I am trying to build a home lab using pfsense as a firewall inside is the windows server with the local network. It seems that pfsense is the DNS and DHCP resolver instead of the windows server. :(
oh shit. It worked. I set a static IP address for the windows server and set the DNS ip address on my windows machine to that static IP address of the windows server. So now they are protected with the firewall!!
