You are better than 99% of the teachers I ever had.
Its the name, Eli is just an easy going name.
@@cpmerchant You have just replied to my comment from 8 years ago. Hello from ghe future!
You are the only teacher i enjoy watching!
I've been working with DNS .. and pretty much everything else .. for decades. This is a very good introduction+. I enjoyed it. Nice job!
I just wanted to pause studying for a minute to tell you "Thank you for providing this Server 2012 course"! I am taking the first exam, this Tuesday, for the 70-410 and your videos have been helping me grasp the details needed to operate Server 2012. I really appreciate your coherence, since my CBT nuggets class has been pounding a 100 details into a condensed 45 minute, per topic, videos. You've really helped me grasp the principles and feel capable of learning the finite details with each topic on my first exam. Thanks a million, Eli!
In Brazil now but has been with you since I started my IT career back in Los Angeles and I must say that I love the simplicity of your explanations. You became the "way to go" whenever I need someone else to understand something IT related. Thanks a whole.
Just wanted to say yours are my favorite classes. Enjoy them very much. Thank you.
Don't worry about that the "experts" are going to say, you made it very clear that this is an "introduction" for us beginners, and it was a totally perfect and absolutely understandable introduction to DNS. This is the first time I try to learn the basics of DNS and I this is exactly what I was looking for, no need to look any further for what I was trying to accomplish a big THANK YOU!!!.
Eli,Thanks for the Intro classes. I'm getting started learning to configure servers and may be starting a new job that requires some basic knowledge with Server 2012. I bought my first book MCSA 70-410 by Don Poulton and is very deep. So I really appreciate the approach you have in taking nothing for granted to help start with a firm foundation in which to build upon. Thanks!
Eli, I also have learnt so much from you. I really wish you the best blessings the world can give.
As a new IT guy who recently crossed over from Telecom, I have been watching your videos to get familiar with the various technologies, lingo, etc. Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge in a way I can easily comprehend and retain!
Thank you Eli! I am grateful for your videos. Some of us techs work on the simpler side of things. Most of my small business clients don't use servers. As such, my knowledge on some topics is sometimes a bit limited, or forgotten. Simple videos like this are terrifically helpful.
Eli, I have never ever seen in my life like you who teaches others in a very clear and understandable manner whatever he has. God bless you and your family abundantly.
You are the best Eli I like the way you teach you say the same thing atleast twice so that people understand.
Great video! In Windows Server 2019 you can view Global DNS logs via Event Viewer > Applications and Services Logs > DNS Server
You are a very skilled teacher, I learnt more through your videos than I did from any instructor I've every had.
Thank you sooooo much for doing this. :)
thank you i have learn many many things from the ELI , i wish you long live and success in your life
Eli, you made my IT Administration. Don't know how to thank you enough. Live long and stay healthy.
As an ISS student, I am a big fan of your channel. Really love your way of teaching.
Forget these geeks, ELI your doing a excellent job keep doing your thing... You helping thousands of techs believe me i'am one.
This introduction makes my hype to learn more on your video. You make it clear and slow that any person who will watch the video will learn. Thank you for sharing such knowledge and help others to learn from you.
Your voice soothes my soul like the sound of a gentle waterfall. Every time I start one of your videos and you introduce yourself, I know that everything is going to be alright.
This class is the best, so much better than the book. Thanks Eli for keeping the material simple for beginner like myself.
Man, there's nothing like an Eli class on a Saturday morning enjoying a cold brew.
very professional teacher. clean language and presentation. i understand it clearly even when i play it at 2X speed
I agree with David. All the other teachers on UA-cam I can't even understand. You're great! Thanks Eli :)
These videos are awesome. Very easy to follow and very informational. I'm going through the exams for my MCSE Desktop Infrastructure and this is helping a lot. Thanks!
Eli you the very man, screw those people that say's you are messing up; because of you I now have the understanding and how to do some stuff on Microsoft server 2012. Thank you for this video it helps.
These videos are better than taking a networking course! Thanks for doing these videos Eli, very helpful.
Thanks alot Eli... U teach each n every topic in such an easy way.... I have never enjoyed learning this much..
New to MS server but thank you for explaining plain and simple. A great approach to learning new skills.
Thank you for sharing this clear your knowledge. Your videos are much superior than any other instructor
Great tutorials. I am blessed to have you.
Geepers. Wish I had found Elis series of lectures on Win 2012 , Domain Controllers, and DNS earlier. Good stuff, and yes that external DHCP server was a problem. Thanks.
Awesome. Had a server with the wrong IP address in DNS so ping pointed me to the wrong place. This quickly showed me where to make that change. Thanks!
the word thank you is not enough. may God just bless you abundantly
I enjoyed this class today June 3, 2013 - refreshing my outdated knowledge!
Thanks Eli, your classes are great. Been literally just learning by trial n error in an enterprise environment. Having a lot "ahh that makes sense" moments.
OMG. I've been stumped for a good hour now trying to get a client to resolve a host name but couldn't. Restarted the DNS service (10:57) and BOOM! I'm resolving ipv4 addresses all night long. Thanks a lot.
You are best teacher I ever had. I enjoy to watch your session.
You really understand the concept of teaching. Thanks Eli :)
Yes! Every other tutorial or document talks like I am already supposed to know how everything works. I just need a basic DNS and active directory for testing with a couple VMs and nobody will give a succient 1,2,3,4 etc step tutorial on how to do that.
Another great video, great explanation without all the extra bits that are not necessary at this level.
