Hey all! I've been told by many of you since uploading this that the original artwork is no longer canon and I was unaware at the time of recording. So I guess these are my initial thoughts on the website! :)

Don't know why that quote sticks with me, but it certainly flared up when learning about this ARG.

In regards to Wally's cross cufflinks on his wrists; clown has stated on their tumblr that pretty much everything on their website/portfolio regarding welcome home is concept art, so take it all with a grain of salt
"Everything outside of the Website, Especially anything prior to the beginning of January in 2022, is Conceptual Artwork! These items are not solidified any Longer, such as Wally's cufflinks which no longer adorns Crosses on the outside! ... So I would not regard these Very Old Pieces as anything to consider! Welcome Home has been Completely Overhauled since then!"

I just assumed that since his arms were bent, it looked like crosses but if his arms were down, they'd be anti-crosses??
There are a couple images on the welcome home restoration site that still have cross cufflinks in them, unless that's a creative oversight.
Fun fact about the guestbook (and a lot of the site): Images are named in such a way that the site is kinda communicating to us, and in the guestbook (presumed) Wally is actually responding to the comments! We've created a spreadsheet for all the named guestbook images to make it much easier to go through! (I don't know if I can link to it here?)

50:39 I'm pretty sure that the "alive" pages in the concept art just show how the character could look like in a real life puppet form, which is why they look more stiff and their expressions look more empty compared to their book pages versions. Anyways, great video, Baz!
I love and adore the 1960 and 70s aesthetic of this ARG especially how its inspired by sesame street, the muppets, and Mr. Rogers neighborhood which is one of my favorite childhood shows back in the 2000s. I'll give major props to Clown for his colorful rainbow artwork which is ALL eye candy. 😍❤🧡💛💚💙💜🌈🏠
I agree, plus the psychedelic, wavy patterns, the floral shapes, the vibrant colors swirling together in a technicolor miasma, that reminded me of Grateful Dead and Pink Floyd and Jimi Hendrix posters; as well as the borders of titlecards in various segments of both Early Sesame Street and the Electric Company.

@@stell5056 Show? Are you referring to 'Welcome Home' or the shows (Sesame Street, the Electric Company, etc.) that I mentioned. Because in the later case, 'Yes; they did exist."
If it was the former, then "No."
Although technically, when Clown made this ARG, he kinda did make it exist, by laying the general groundwork for other artists, photographers, cryptologists, and any number of necessary people to make this ARG a thing.
Even if it wasn't originally real, not existing in the timeframe that Clown said it did in the lore, he did make it real.
I may be reaching but if you listen to Sally’s description, she seems to parallel Lucifer in some ways. Saying “she was the brightest star in the sky, shining above those around her” she was unsatisfied with her position and “fell”. I hear a lot about Lucifer being the most powerful angel at the church I used to go to. Maybe the creator based her on him a little.
That’s exactly what I was thinking when reading her story. I’m not religious anymore, but I do remember that Lucifer was said to be “the brightest angel/star in heaven, but his pride corrupted him and he fell from grace” or something along those lines. I wouldn’t be surprised if Sally’s story was inspired by his.

There definitely do seem to be some biblical undertones to the ARG. It's to be seen if these undertones carry through.

not trying to be annoying, but it might be beneficial to say that the creator, Clown, has clarified that a lot of the art on the welcome home intro website (the dark one) is obsolete ! it's mostly old art from before he reworked the project. you can differentiate some of the old art from modern one trough wally's clothes, if he is wearing the rainbow shirt it's most likely old art and not canon anymore, if hes wearing the blue sweater it's modern !

I have a feeling that it's going to turn out to be the residents of home who are sending all of the evidence of the show as a cry for help as it was mentioned that they were received in colourful envelopes and Eddie is pictured with colourful envelopes and the original picture was destroyed with paint and wally is a painter with could suggest that he is trying to stop them from reaching out for help by destroying all the evidence of the show

