I can't believe I'm having to reiterate this. When I said I was told Wally is autistic, I was aware that autism is a spectrum, not everyone with autism sounds like Wally, that's not what I was trying to say at all. I didn't want to put too much emphasis on it because it really doesn't matter, but because I made previous comments on his voice without being aware, I felt I needed to say something.
I hope this clears that up.

Whoever is doing Eddie’s voice is like butter to me for some reason. All the voice actors as well each adding something unique! And as Baz also noticed for Wally being odd, I think it was meant for Wally to act this way as well. Since the very first thing he is being described as is : charismatic, loving etc. Like a mask he is meant to portray himself as. But when we come across the tapes, I think that whenever the characters are mentioning Wally's name we can always hear them asking for Wally as if to make sure that he is isn't wondering his mind off elsewhere. As if it was a distraction to keep Home's manipulation away from Wally and ( perhaps the neighbors as they pretend not being affected as well ) or something. Although, that is just my little theory.

It’s okay Baz, I think it’s totally reasonable for people to think there is something wrong with Wally and the way he is communicating given the multiple context clues in the story that..there is something going on with Wally. Just because a character is monotone due to being on the spectrum doesn't mean there can't be something else effecting their speech. For all we know, there's a demonic entity targeting Wally first since the symptoms of demonic involvement could be dismissed as his autistic attributes like his speech patterns. It's often how people get away with abusing at-risk people in reality unfortunately.
Plus, it's suspicious that he talks naturally despite being monotone one moment and then sounds like he's confused while reading a script another and I think that's closer to whta Baz was referring to. The adorable "I'm up and I'm down now" moment--52:26 on Baz' last video on this update--when Barnaby or Eddie picked him up flowed out so naturally, but the secret audios have exaggerated fluxuations that sound like someone reading a script. To me, these different deliveries are to show that something is indeed off and give us a way to notice these differences.

Don't worry about it, Baz! I was one of the people who commented about Wally's voice.
Believe me that I didn't mean anything mean spirited about you or anyone else in the community for not knowing that (especially considering not everyone follows the creator on socials for fear of spoilers).
I wanted to address the topic because I had seen people react strongly about those comments so I wanted to give a bit of context to why some people might take it the wrong way.
Those people can even say mean things because of it. Which is not fair to you or anyone else who's not aware of certain aspects of the characters yet.
I know you didn't mean anything bad with what you said and considering the genre of the project it's not crazy to think about the assumptions you may make about Wally, and they are completely justified and not without reason.
However I don't personally think his monotone has anything to do with whatever's going on with him.
I definitely think there's something wrong with Wally, after all we hear him growing increasingly exasperated over the course of those audio recordings, with heavy breathing and imposing tone at the end: "Let me in!"
As well as the cryptic way he said his catchphrase at the end of his interview, which just sounded off for some reason.
Anyhow, personally I don't think he is possessed, I just think he's dealing with existential dread, however that's my own theory.
We won't know what's going on until more updates arrive, and it's cool to see people have different viewpoints in certain things due to their different experiences (either in their daily life or with experience with this type of media).
At the moment, only Clown knows how the story goes and only they can see the whole picture.

This kind of thing gives away what I think the story is and will be if the reason for Wally's actions is because of their autistic traits, would also explain how the story might turn into a psychological horror or what's trying to be done, I'm kind of hoping that the reason for Wally's noticeable behavior isn't because of these reasons though, but then again, this sort of route could be interesting if done well.

30:43 There actually rods to control the puppets' arms, and the bottom person is controlling the feet. Bonus detail with the rods: in the footage from Wally's POV, his hands are out of frame just enough to where the rods aren't visible.
      I think this has significance.
I interpreted in as Wally not wanting to look at them or be reminded of them as I he would rather not think about the fact he's a puppet or that he has means for others to control him.

The repeated use of spirals for those who are making crazy statements or losing their minds reminds me a lot of Uzumaki. Not sure if you've read it Baz, but it's a horror comic of how a small seaside town is warped by the concept of spirals; both physically and mentally.
And the "goo" that is ruining things reminds me of Bendy and the Ink Machine, perhaps this goo is connecting those who interact with it to Wally's world? For example, the ringing phone phenomena is happening with people affected similarly to the characters who answer the toy phones but get no response. What if Wally's world only exists through this goo/ portal, and the reason why nobody has info on it or history about it is because it is sealed away by whatever this is? And the only information anyone can truly get out of it is through contamination of the portal/ goo?

