An old song originally released about 70 years ago by Porter Wagoner. Her take on the song is not a big departure from the original but to me it is more powerful. I have heard so many versions of the song, I have to say this as good as it gets and to my ear the best one. A fine lead guitarist doing just the right amount to add to the song and not drown it.
Love this old song and this is a fine fine version. Might just be my favorite version. Don't know what year Porter done it but Jack and Red wrote it in the mid fifties.
Just love listening to Ms. Jewel sing this one. I like this version the best. I like almost anything she sings. It is like she is not even trying. Such a quality voice. Thank you for sharing.
This song ,"A Satisfied Mind" is a song written by Joe "Red" Hayes and Jack Rhodes, and it has been done by a lot of different artists, beautiful song, and this version is right up there with the best of 'em,Thank you for puttin' it up here
Surprisiing Good Arrangement of a still-killer song. Thank you for sharing this high quality (in every way) video. Such a treat to watch it again, and again ...
The local guy with the fancy car (a long time real estate agent or something). He is always tan as if he had it done in a shop. Conversation with this man ?! No conversation. This man is as boring a the day is long.

This girl stuns me with her beauty, her voice, her authenticy. This is the true Heartbeat of America as it was not too long ago.
Don't you just love her . Praise God for her
I just went back and listened to Johnny Cash's version, and as golden voiced as he was, I have to say Eilen may have made this song even better.
Porter wagoner version is great to . She done it justice

70 years ago? Do you have any concept of time?
@@rockinredneck57 Not sure this is the most inaccurate thing on the internet, but go you.

@@rockinredneck57 well Jack and Red wrote it in 1955 so how old you reckon it to be.
So many good versions of this song out there and this adds to the list. Love the take and Jerry Miller's subtle accompaniment.
The best version of this song ever, Eilen is a treasure in american music, very touching interpretation
I just love her voice
This is talent not the crap they feed America threw the music corporate filter
That voice is pure honey !
What can you say...fabulous.
Gorgeous, and Jerry Miller's guitar solo is very special.
Two of bestthequeen of the minor key and the great Jerry Miller
This is just perfect !!
I love this song. Well done by Ms. Jewel.
one of my favs....love this song...
Amazing performance. Really tight vocals and great guitar work. Tight band.
I love it. This is one of the best covers of a classic.
What a voice!

Thank you for sharing.
I believe she could make a cactus cry.
Another gem from this wonderful group. So beautifully performed.
Been a fan of hers for so long
Of the many versions of this classic I think this is by some way the best - sparse, unvarnished and beautifully performed.
❤️ Eilen. I'm thrilled that she will be coming again to our local venue soon.
You go girl...outstanding with a 60 year old song

KaBoom ! > I'm in Music Luv with Ms. Jewell !
Please play this when I take my final rest.
Awsome
Jeff buckleys is my fav version. But I just think it's one of the best songs ever written. I love to hear the totally different takes on it from all
why isn't this song on itunes ????????????????
She's never done a studio version.
Pure
"Eilen Jewell," not Elian. But thanks for posting, great video.
Check out Darrell Scott’s version with the Band of Joy
Anybody know what that guitar is that she's playing?
Wow...
14 years and you still haven’t corrected her name in the title?
Written by the fantastic fiddle player Red Hayes....oh and it's 'Eilen'
Great Video . . Great Song . . ( now, if people could just 'spele rite' . . zzzzzzzz )
wow I think I wrote this song ..brilliant
how can I download a video or song?
I at least think they should spell her name correctly.
ELIEN - I wonder why that would have been so hard to get right? ;-)
You also got it wrong, it's Eilen.
@@WillyWithAwhY
@@WillyWithAwhY ...Eilen.
You might want to spell her name right.
Beats Porter's version, IMHO. The next Emmy Lou this girl.
Elian??
holy smokes....did I say....Holy Smokes
I prefer this over Darrell Scotts and Jeff Buckleys. I think this is less attitude with more focus on the lyrics.
Have you heard Marty Stuart cover it?
Elian Jewel??? I think you mean Eilen Jewell. You know, the way it's spelled to the left of Jerry's leg.
you spelled her name wrong.
Damn beer taste good..
you noticed that too?
3 notes and I was out
You should really make more of an effort to spell her name correctly, especially when it's right in front of you. 🙄
It's actually one rich man in a million
And this man is probably dead
Eh. Good effort. Missing them rich, rich harmonies.
The local guy with the fancy car (a long time real estate agent or something). He is always tan as if he had it done in a shop. Conversation with this man ?! No conversation. This man is as boring a the day is long.
Porter Wagoners version is better
Zzzzzzz
horrible song, vocals are terrible and everything else follows suite..
