Mold has been a problem for a long time, causes serious serious health issues that are never connected. I talk to doctors in our town about it and they will say "wow, sounds like some of my patients" and that's about it. Medicine is not interested in why, but I was in public health and we care. Then info gets suppressed.

About a year ago I read a paper regarding the measures necessary for preventing the spread or contamination of White Nose Syndrome for cavers or biologists/virologists, it’s extremely involved, going as far as to wash the under carriage of the vehicle you travel in. Those spores are designed to travel far and wide and require extensive measures and caution when operating in areas where populations of sensitive animals are located.
If such a thing happened to our species, simply wearing a mask in contaminated areas wouldn’t be nearly sufficient to prevent the spread.
