Last night might have been the last chance to see a visible lava at the volcano here in Iceland. Even tho we had some problems at the beginning of the stream we where lucky enough to be able to take a last look for now.

That was a beautiful farewell, Isak. The ending with the people silhouetted against the splashing lava was genius. It really choked me up a bit. Time flies when you are having fun. It's been an epic eruption, not least for the fantastic drone footage you streamed live Isak. You showed us things that I certainly haven't witnessed with such clarity before and when the next tourist eruption happens, which it most certainly will, I will be watching your live streams if you choose to do this again. Thank you Isak.
I'm not so sure about the last part. If I'm right and this trend continues in the direction I think it will, the next one might be further up north closer to the Reykjavik side. If so lava could take out the road between the airport and Reykjavik, or flow directly into the capital.
@@sigisoltau6073 There's more than one route south. Iceland exports a lot of fish by air and sea so don't worry about the road between Keflavik and Reykjavik being cut. When suppliy routes are in danger, Iceland's government changes pace fron Glacial to Rapid and stuff gets done. If the Airport road is in real danger of getting cut by lava flows, you can be sure plans are in place to deal with it quickly.
@@jimgraves4197 It's not just the transport routes for export /import. What about tourists? Most tourists coming into Iceland come in via that major airport.
@@sigisoltau6073 Tourists will be fine. Like I said there's more than one route south and maybe Iceland Air or Play will look at the commercial viability of shuttle flights between Keflavik and Reykjavik. Reykjavik airport is still, as far as I am aware, rated to handle jet aircraft. A few months of disruption for an eruption is something Icelanders take in ther stride., but if it isn't possible to land at Reykjavik, Buses will shuttle tourists to their destination. A couple of hours on a Bus around the detour may not be everyone's cup of tea, but with a tour guide pointing out things along the way it can be made interesting.

Thank you so much Isak for allowing me to watch the birth of this new volcano in Iceland. It has been absolutely amazing to see and to share it with you and your drones. The footage has been spectacular and I've loved joining in every day. I will be visiting Iceland in May next year and hope to maybe visit this new part of the landscape, knowing that I watch it from the beginning.

(I can't resist to put it into these words, just look at it... Well, there is some reservoir, it's pushing up with pressure, trying to get through anywhere, it's difficult but finally it breaks through, it flows and flows until there is not enough left and it dries out...)

Thanks for the footage. It seems to me that this eruption never really got going visually. A fair bit of lava but not so much gas to give fountaining. I'm comparing to the previous Icelandic and the La Palma shows, which were truly spectacular.
