Yes Recurrent infections can cause pelvic inflammatory disease which sometimes cause salpingitis and block fallopian tubes. But it's a rare condition and happen only in complicated cases.

Those are at increased risk for getting it. It is not necessarily mean that every woman that gets it does those type of things. But usually that is what causes it. But usually women that get it.
