I Want To Eat NASI KUKUS Everyday In Malaysia 🇲🇾
Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 жов 2024
- Today we tried Nasi Kukus for the first time in Malaysia and it was seriously good.
We headed to a Nasi Kukus restaurant here in Kuala Terengganu on Malaysia's East Coast and we were the first people there it hadn't even opened yet we were just too keen.
The staff were all super lovely, it's kind of buffet style and I got Nasi Kukus Ayam Berempah so with spiced fried chicken. I did also want to try their tea Ice cream but they didn't have any so we went with a standard foamy tea.
Everything about this dish was incredible. The rich curry's mixed with the fresh steamed rice, the sambals were fiery and full of flavor.
Now the chicken... Malaysian fried chicken for me has to be the best in the world I don't know how they do it... So juicy it's unbelievable.
I want to eat Nasi Kukus everyday it's so delicious 🇲🇾

@@EllisWR hi frend..i like you speaking malay.. amazing
You're humbly use hand when eating in Malaysia as it's cultural things here. huge respect to both of you.🥰
Thanks so much Nadia have an amazing day. 🙏
They're on another level - they pick up languages so fast, most of their continent is interacting with locals, they eat with their hands etc. They're not average Westerners at all.
Not many western people like or can take "sambal belacan", it's an acquired taste. Even some Malaysians can't take it. "Sambal belacan" is a very traditional dish and is always eaten with "ulam" (raw vegetable/salad). Both of you like it, that is amazing.
We're not like other fussy westerners ahah. We eat everything it is delicious! 🇲🇾🙏
Sambal belacan not so much an acquired taste unlike budu. Sambal belacan is just chilli-based gravy with little differences here and there unlike anchovy-based budu which is stinky to many.
I love any sambal but not budu
@@EllisWR lol you eat everything 😂

Terengganu has the best nasi kukus in Malaysia. No doubt about that, bro. I really love how the crispiness chicken is plus the sambal flavour and the whole food aroma is mouth drooling. There are many places in Terengganu for example Kuala Berang that has the best Nasi Kukus and other delicious foods that keep you going more and more. Have a good day!
Thanks yuuta. We love it

I've just subscribed when I watched your video having Nasi Kerabu for breakfast. I'm happy to see both of you are really enjoying the Malaysian food. Take care of your health also. It's easier to gain some weight in Malaysia, but it can be a challenge to bring it down. Have a safe and enjoyable trip.

Malaysians are too humble *hand to heart* "among the best".
They are probably the most humble kind people. We've come across
When i luved in malaysia i used to go idaman, there was a truck with 2 kind of sambals and green chili paste...id eat 3 pieces of chicken at least. This is soooooo good
Sounds like heaven

Aha thanks Firdauss I love the stuff
a basic nasi kukus consists of the steamed rice, cucumber, spiced fried chicken with curry gravy. however you can find nasi kukus restaurants with variety dishes to top up as well. my favourite nasi kukus place is kuala terengganu is 'F1 nasi kukus' in seberang takir.
We will have to try this place thankyou
Good on you for visiting and trying different cuisines in Malaysia with an open mind. A lot of tourists will just try Nasi lemak and call it a day haha. Hope you enjoy the rest of your trip in Malaysia and anywhere else you go
Thanks appreciate it. Yeah everyone makes those same videos for views we actually have a passion for Malay food
I suggest try something different that is native to Terengganu, suggest you guys try Udang/Sotong celup tepung and lekor, these are tempura seafoods and it is very tasty.

Bro... You are actually moulding the rice into a ball n pushing it into yr mouth like a PRO. Most novices would use the fingers like a spoon to scoop in the rice....well done!!! Have a good stay in Malaysia! .
We just watch others and copy! Eat like locals do!!Thanks my friend
"Sila datang lagi" means please come again. Belacan is a shrimp paste, sambal belacan is very popular sambal. When do you shoot this video? It hasn't been raining quite a while in Malaysia, its hot☀️ everday

Yes, nasi kukus is really delicious. Thank u for this wonderful video.
Nasi kukus, translated, is steamed rice. Nasi kukus in Malaysia could refer to steamed rice or d steamed rice set that comes with spicy fried chicken, curry sauce n sambal.
Thanks so much Yasin lots more to come 🇲🇾
@@EllisWR Wonderful. 😀
It's good you can eat spice foods, coz foods in this region like Thai, Malaysia, Indonesia are spicy, but Thai foods is the most spiciest, they uses a lot of birds eye chillies.