Who the hell is telling the Great ELI he is messing up. You are sure helping me thank you .
I don't know what I feel. It's annoying when you pronounce words really clear, but it really helps a lot! :S Thanks for the classes :)
40 thumbs down? What is wrong with You people? This is the best tutorial ever.
LOL. Wow man, you are just the best teacher I ever had.
So glad I stumbled across your channel. Keep up the GREAT work, Eli.
Hi Ali the computer guy. This chandra the Indian guy. Love your all the classes🤗🤗
Really good class on the intro to DNS. I have learned quite a bit in a very short time . Thank you
I really love this guy, almost all days i cant wait to go home and seat at my computer to watch his videos, i learned a lot with him already, i really apreciate his effort to teach us, i would pay for sure to be one of his students. Thanks Eli the Computer Guy
simplicity makes it beautiful...nice one Eli...u'r so kind
Eli you are a great teacher. thank you for taking your time to teach us. i love all of your lessons.
One should be required to convey a reason behind down-votes and have them shown in a separate tab. I would love to know why this guy has 17 down-votes when all his information is pertinent and accurate.
I've come to the conclusion inserts these downvotes by themselves. Because they're big CRAP videos like VEVO music videos get downvotes obviously. If millions of small channels would have virtually no downvotes it might look bad for the shareholders who make youtube money.
You are amazing, thank you from the bottom of my heart
Clearly presented and instructive video on Windows servers 👍👏
very good, waiting for my unleashed book to arraive from amazone. Will be here on saturday.. Looking forward to new classes.
Thank you for reaching us.
Great! You explain very clearly and allowed me learning what I could not before.
just start watching your video.
it was really easy to understand and i am able to use it at work too.
thank you.
keep it coming.
Thanks a lot for the video... It's great!
Greetings from Mexico
hello eli look I think your videos are very very important though I think for our convenience is to follow your videos step by step from low to high etc its for you to name them by numbers so we could follow them by order thanks so much and sorry if its hard for you
Hi,
If you follow the playlist "Windows server 2012" it will be in perfect order.
Really good introduction video tutorial for entry level learner, awesome!
If don't have your videos, I cannot learn computer class, thanks many
Thanks Eli for these videos, you actually help me a lot understanding tons of stuff that I'm interesting in.
Once again Thanks for wonderful Videos
Thank you. I learned everything I need, most important how to add the DNS entry. Your videos are on point...
Really good videos i am learning it from his videos. Thank you
Thank you very much,I really enjoyed as well as learned more...
I installed AD back in thius video: 0WyBxwJD_c0
You can have DNS without AD, but not the other way around. BUT Windows DNS can be a pain in the butt if you're using it to administer clients that are not members of the domain...
Eli the Computer Guy is in a car accident
Thanks for sharing your knowledge Eli.
Thanks for this video Eli! Simple yet informative....Thumbs up!
Thanks so much for doing these videos! I need to brush up on some of this stuff and these videos are wonderful!!!
Love you Eli. You've helped people alot :)

Terrific, thank you!
Hi Eli, thank you very much for you classes 😊
I like the colour of your T-shirt, the decoration of the class and your gesture! hahaha...
whats up eli? great job on this Win2012 Server track. i'm not much of a windows guy and it's been a while since i messed with windows domains, AD, and all that. these videos help me refresh my memory pretty good.
anyway, so i want to set up my AD, but i know i need to set up DNS first. just wondering... will you be doing a video to actually set up and configure DNS in Win2012? or do you already have one and i missed it?
Thanks a lot. You are the man!
Great help to learn windows server 2012!!!!!

Port Forwarding is done on the Router, not on the actual computer...
Thanks a lot for your help Eli, love your tuts
Thy for this simple explanation! Greetings from Germany!
Great job sir I would like to get a lecture about forward look up zones and reverse lookup zone and primary and secondary of the same
Thank you so much. You are teaching very very good.
Hi Eli the Computer Guy, I want to say thank you because you have taught me topics, I want to jump into Windows server and you mention DNS is the last component of it. In this case where would be a good topic to start for windows server? Active Directory?
thanks eli......you are the best............
best teacher ever!!!
You are THE BEST !!!!!!!! THE THE THE THE BEST!!!
Great way to explain, Thank you very much!!
Nice and clear videos, thanks bruv for your efforts.
You save my life,
Thanks and pura vida...!
This guy is awesome!
@Eli, Great movies I have to say. I recently made a career move from being a Chef!
I recently passed my microsoft OS exam. Now, I've been busy with Networking, security and server MTA's, just to get my basic information, so I could start with the 70-410-411 & 412 to get my MCSA, Now. I have been doing this now for a few weeks and I find these video's extreemly helpful, since I'm a BIG dyslectic with reading in my own language (Dutch) and also English... anyway! I was wondering since all 70-410-411-412 exams (mcsa) are server 2012 R2, will I be a lot of knowledge short since these video's are server 2012?? Do you have any extra tips to pass these exams?
I study most of the time at home. I do have books and making labs on my laptop with VM's
Once again, Cheers!
as usual, well explained
Eli,
Thanks for the video tutorials. Very helpful and I appreciate it. Question: Would it be better to set up the DNS forwarders that my ISP uses on the Windows Server DNS service or just leave it up to the router when clients need something? I have the primary DNS set to the server itself and the router as the secondary.
So we`re in 2018 now, do we still get a more sophisticated video on how much deeper and further we can go with using DNS?
Yeah, do a search, there are many