I personally don't really believe for or against this, as on the one hand, I was raised in a Catholic family that didn't approve of such 'evil' symbols, viewing it as instant damnation to even _think_ about such things, much less actually gaze upon it; on the other hand, growing up and becoming more jaded and cynical about the world, shifting towards a more grounded, materialistic mindset, as opposed to a spiritual, non-empirical one (which caused the less level-headed, more 'zealous' members of my family to accuse me of being lapsed, a "Cafeteria Catholic," an agnostic half-hearted Christian; mother was tolerant of me researching other religions and philosophies, it was the older generation who had a staunch uncompromising worldview, the grandparents and granduncles and grandaunts); I don't _really_ buy into the mystical undertones of it all, instead merely viewing it as one of the many paradigms and systems by which mankind has attempted to understand its place in the universe... albeit, in a way that was never condoned either by the more Secular/ Scientific _or_ the more Sacred/ Religious, who view it with a mutual disdain, and thus exclusion from larger society.
If you watch the banners on the links page, Julie’s banner flashes to an image of her with a strange teal outline and looking sad/scared, and Poppy has one with wide, scared/shocked eyes (which is odd as every other character depicts them as happy or in a pleasant characterful way). Knowing the importance of eyes in this series, it makes it all the more eerie when you look at the banner that shows all of the characters (eyes), and see how it lingers on Wally for just a *few* frames longer than all the others…….
There’s also just an eye straight up on the rock Wally is sitting on in the homepage. I love that little eye so much. It’s just RIGHT THERE by his foot and it just sets the tone so wonderfully.
The caterpillar and butterfly motifs are a suspicious and interesting contrast...
Going off of initial glance; imo, the comparison gives the impression that Frank's love of butterflies and yet having Howdy be an adult caterpillar implies a sense of immaturity or something unprocessed from Howdy's childhood. It might even imply a sense of holding onto nostalgia in an inappropriate way that prevents full maturity, but it may also imply learning to work with things that have stunted you in childhood--I get this impression because he clearly has no qualms about not having wings and utilizes all of his limbs in his job, implying acceptance and creating utility in his form. Caterpillars and butterflies are often associated with feminine maturity of going from girl to woman in a healthy way, so the detail of having Howdy be male implies that this symbolic interpretation may not apply to him. I would also like to mention the detail of it being specifically butterflies and not both butterflies and moths--the symbolism of caterpillar to butterfly is seen as a healthy coming of age while an unhealthy coming of age is caterpillar to moth. This detail of not including moths may or may not eventually matter, but I do think it's worth keeping in mind just in case.
they have more people helping them now that they have started the arg. i know of one other artist that helped them. they have voice actors now and some other artists to help out and I'm sure they will grow in one way or another with their popularity growing since nightmind introduced a lot of us to them. I will totally buy their merch if they get any

It's surreal for me to see Welcome Home get so talked about. I remember discovering it through a horror based tumblr blog, seeing a sesame street-esque muppet with a black hand coming out of it's mouth and getting immedietaly hooked. It's great to see it get the attention it deserves and I can't wait to see where it goes!
I have this theory that all of them are in danger but mainly Wally. Like the creator or the person who controlled his puppet did something which forever tainted the show and characters which caused its downfall. Just to me personally Wally is a victim more than the danger. Just me though what do you others think?

Everything is completely bright and cheerful and sunny and not creepy at all, and surely there's absolutely nothing wrong with receiving random brightly colored envelopes with no return addresses, that just include stained pages of art...
Two things:
1) All the books and pages held for the camera are being held by puppet hands that could be characters from the show.
2) If you go far enough into the guestbook, the art replies are named with what looks like some kind of machine code. I tried running it through a Hex Decoder, but I didn't get anything useful.
I think the demon is home and wally is like it's priest, that's why he has the cross in his arm. I don't know if the picture is canon but maybe the idea clown had for wally is him being the priest to its deity "home", this is kind of supported by the window drawing with him bowing to home

Is it weird that I find Barnaby to be my favorite character/ design in this entire ARG? I don’t know what it is, the story of who he is or the design of a blue beagle with rainbow spots.

On the Welcome Home site(not the page explaining it's a horror seriee) there's a long collection of pictures & if you get to the end you see Julie with her siblings
In the picture of Wally mirroring the iconic “ as above so below “ pose, you can clearly see the outline of all the characters in the background, all except the s star character, where her shadow is replaced with,,,, something
I would really love to see episodes of this show in this psychological unfiction series. But I also can't help but wonder what exactly cause it to be pulled from tv and what the hell the creator did to make the show so haunted like it is. But I do agree that the maker of this series I think Clown did an amazing job with the art and a like, cause it really does seem like he put a lot of love in to it and didn't half ass anything.
Hey Baz! A note I realised whike looking on the website on my phone- the house that belongs to Wally is moved to the top of the page, and where his house used to be is a black hole with a white swirl! It seems clown considered other devices when designing the website- which is super cool.
I have done some exploring myself and fun fact Baz! With the misplaced letters that you have found from the paragraphs/words, you can actually place them on the site's URL just after the slash and it'll take you somewhere! Of course, with those same letters, you can jumble them up and it will lead you to different secrets. I don't think every pattern works though but a little hint, you're missing a few more letters. Anyways, loved the video and keep up the good work!!
If the colors match up to the font color of their names, they could represent Wally, Barnaby, Julie, Frank, and Poppy. I was also looking at Poppy's illustration with the tray of cookies, and she only makes four (including herself) with Barnaby, Julie, and Wally....interesting....
This has been my OBSESSION for the past few days since Night Mind's video on it, I'm so glad to see you covering this!
Honestly, the whole section about the characters and their personalities genuinely made me forget that this is a horror series. So much love and attention has been poured into these characters, and if Welcome Home was a real show, I'd probably watch it! It sounds delightful, and I'm excited and hoping to see these characters find freedom from whatever it is that is taking over their neighborhood and lives.

