When my kids were bullied at school ! I confronted the parents ,as the teachers didn't do anything!!😮
    I'm glad I did what I did!!

Tbh there isn't much the teaching staff can do. Their hands are tied. They can only speak with the parents. Excluding a child is always overturned by the education authorities.

Yep I would do the same, but then I'm from a council estate and violence was an everyday occurrence. So such don't faze me.

I met with the child and the child's mother with my child and explained how the bullying affected my child and his entire family who care and love him. That nipped it in the bud. If it didn't, I would find myself attending school each day and sitting and watching and intervening if anything went in the wrong direction. Absolutely no tolerance for bullies

Unfortunately some children are raised in harsh and hostiles homes and takes it out on their school peers becuase they can't express themselves at home. Agree parents can't allow their children to be at the mercy of the bullies (who are tormented little souls) as children can be quite cruel. I agree with your approach be very vigilant and tackle it head on.

I totally agree with the guy that who are the parents of these bullies. As a parent I’ll be embarrassed to know am rising a bully. Parents need to take more responsibility for what their children are doing.

My mum stormed into my school 20+ years ago & confronted a bully. It wasn’t ideal & she was called into the school to be told she shouldn’t have done that but the school did nothing for years beforehand. Constant excuses. I have a 6month old & I do worry now what life will be like when he goes to school

Parents and teachers HAVE to stand up to bullying. I was bullied for years, one of the boys would even grab my chest -- that's SA! The boys involved should have been expelled! I hated school because no one stood up against bullying. And, yes, I did report it.

i went to a 'good' school. they hid the bullying. i refused to go to school and they brought my mum in and said they refused to do anything about the bullying. this was 10 years ago but its made me homeschool my kids

It's easier to deal with in primary school as the parents are usually there collecting the child. After trying with the school for 3 months, I spoke to the parent. That boy never touched my child again. When another child did it I again spoke to the parent. That boy came to school the next day complaining his dad beat him and wished my son didn't report it.
Reading these comments makes me think I should take my child kickboxing.

20 yrs ago I confronted my child’s bully in the school playground because the school, wouldn’t listen. Turned everything upside down, although I completely understand how it could have become a huge problem for me. Problem solved

I went to four different schools and was bullied and badly beat from age 9-19 and it affected me greatly. I stayed in school only to complete my education. The teachers don’t do anything, even with proof, sometimes the kids won’t listen to their parents. On top of it, I had abusive parents so I can safely say just be there for your kids and understanding

As a mother, and a widow with two daughters of 10 and 12, the biggest mistake I made was to tell my daughters 'if anyone bullies you then go tell a teacher.' What I should have said was 'if anyone hits you then hit them back harder and walk away. I'll deal with any complaints about it.' I was incredibly naive to think that these bullies or their parents could be reasoned with.

I told my son if someone hits him to him them back. School disagree and say he shouldn't retaliate. He's missed breaks and lunches before because he has hit someone back. He will hit them back then tell the teacher they hit me so I hit them back. He gets upset as he gets punished for standing up for himself. I said to my son it doesnt matter if you miss your break time. Its important you stood up for yourself. We have told teachers many times that we tell our son never to hit first but if someone hits you then hit them back.
We do this because we have had a few issues including a child using a bracelet over his knuckles to punch my child in the face and my child got punished because he swung his lunch bag at the kid that was doing this to him then my child told his teacher what happened including that he swung his lunch bag at the other kid.
My son feels he can't tell teachers anything as they don't fix issues and if he stands up for himself he gets punished so it's a lose lose situation

@haileycooper6252 it's heartbreaking to know that your child is being bullied, I know. All I can advise is that you make sure your son has a sound sense of fairness and of what is right or wrong. Make sure he knows that you love and support him and the other child is the one who has a problem, not your son. Give him a strong sense of self worth and validity. Bullies are usually cowards themselves and act out of jealousy or frustration with their own failings or circumstances. Unfortunately, sometimes we just have to accept that some people are just made that way and cannot be reasoned with. My daughters are in their 30s now and I couldn't be more proud of the wonderful people they have become. Your son's time will come too.

@@carolefranks5489i was bullied in secondary school because i was with my best friend Kevin all the time on the playground or in the boys changing room. I'm gay and he's straight but i never told anyone back then because kids can be cruel. My mum had seen bruises on my legs i couldn't tell her what was wrong(with being autistic) so i wrote it down for her she got the bullies expelled

Put kids in martial arts from a very young age (around 3-5ish) before bullying ever becomes an issue, they’ll probably never need to use it. But often physical intimidation is the reason why kids are so hesitant to stand up to verbal intimidation “I better not respond to him/her abusing or bullying me because if she starts on me I’m f*cked“.. etc

I think it has to be something all parents are involved in, whether your child is the bully or the one being bullied. Please raise your children to be as kind as possible. If they do bully someone, don't turn a blind eye, or use the excuse "they're just being kids". Prevent it so it doesn't have to lead to it in the first place

My children “should” have been bullied. What I mean by that is my oldest is a redhead and my youngest is mixed. We were so so blessed that it didn’t happen. And honestly, I think it was because the universe or God or whatever you believe in was watching out for me. No lie, I would be in jail. I would have snatched up the kid, their mom, and their grandmother if I could find her. I have never played when it came to my children. They are grown now thank goodness.

Teachers cant do anything in my eyes. Kids dont really tell u fully whats going and u cannot follow the bullies around 24/7 to stop them. They will do it sneakily. I would pull my kid out of school immediately and never send them back. These bullies are unbelievably ruthless and evil. And if the trauma gets bad enough they will live with it their whole lives! Pull them out of school before the bullying goes to next step and the trauma lasts a lifetime. Now they do it online too so kids cant even get away from it at home, id delete all their social media and make all new accounts too!
