Do you know if they do the Player in a 2 piece ? What two piece paddle is most like the Shogun, I want to get a two piece paddle for travelling but want something similar to my Shogun.
I've been running the same set of AT2s for 20 years now. Those tips are on the edge now, and that Select paddle is one I've been looking at. Anything south of a kilo is light as far as I'm concerned. ATs at 197 are 1025g EDIT: Like most competition-orientated paddle makers, select make shafts and paddles separately so racers can mix and match according to their preferences. The neck of the blade will be set inside the shaft, and that ring of heat shrink is there to tidy up the join.
I've had the Galasport Manic MCQ Ergo (Foam core/Bent shaft 203 R30), aka Odachi like in every way for about 5 months now. I LOVE it! It has MORE offset (Galasport 1.25") (Werner 0.75') from your hands to the blade face so you essentially have more (0.5") forward reach on your stroke. The hand positions are closer together Galasport (26") than the Werners (31"). I've always felt that the Werner hand positions were too far apart. (Measured at approx. mid point of bent portion of paddle shaft) The blade to shaft joint is NOT GLUED, rather it's one piece and looks robust. Plus it doesn't have the sharp edge on the blade or collar to cut your hands. It's much like the SELECT Wade shows here. It also has the Dynel edge, but not 'blunted' off. They actually put a bit of an edge on it so it's isn't as numb slicing through the water and feels a bit more like a glass/carbon fiber layup would. 'Round' Shaft diameter on the Galasport (1.17") -vs- Werners (1.20") So it has some registration. Galasport 0.110" difference in X-Y shaft diameters -vs- Werners 0.080" Mass was slightly heavier Galasport (1130g) Werner Odachi (1047g) (Both paddles Bent/R30 200) The best part was from calling in with my CC number to paddle in hand was LESS than a week. I don't know if I was the exception or the norm. Galasport paddles can only be purchased through their website.
And I have used one here and there but want to use one for like a entire lap on a river to really get the feel for it. I have reached out to few people I know to try to get one for reviews.
I had the Warrior for 9 months and did not like it. The ''foam core' was a small hockey puck in the center of the blade. Coming from the Werner line of foam cores, this felt a lot less buoyant. The blade is carbon fiber with a substantially increased edge thickness at the tip for wear protection. The bent shaft hand position were slightly less than Werner's but still felt wide. The shaft diameter was smaller than Werner's but I can't find my measurements of it now.
@@jimmazzolaiii2017 yeah I liked the warrior also but will agree it doesn’t have that buoyant feeling it has a small weird foam insert the one I had was straight shaft I never used select bent but see they offer a forward crank i would love to give one of those a go
Tie between the Gpower twister and Letttman LCS they are the same in some ways but different and would be happy forever with either. But very costly to replace if damaged or broken or swim and lost. Can almost get 2 of these players for the price of one of those.

I don’t think the player ever came in 2 piece reach out to highwater hobbies and ask them
@ any suggestions for a paddle that would be similar to a Shogun but in two piece construction?
what tape are you using on your paddles for grip?
This
Scotch Vinyl Color Coding Electrical Tape---- amzn.to/3I4cro8

Nice thanks for clearing that up it just seems very very small for a wrap compared to others out there.
Sweet review as always!!!! Would love to see a lettman nitro review in the future!!!🤞🏼
I used one briefly while out in CO
Wade do you know why these paddles are listed under selects polo program?
They are a polo and whitewater paddle that’s what crazy that’s why I wanted to really test this one and see if it’s legit
Wade, is the Select player much lighter vs the old AT2s, Flexi and the like?
Yes all ten AT2 paddles were heavy
Would love to see a Galasport paddle review!

Nice feedback thanks for the run down!

Great video as usual Wade, I was wondering what do you think about the select w1
I have not used the W1 I have used the warrior the wild and now the player

If you could only have one paddle forever what would you go with?