Clown has stated they they are ALL autistic, including Wally.
Julie stims, Frank hyper fixates, Barnoby struggles picking up on discomfort cues until they’re overt, Poppy takes things literally like “let’s get to brass tacks” meaning actual tracks instead of details. I assume that when Wally hears his name at the end of each audio log, he snaps out of his trance and is normal again. The way he goes into these catatonic states is also reminiscent of actors having suppressed mental breakdowns.
Everyone assumes Wally is the ringleader or one in control since he's the main mascot, which is the perfect scapegoat in this kind of scenario, but its possible its the other way around and he sees things as they really are, which is why there might be a further obsession with eyes.....Wally has seen shit he's not supposed to, been subjected to things he still can't comprehend....That's just a theory though

to add to the lore of welcome home, if u haven't already been told, that on the stickers page there is poppy's sticker and on one of the slides you can see her eyes in a very distressed state and it definitely stands out. ALSO on all the answer tabs you come across. on the different tabs, in every video wally is baited on giving an answer. idk what it means but it could be wally signaling us (the 'neighbors as he calls us) to give an answer to his calls (as hinted in one of his responses in the guest book) while giving us glimpses into the neighborhood through his eyes.
also i think wally has always been aware of what he was. Idk for sure but the only hint we get to this self awareness in also in the guestbook where some comments "wally your such a doll" or something like that, then wally responds with a image of an eye, but if you inspect it you would see that the image alt reads "no a puppet". which combats the non self-awareness that a lot of the other characters seem to have the phone for example it seems like a lot of the characters seem to think that their actual neighbors in an actual neighborhood and some one is actually prank calling them rather than recording audios for a toy. but once again idk for sure so if you have any evidence to combat all of this then feel free to lmk or anything like that. byebye

Hey Baz, I appreciate you acknowledging the comments! I definitely don't think they were meant to be mean spirited in any way nor does it seem anyone else did, but I think theres something really important to note. I'm pretty sure clown has confirmed that due to them being autistic, their characters are as well and its been explicitly said Wally doesn't understand emotions very much. He laugh's the way he does for example because Barnaby only really taught him to say "ha ha ha". While we don't know for sure yet that this wasn't added for the horror factor specifically it should be noted that a lot of autistic traits are seen as "creepy". That and Wally's voice is said to be similar to the creators so by making fun of one you are going after the other too. Flat toned voice and trouble with emotions specifically being some of the ones treated the worst. I'm autistic and we get made fun of for being creepy a LOT, you say you'd never make fun of an autistic person but that's the thing, nobody making fun of us KNOWS were autistic; they just think we're weird and you, unknowingly, likely just did the same. Its a problem the community speaks out about a lot because were tired of being othered for something we can't control. A lot of WH fans are autistic as well which is why I believe there was such a big call out, but shame on all the people that got angry at our community trying to bring awareness to this. The point is that the comments took a trait that is very much present IRL and made fun of it regardless of if Wally is autistic or not. It's going to hurt someone.
Edit: And to prove my point , the people in the comments section making fun of WH fans for being "cringey" for doing very harmless things that are common amongst autistic people when they have a special interest or are hyperfixated on a specific media in a fandom that is very popular with autistic people.

As an autistic person, yes, autism is a spectrum, but I'm gonna be honest here. And this isn't a criticism of you, per se. I don't buy it. I think it's just a young person who may be autistic and decided that Wally is too. I know I personally looked for a lot of characters to identify with or see myself in as an isolated autistic person, and I know that a lot of geek culture spaces are just kind of infested with young people who are just like...whatever they say goes, know what I mean? I think it's just a fan who's a little too excited to jump to a particular conclusion.

I believe that the puppets start as just puppets unlit one day they became Is sentient (like in my friendly neighborhood) with wally being the first to become sentient, when the puppets did they were confused and maybe afraid, soon one day the cast members that used to worked on the show discovered that the puppets are alive and became horrified by this discovery, then day the cast members attacked wally and his friends and destroyed any welcome home property, by the end of this only wally and home (with home being badly damaged) are alive and now wally is trying to contact people and try to bring back welcome home in hopes that it will bring his friends back to alive again
