Thanks so much. I took pictures today of large cat tracks in Vermont. Fish & Game has said 'there are no more catamounts here, they've gone extinct.' However, the mountain man I met today on my snowshoe hike says there is a mountain lion around and lynx. So I'm trying to discern the difference!

I didn't know Mountain lions lived in Alaska ? With temps warming up globally I can see them along with Mule deer moving north .

Yo trapper scotty here, I was trapping along the Alaska Yukon border on the snag.river when I snogoed by a set of moose tracks leaving deep ruts in deep fresh snow I ran back to look down in the foot deep tracks and teywere indeed huge cat tracks. That humongous lynx never came back through. Later that winter I talked to a trapper 100 miles north of me said he thought he caught a cougar in a wolf set it through an alaskan nine and escaped. He was telling me this story like he.saw a bigfoot or something, me and my trappin pard looked at each other and said together, the snag river giant lynx. Never crossed my line again. Thought I'd share that with you-all