Just so everyone knows, Baphomet is not a vicious deity, in real life he represents the balance of good and evil, hence ‘as above so below’. There is no problem with using him as a scare factor, but just note that when referring to actual baphomet, he is not evil in any way. Wally's design reminds me of a cult member, the cross cufling, the as above so below pictures maybe representing his belief in the occult, and being placed within the middle of town.
The ways the words Welcome Home can be taken in many different ways, like to you as in someone welcoming you home. But can be taken like someone welcoming the 'home' or in another way, like a cult leader comanding members to well..
The use of just 3 or 2 words given context is amazing and i'm happy something like this exists.
This comment isn't nearly as impressive as the rest of the findings, but I realized that in all the character pages, everyone is looking off in the distance or focused on something else except for Wally. He's the only one looking you straight in the eye, watching you learn about him and his friends while he's getting a reaction/information out of you. IDK, I thought it was super interesting.
in one of the digitalized artworks of Wally Darling, I noticed he was made doing the sign satanists usually use when (correct me if wrong) contacting or sacrifing something to satan himself. I might’ve took a look too far into the artworks but that is just something i noticed.
If you’re referring to the one of him pointing up with one hand and down with the other, he’s doing the pose often associated with Baphomet meaning “As above, so below.” Which when you click the black area behind/under Home links you to a page called “so-below” which leads me to believe we’ll eventually get another page titled “as-above”

Personally I feel, and strongly hope, that Wally is NOT the villain. The House maybe, but not Wally. That Wally is alive, he is trapped, and he is trying to protect visitors, and save his friends, makes the most sense to me. Perhaps escape... Yet, I also get the impression Wally has maybe been alone for quite some time, leaving the question of how intact his sanity is. Yet I do feel he is trying to save everyone. I get the strong sense of someone trying to get back his friends, and the neighborhood, that he loves and using the restoration team to do this, using even us. Even if it hurts. That he wants his friends back, he wants to be free. Yet he is scared, perhaps even desperate. I feel empathy for what is a fictional character of an ARG puppet horror project.

What I did to read the layered message at 41:27 is I just copied the text and pasted it on a random message on a discord account of mine, and I accidentally selected all text and happened to find the hidden text as well as the original sentence
The artwork reminds me of old sesame street books for kids or other kids book based off of kid shows. I'm not sure if I even have those anymore.

My guess is that odd details of the characters are going to be evolved into horror-themed versions of those details. Frank's head-spin, Julie's siblings, or Howdy's names for hot-dogs (having them as chopped-up dog bits with tiny legs) are good candidates.

Just wanna drop in and thank you for going so in depth with this update. I'm trying to compile my own notes, sectioned by each update, and the Wayback Machine seems to be very finicky with the WH website lmfao. All of the text in the Your Neighborhood page is just not there for any of the puppets! This vid was a real live saver.

Omg omg omg I have been obsessed with this arg, and specifically obsessed with Wally
Because of this video, I wanted to check on the website myself. I decided to check on the guess book and no, those aren't real people. However, besides the one that you showed in the end, there are more interesting stuff to be found in the guest book. On page 6, there is a post that doesn't have a name that is kind of covered by "+" and "?". If you try to look behind this though, the person that seems like they are crying out for help. On a previous page, there is another person that just asks, "Where am I?" which I found out of place. There is also Jarka that says, "Why are you looking at me?"
Those are just the interesting ones that I saw that seemed out of place with the other comments just about how exciting the project is.

It's actually very interesting, because next to Wally's phone (with the buttons taped), you see 999. Which is sometimes used as an emergency contact, but also means death and rebirth! Rebirth is shown a lot throughout the website, as his favorite thing to draw around seems to be spirals. Spirals spiritually mean a sign of rebirth as well. Crazy.

If "welcome home" comes on television, I rather see Jim Henson productions do it in their way of being like friendly.
That means it shouldn't be horrifying AT ALL.
Jim Henson has done darker material like Dark Crystal and Labyrinth, so if anyone was to make child friendly material with sinister horror story elements, his production team would totally nail it!
Even if you look at older episodes of Sesame Street, you'll definitely see how eerie and sometimes sinister the puppets actually used to be. Jim Henson's work in actually wasn't all happiness and sunshine all the time, even some of his most innocent works have darkness sprinkled in, because realistically, you can't have light without darkness and you can't completely shield a child from sadness or tragedies. Sesame Street may be child friendly, but they are definitely not afraid to tackle some dark topics, and I can appreciate them for that.

For "welcome home", I rather let it be a child friendly kids tv show without sinister horror story elements to be so traumatic.

I have a feeling that whatever missing or mistery puppet was murdered by wally and stuffed somehow into home and forced to shut up it moving doors and stuff may be it trying to escape and also in the voicemail or phonecall you can hear a fast heart beat of the house wich means its scared or paniking
