Thanks for the comments and kind words. That is a great observation regarding the gakasport Manic which is now one of my paddles of choice.
You can see a comparison between it and the shogun video here

      Thanks again..

how do we feel about the shogun and how quickly it wears down nowdays? + Do you have an opinion on the VE carbon paddles of palm?

@yirequ2150 thanks for checking in. I haven't seen any real speeding up of wear on the foam core Werner paddles (shogun, stikine etc). The dynell edging ensures the blade doesn't wear away like a laminate paddle. I havent used the VE paddles myself so unfortunately don't have any meaningful insight into them..

Thinking of a Shogun. Do you like 45 degree or 30 degree offset for an intermediate/moderately advanced river runner?

I have used 30 degree paddles for as long as I can remember so as a personal thing, I certainly prefer 30 over 45. It also makes them a bit nicer for freestyle crossover paddling. Nothing wrong with 45 though, I would say it is probably a 50/50 split of river runner paddlers preferring each offset.

How tall are you? Was thinking about the paddle shaft length.