Nelang(Cool in brave way) Ellis! There someone called Mat Dan, he's english person if I'm not mistaken. He married a Terengganu girl and living there too, incase you meet him, i hope you could make a tour in Terengganu together because he has been living in Malaysia for a long time now 😄
Hi Ellis. Have a great adventure and explorations in Malaysia. We, all Malaysians, welcome you and your friend to Malaysia. By the way, I have subscribed your channel.
I really appreciate you!
Fyi, Terengganu is also very popular with nasi dagang. Nasi dagang is belong to people of terengganu while nasi kerabu its origin is kelantan. Nasi kukus i think has no origin bcoz when i was small in 80’s, i used to eat in my hometown in muar. But nasi kukus is known as steam rice where it can bring down glucose index GI.
Thanks Baz stay tuned for nasi Dagang 🇲🇾
Our football legend Shebby Singh once played a role at Blackburn Rovers..but now he's gone during covid time 😢 l'm also admire them in 90s which full of talent like Alan Shearer, Tim Sherwood, David Batty..Colin Hendry, Tim Flowers & others... even I'm a United fans who lost to City last night 😊❤🇲🇾
Yes once one of the greatest 🏴
Shebby was a chancer taking money for nothing from naive Indian owners.
sambal belacan was made of shrimp paste mix with chili, lime juice with some sugar. favorite malaysians' apetizer like budu sauce.
It's so good
that milk ice tea looks heavenly
Was well good
Blackburn eh, this bring back my memories of Brad friedel, matt janswn, Damien duff David Dunn.. Oo man love Blackburn back then
Yes the good old days! 🏴
Hats off to you for tolerating the spiciness of sambal belacan. I can't do it. I totally welcomed the rain. Most times, it's just cloudy and super humid. Have you tried Laksam yet? Here's some more useful Malay words/phrases:
1) Sikit-sikit - a little bit : "Saya faham sikit-sikit" (I understand a little bit)
2) Tak (pronounced as "tuck") - don't : "Maaf, saya tak faham" (I'm sorry, don't understand).
3) Bereh boh ("bear-ehh boh") - No problem.
Trengganu "Bereh Boh.." or standard Malay would be "Beres Boss"... literally it means "I've got it, Boss".. colloquially could also be taken as "No problem."
Thanks for all the info! Laksam soon and lots more!
I like Tganu slang
Respect to u for being able to handle the spiciness! Sambal belecan always to the side and not on top of your rice.....different places have different levels of spiciness...just stay safe and put it to the side. I love my spice too and am Asian. But I dun like to ruin my taste of flavours by pouring sambal belecan on my rice directly. Sometimes it can be too sour or too spicy.
Thanks so much David! I think we always gotta taste it first because for us sometimes can be too salty! The spicier the better for me but I can't handle too much salt!
Wow- for a UK lad used to fish & chips back home, you take the spicy nasi kukus like duck to a water!
Ahaha I love spicy food very much
If you want to know more about Terengganu, you should call up Mat Dan. English man that live in Terengganu
Good idea
Yeah, if you just typed Mat Dan in UA-cam, you'll see him. He's been here long enough to get well known by most locals, from his videos.
Hi guys.. I miss out this video... I watched your video had mee curry at China town, kuala Terengganu.... Oh what a lovely exploration. You already had my hometown cuisines, but I never been to this nasi kukus restaurant. Btw, Terengganu where originally I come from hopefully one day you will coming back to malaysia and Terengganu specifically.

They were pulling your leg about the Zimbabwe statement ... He said "datang lagi" means "Come again" after you said "Thank You ... Sangat Sedap"
Ahah yeah pranksters
10:55 u can see so many influences in one dish in malaysia..u have curry from india or middle east..the sambal belacan from thailand..spiced fried chicken from india..that makes malaysian food unique
Hold up.. if i not mistaken belacan is believe originated from Malacca (Melaka) so basically the sambal belacan are from Malaysia. They called belacan in those time as "Malacca cheese"
@@oscartangoromeo003 melaka was a cultural hub infact the whole malay peninsula was the centre of international trade in the yesteryear.. u should know thailand also have shrimp paste and fermented fish by products like fish sauce..so its defintely influenced by much older civilization either chinese or siamese..original ppl in malaysia are the orang asli who definitely dont have anything to do with belacan
@@irishque Orang Asli is just one ethnic group in the whole wide Malay world.. the Malay Archipelago. The orang Asli of current are just those who wishes to stick to old way of living. They are thousands of Orang Asli already assimilated in the modern Malay world.
Food in this part of the world is already a fusion of spices since God knows when. To say one thing belongs to a specific nation can no longer be defended historically. They are Malays in Thailand, Malays in the Philippines even Malays in Africa as diverse as the Chinese in all over the world and Indians too. We, who are born yesterday should not be too rigid of what has been entangled in the yesteryears.
@@zaharizak why not? U said it urself its a mix of everything but u can distinguished each one's origin, who said origin of a thing was created there anyway, of course evrything is influenced by different cultures if u want to show u knoe more u totally failed
