen that explodes, they also don't have any familiars. They deal high damage in a sort of beam, but high damage isn't very special in touhou 8. The last team has Yuyuko and Youmu, who are funnily enough the stage 6 and stage 5 bosses in perfect cherry blossom, non-focus works exactly like ReimuC in Subterranean Animism and Yuyuko has crazy spread butterfly shots, I don't remember their bombs very well. Another thing is that this has a sort of faith meter from mountain of faith, except there's a quota per stage and if you fill it for the stage you only spend half an hour in the stage opposed to the normal hour per stage, The hours aren't real hours btw, there' an ingame clock that starts at 12 AM and if it reaches 5 AM its game over, this won't matter too much though since the only way you run out of time before the end of stage 6 is if you use continues, which progress time. And just to let you know, you need to play through the game twice to 1cc it, no matter how well you play.

@@Catapu1t If you want to do the two pcb extra stages, you may want to play through as SakuyaA because she is the strongest playable in the game. The only reason Reimu is decent is due to her extra deathbomb time, But SakuyaA has the most damage per second, a non-focus shot that covers the entire screen at max power and homing focus. She is a lifesaver when it comes to the extra stages. Just remember that stage 4 has different boss attacks.
Have you heard of the pc-98? Its weird because the first 5 Touhou games aren't even on Windows. Anyway I would recommend Touhou 8 because it has nice music and is a good difficulty were it ISNT Touhou 15. It also has some weird tricks. Also the way lives work in this game isn't via points but rather the amount of blue tokens you gather.
Yea I’ve been wondering if I even wanna bother with the pc-98 games, depending on how hard they are to set up and all that. We will see sometime in the future. But yea touhou 8 next sounds good! Great music is all I need for a selling point.
Yea I’ll definitely come back and 1cc it on hard eventually. I do plan on playing thru all the touhou games first tho, so that might be sometime down the line, unless I’m just in the mood like my other hard 1cc’s
