So what happens with your handwritten OneNote notes? Are they cloud synced? Visible on your smartphone? As OCR'ed text, or handwriting? What about Outlook integration, calendar and email, either with a smartphone or PC?
If I were in the market for an e-ink notebook is the Tab Ultra C or the Note Air 3 C the way to go. I'm primarily thinking of handwriting only, as I'm always going to be near a laptop or desktop. OneNote is my weapon of choice since I can sync it across my personal and work devices.
Hi there. Thank you for your review. I know it is a very silly thing, but I installed several apps from playstore, but can't find them to bring them to the home screen. Did you figure out how to do that?
I personally like writing on this device better than the air 2 plus. The screen refresh is much faster and I like the material the screen is made out of better. Solid upgrade.
Thanks for the review, super useful. On the writing experience, many reviews says because of the tech used for this screen there are two downside: no paper like feel writing experience and reflection under light. Not sure who is “right” or “wrong”
@@skaarj26 I would like to know who they are that are saying that. Because honestly. And I am going to get hate mail for this. The only people that seem to put this product down are remarkable users and its because its everything they don't have. Yes the writing surface is not the same as a remarkable and does not have the paper like feel, but if you never had a remarkable, you would know know difference and would be impressed by the e ink feel.
If you use the boox, you can write in the planner, and then on your windows desktop you can convert to text. You can search your handwritten notes on both devices.
How do you get the colors on your device to pop like that. The one reason I’m returning it is because when I try to read comics on it, the colors are so crap. Yours are so vivid.
@@bodendorfer from what you make of it at the moment do you think this could be the ultimate device for your planner system? Also have you had any response from the onenote team on the scaling issue?
@@Chris-uh1qr If you are using onenote and want to use an e-ink device, this is the latest tech that I would recommend. The non color version, Tab Ultra, does a great job as well. If you are looking for more of a computer like experience, then I would consider a traditional tablet. Different devices fit different peoples needs.
I just can't comprehend the calendar part. How does it schedule webex, zoom, ect meetings? How does it alert you when your mind is consumed in programming, and you can't miss that meeting? How can others see your calendar, or make adjustments to it? Reminds me of the digital version of the 90's.
That's the whole idea. It has been proven people who rely on electronic calendars are not planning their own success. They are not digging into their goals and the need for action steps. That meeting you can't miss. Do you know what questions you need to ask and what results need to come from it. How does it align with your big-picture goals? Most people peddle through the day, and a planner changes that.
Not really, because with OneNote the pressure sensitivity is a global setting for the device. You can adjust the refresh rate so it doesn't seem so dramatic.
@@bodendorfer Thank you for your prompt reply. Tab X is the 2023 13.3 flagship model with Android 11. I’m really surprised. Many people are reporting that Onenote is unusable on Boox and your ultra is Android 11 too. I uninstalled and reinstalled it, it is the same. Maybe some settings I tweaked are wrong. I need to understand, this is the most expensive boox and I bought it for win365 apps. Word is working fine. Hopefully someone could help here because Boox support is really bad.
@@bodendorfer I did indeed. Wasn't much of a review of OneNote. Was hoping for what works well and what needs improvement for note taking rather than most of the video using an organizer template. Are there latency issues and is a wifi connection the only way to sync onenote on the boox with your notebook.
So this is a tough question to answer. If you have experience with e ink devices, you would say no to this question. As e ink devices have an entirely different meaning. However if you were to compare this to an tablet like the iPad or Samsung tab then yes their is lag. However that would be like comparing a train to a boat and asking how long can the train stay afloat. Please keep in mind I am not replying to you, but to the general audience with your question.
@@bodendorfer ok thanks...and one request I am in search of best tablet for reading and note taking can you make a video about it, and ya budget is not the issue... thanks if you can...
@@bodendorfer VERY good reply. But to the person posing the question, I would say for writing you could choose a higher speed to quicken the lag issue and then for reading where you do not need to worry about that, then chose a higher definition slower mode to have a crisper image with less ghosting as a problem. I bet most people doing videos chose the slower mode to make the best clear image.
I need to see this. I'm having a problem getting OneNote to work properly.

How about PDF files, open and writing remark on the file? How to transfer PDF file to the device, how to send the file back to the computer?....
With the boox you can connect directly to the device via wifi and transfer files for making annotations.
Does Noteshelf work on onyx color ?
Does it sure does. You can download Noteshelf from the play store.
I broke as hell. If you decide to sell, can you sell it to me ?
Meh you didn't really say anything, everything you did can be done on a phone.

It’s so wonderful to have color!!
It for sure adds another element to being able to write notes.
It is just a tablet...
E-ink is nothing more than a lowtech screen... from the nineties.

How is the launching time of OneNote?
much improved over previous e ink models. I think teh Ultra and Ultra pro line is great.
On the tab X, One Note is full of bugs, it’s terrible. I don’t understand why it works on your ultra C.
I have a pretty good experience with onenote on the Tab Ultra, and with the Air 3C it's nearly prefect. Is the Tab X an older model?

I tried old APKs, one 2019 version seems to work fortunately. You better not update it if it works.
May I ask what bugs did the 2019 version fix? OneNote also has a lot of bugs on my tab mini C @@thomast7748
